The sweet Aussie poked his head in our tent to say "you good?" haha It was so cute and they were extremely friendly and social! The black kitten stayed at our camp all night and cuddled on our laps by the fire. It was such a lovely experience. Our property features an olive grove farm with plenty of hiking trails. You can explore nature at its best with our natural habitat full of quails, white tail rabbits, and natural vegetation. We love animals as well and have horses, ducks, and chickens roaming onsite.
We have many nearby points of interest including the Palomar Mountains where you can get outside to take a hike or explore. We are driving distance from Julian, CA where you can check out their famous pies! We are also close to Borrego Trails where you can run and recreate and we’re only 2 miles from Emerald Creek Winery where you can kick back afterwards. Lastly, we are only 18 miles from downtown Temecula and all food and activities they have to offer.
Even though we are near to activities you can find great things to do on our property as well. You can explore our 20 acres and hike through the olive groves all afternoon. You can also feed the chickens, ducks, and horses or head out the gate where you can find miles of dirt roads to roam. You can expect some natural noises during your stay. At a distance sometimes you’ll hear coyotes, owls, and the wake-up call from the rooster. Occasionally you will hear a donkey call in the distance.
Your hosts live on site and usually plan to meet and greet as needed. Once you are settled you will have plenty of privacy, but we are on-site in our private home and could be reached if needed!
This listing is for our spectacular yurt tent set and an RV site called the stables up on 20 acres in a secure and safe olive grove with plenty of privacy. You can expect spectacular views of the valley below, the Palomar mountains and relaxing sunsets under a beautiful blanket of stars. Our main house is about 600 feet from the site, but you will enjoy your own outside shower, compost restroom, picnic table, propane BBQ, large cooler, and fire pit! The tent accommodates up to 4 people and an additional person could bring their tent and set up on the site as well. Amenities listed below:

At 10,833 feet in elevation, this is the second highest peak in California. There are two ways to get to the summit. You can hike the whole thing or shave off about 6000 vertical feet by riding the Palm Springs Aerial Tramway. Either way, the summit is not to be missed.
For a real challenge try the epic Cactus to Clouds trail. It was rated as one of the hardest day hikes in the world by Backpacking Magazine. Its 21 miles take you skyward through sub-alpine forests, mountain meadows, snow-dusted crags, and gnarled granite. An alpine start is required to avoid the midday heat so be prepared and take plenty of water.
Campers have plenty to choose from. The San Jacinto area offers two drive-in campsites, four hike-in primitive campsites, and adventures for every brand of wilderness craving. We had a blast at Saddle Up. Tons of goats for my kids to chase. Space to ride bikes (regular peddle) for the kids. Level sites for the Sprinter. Horseback riding with the family. The people taking care of the place are really fun and dedicated to the animals. A few tips. Bring a pop up or awning for shade. It’s the desert so extra water to soak yourself and drink. There is a Weber charcoal grill at each site. Talk to the volunteers, they have good stories!!

Very nice space for a simple campsite. We wanted to get away from the town/city, as the location provides mountains and some homes nearby. The host, Garth, was very kind and communicative. Always messaging us with updates and was transparent. I would say the campsite is on their land, so their home is next door. We had the opportunity to be the only campers on the property, which was a plus, since the campsites are less than 10 feet apart. A neighbor had a party until 2 a.m., which was unexpected and beyond the host's control. We did not have the best quality of sleep. Besides that, we still had a wonderful time on their site! :)

Weekend Trip to Basecamp Palomar
This is my 3rd time back and the property and the airstream seems to get better every time. The pool is now open. It’s super clean with plenty of seating. The nights are just as quiet and even with someone next door it feels pretty private. We will see you next time!!!

This is a gorgeous ranch with beautiful views of the surrounding hills and mountains. The scenery is stunning, with hiking options throughout the property. We saw rabbits, lizards, and an owl during our walks. Our site was private and quiet, with a wood burning stove for cooking, and a stone's throw from a FANTASTIC (hotel quality) bathroom. The site even has misters threaded into the pergola that you can turn on to keep you cool on hot days. Rich, the ranch owner and our gracious host, made us feel very welcome upon arrival. He gave us an awesome tour of the property, including how they make olive oil from their olive orchard. We had a great stay and we thank you, Rich, for sharing the property with us!

