"If you got the sight, we got the views." Our property sits on top of a hill on 10 acres of beautiful panoramic views of Cahuilla and, Palomar mountain along with rolling hills of large rock formation and colorful wildflowers in the spring. Nestled up to the wildlife preserve of the government bureau of land management which provides more of a quiet and private setting to enjoy what nature has to offer.
You will see Jack rabbits and cotton tail bunnies, roadrunners, quail, owls, different type of birds, hawks, coyote, lizards, snakes and even some toads. On occasion you may see deer, Bob cats, mountain lion along with endangered kangaroo mice, The beautiful night sky is easy to see planets and shooting stars without the interruption of city lights.
There are many trails to walk, hike, bike and horse back ride where you can discover large boulders in different shapes and sizes along with hidden caves. A variety of rocks and minerals can be found for those rock hound enthusiasts as well.
At the camp site you will find a horseshoe pit ,indoor and outdoor games and treasure hunts for everyone to enjoy. If you want to bring your own set of golf clubs you can even hit some balls!
We allow pets for a $10 per pet/per booking. If you want to bring a pet, please add the pet fee listed as an extra during the booking process.
There are off road areas nearby. Bring your motor bike, quad or buggy and throw up some dirt.
Not too far there is a Casino, a store open 24 hrs. and a restaurant call for hours. 20-30 minutes away from the Temecula stores and wineries.
You don’t have to worry about packing up a bunch of camping equipment, our camp provides a 35 foot RV if you prefer a roof over your head and a place to sit down for a meal. The power runs off a generator ( you will need to provide your own fuel. it is a 5 gallon capacity). has indoor and outdoor lights, a radio, outlets to plug in a fan or heater or a phone/computer. There are dishes and utensils,pots/pans and a toilet. Outside water is provided to wash up and clean the dishes. There is a propane b.b.q, propane fire ring, outdoor bench, table and camp chairs. included in the cost.

At 10,833 feet in elevation, this is the second highest peak in California. There are two ways to get to the summit. You can hike the whole thing or shave off about 6000 vertical feet by riding the Palm Springs Aerial Tramway. Either way, the summit is not to be missed.
For a real challenge try the epic Cactus to Clouds trail. It was rated as one of the hardest day hikes in the world by Backpacking Magazine. Its 21 miles take you skyward through sub-alpine forests, mountain meadows, snow-dusted crags, and gnarled granite. An alpine start is required to avoid the midday heat so be prepared and take plenty of water.
Campers have plenty to choose from. The San Jacinto area offers two drive-in campsites, four hike-in primitive campsites, and adventures for every brand of wilderness craving. If you want to backpack to the summit over a day or two try the Deer Springs Trail. This park has adventures for every brand of wilderness craving.

We are the second owners of the property and want to be as self sustaining as possible. We are on a well and have converted to solar power. We have 2 full outdoor bathrooms, one was most recently added at our Elderberry Camp Site (site 1), and is also close to site 4 our Oaks Campsite as well. (Please note our 2nd bathroom is a good walk uphill from the campsites). Our larger bathroom campers can use with a shower and small fridge to store your food.
We also have a playground with swing set for kids to enjoy.
PLEASE NOTE: Bookings must be made at least 48 hours in advance.
FIRES: No fires are to be lit by the campers without verbal consent from property owner and instruction. SEE property owner/camp host upon arrival about what you may use on the property. He will provide instructions.
TASTINGS: Macala Orchards Olive Oil, Various Jellies and Jams Pomegranate Juice all made from what we grow are available for tasting upon request. Please let us know prior to arrival if you are interested in a scheduled tasting during your stay! We can provide a tasting if we have the proper staff during your visit. Our products are available for purchase, with or without a tasting. We recommend you bring cash if you are interested. We also take Venmo!
GETTING TO VILLA MACALA: The road up to Villa Macala is a dirt road uphill, all vehicles fair well, we attempt to keep the road maintained as well as possible, after heavy rains it is a bit more bumpy but safe. Drive slow!

We stayed at the Shadetree Overlook and it was a great camping experience away from the city noise and lights! The hosts were very friendly and helped us set up the propane fire pit. The eucalyptus trees were perfect to string up a hammock and provide a little bit of shade from the midday sun. The sunset views and nighttime stars were delightful! Wish the bathrooms were a tad bit closer especially in the middle of the night, but only about a 5 min walk away so we made do. Overall we had a great and peaceful time!

Great place. Not sure how it compares to other campgrounds in the area, but my son (4.5 y.o.) had a great time. Views are amazing. Hosts, Vicky and Rich are great and so accomodating. There are indoor showers and toilets.

Weekend Trip to Agave Azul Del Sol
Eric was super friendly and hospitable. The cabin is cozy, clean, and located on the side of the mountain for insane views the second you step out the door. We were able to see stars so clearly at night for a meteorite shower. The compost bathroom was so convenient, queen mattress was really comfy, and grill was perfect for all of our meals. My pup ran around the property safely and we didn’t encounter any coyotes or snakes. This area is full of incredible hikes and kind people- would 100% recommend

This place is great. Very spread out with amazing views. We had a group of 5 people and had plenty of space. Would definitely recommend staying here.

1 night at Magical Harrison Serenity Ranch
My daughter and I planned a birthday camping getaway for my other daughter -Vicki the owner was so accommodating, and great communication . Rich was there to greet them and was super helpful and his dog was adorable.! My daughter loved the glamping tent!! the view and the sunset were amazing. Absolutely beautiful setting !! we couldn't have asked for more . They had a fantastic time. I highly recommend this place 5+ stars.!!! Very secluded and relaxing !

1 night at Manzanita Village Retreat
What an amazing spot! Very quiet and peaceful. My old dog and I wandered and relaxed. Tom met us and showed us around. He was very kind and helpful. The views were amazing!

With pets
Our first Hip Camp experience and Davida’s Happy Camper was just perfect! The RV was clean, quiet and cozy. The bed was one of the most comfortable we’ve ever slept in. So many thoughtful amenities. The trailer was equipped with everything we needed and then some.
Plenty of firewood for our 4 night stay. We enjoyed our hikes exploring the property and refreshing soaks in the outdoor tubs in the afternoon.
Davida’s attention to detail and friendly, accommodating nature make her an exceptional host. She was delightful, as were her family and crew that we had the pleasure of interacting with during our stay. We are already planning our next visit.

1 night at Villa Macala
Villa Macala is a great place to visit. You can tell right away the hard work the farm staff puts into the place! A lovely orchard in the foothills.
The farm manager, David, couldn’t have been more helpful and such a wonderful man to meet.
I was on a bicycle trip and stayed in the teardrop and slept like a baby. I would definitely recommend a visit and be sure to get some of their great products. Olive oil and pomegranate jelly.. say Hi to David, from his biking buddy Eric!

Fantastic property that they turned into a few campsites. Comfortable seating, beautiful sprawling Mountain View’s, amazing hosts. Would definitely recommend. They are living the dream out here in wine country. It was so nice to sit under the stars and feel at peace with the mountains at night and not scared of being in the middle of nowhere lol. The host was so nice and personable, working on their land all morning to just make it’s even more beautiful. Can’t wait to come back. Absolutely loved our time here.