We had an amazing time camping here. It was peaceful and beautiful. The vibe of the entire property was great. Vicki was so kind of welcoming and we could tell a lot of pride and love has gone into this place. My only advise is to make sure you are prepared for an unpaved drive up and down the mountain - I'd recommend only taking a vehicle with higher clearance and good traction.

I had such a nice little get away :) I had never been camping alone before so wanted somewhere relatively local and not too into the wilderness to give it a go. Arrived to a nice clean paved little site which I really appreciated since I have just a small sedan not meant for off roading at all. I opted for the stove and the fire pit which Garth had set up ready to go! He came out to check in with me when I got there and fortunately I did not need any assistance this trip but had I needed it I know would’ve been taken care of! Not a ton of shade and it did get warm but there was plenty of breeze! The Pepper spot had a beautiful view, I also set my tent up in front the tree with flowers under it which a hummingbird frequently visited, probably my favorite little perk :) yes, you’re clearly on someone’s property lol but with a little effort that can stay mostly out of view and it’s a beautiful property anyways so I don’t see any cons personally. I would stay here again happily :)

Cool place to set up and enjoy a mountain environment. The hosts were friendly. Nice views and it was just the right amount of seclusion while being in a community camp that has amenities.

The property was very beautiful!
Dave, the property care-taker was very kind and enthusiastic about making sure we had everything we needed!
We loved that we had a bathroom right on our site, and when it got too hot, we were able to connect the hose to the pergola that had misters installed.
We loved how natural everything was,
and the scenery was amazing!
Note that there is not a lot of flat ground at our site Elderberry than we expected, but we made it work.
The fire pit was perfect. the wood-burning stove was super cool but, not practical for us because the wood was burning too fast for it to heat up the stove top.
Now the tasting and tour is A MUST!
Not only is it free, but you get to try all the amazing jams and olive oil they make here at the orchard! The tasting was held by the property owner, and she was the sweetest and we loved hearing her stories.
The tour was definitely a rush! Dave took us all around the property on what felt like a juiced up golf cart, and it was crazy fun. He had a lot of cool stories to tell as well, and it was really cool to see where all the jams and oil come from, and the history of the land.
I will warn you, the ride will for sure have you covered in dirt by the end of it! 😆
The swings were also really fun, you can see the grounds from up top!

We really enjoyed our camping trip. The weather and views were beautiful; the tent was lovely and comfortable. Everything was set up when we got there and Lance came to check on us a few hours later. We had a great convo and shared some food. We were also visited by the sweet dogs Pala, Cozmo, and Lulu. We had a great time and will be back! Oh, we also really enjoyed the hammock!

Weekend Trip to Lazy Y Guest Ranch
Great spot for enjoying the outdoors with comfort at a reasonable cost. Loved the patio, hot tub, peace and quiet and the sweet horse. Convenient proximity to San Diego while still feeling like a getaway.

Awesome, quiet escape an hr from San Diego! Host Rich was incredibly nice and helpful, the property has many different camping accommodations for an incredible variety of comfort level. Was there by myself essentially and was able to explore the property l, all the camping spots looked super clean and had great views! Definitely would visit again as a solid and fun quick getaway from San Diego. The final 4 miles drive up to the campground was a little rough but I had no problems with a run of the mill Subaru Outback

Perfect place to have a moment away and connect with nature. Also perfect to escape the heat of the desert! We stayed with our child in the RV Basecamp which has a patio with a gorgeous pasture view and the shared company of the cow and some wild creatures. Just down the way you can see Mr Bucky, the horse and have a nice little chat with him. Lodging was clean and has everything you need to support your meals preparation. We enjoyed walking around and just hanging out in such a peaceful, beautiful place. Kimberly is very thorough and detailed, I appreciate that a lot. We will check out another property here and stay longer next time!

The journey up the mountain was so worth it! I arrived to solo camp and was greeted by a welcoming dog and my host! I felt so safe, well taken care of, and the campsite was gorgeous. Bathrooms were great, and I had such a lovely time. It even rained so I slept like a log. Thank you so much for a lovely camping experience!

Our stay at the Bee Box RV site was absolutely incredible! The spot was impeccably clean, peaceful, and surrounded by beautiful scenery. The setup is fantastic, with a great covered patio, relaxing fire pit, and a spotless private bathroom.
The staff was exceptionally friendly. A special shoutout to David, who gave us a warm welcome and a wonderful tour of the property. While there, we bought some of their olive oil and fresh pressed pomegranate juice, hands down the best I’ve ever had! Highly recommend this beautiful, scenic getaway. We'll be back!
