Sacred Springs A phenomenal, sacred riparian corridor. Sacred Springs offers a retreat for seekers of serenity and spiritual renewal. Just up the creek from the iconic Montezuma Castle National Monument and down from the enchanting Montezuma Well. Your journey will begin long before you arrive, as you enter into the sacred river valley and embark on the primitive road that leads to our desert oasis. From our campsites, you'll have the remarkable opportunity to witness the echoes of the past and the pulse of the present, as the nearby I-17 highway traces the path of this ancient route. As travelers journey along this prehistoric corridor, their footsteps echo those of countless generations who traversed these lands long before us. —Driving atop the mesa, you'll feel the powerful frequency of the desert enveloping you and by the time you reach Sacred Springs you’ll sense, the immense potential for transformation and connection that awaits you.— Our campsites have breathtaking, panoramic sunrise and sunset views overlooking a powerful confluence of Wet Beaver Creek and Dry Beaver Creek. While Sacred Springs offers a breathtaking retreat amidst the beauty of nature, it's important to note the inherent dangers of our unique landscape. Perched on a cliff 60 feet above the creek, our property boasts stunning views and serene surroundings—but it also requires vigilance and care. The terrain here is steep and unforgiving, reminding us to slow down and savor each moment mindfully. (Please, remain on trails at all times.) With every step, it's crucial to remain fully present, ensuring proper footing and safe navigation at all times. —As you explore the wonders of Sacred Springs, let this be an opportunity to hone your senses and cultivate a deeper connection with the earth beneath your feet. Picture yourself immersed in the rich history of the Hisat'sinom, sitting in a cave dwelling pondering about the daily lives of the ancients. You'll have the opportunity to reconnect with yourself, and to heal. Relax fully immersed in a natural riparian corridor as you hike along the creek, find your peace in one of our hammock swings next to the creek, or witness the breathtaking sunrise and sunset, from the best seat in Arizona. —With mindfulness and respect for the land, may your visit be one of discovery, growth, and profound reverence for the natural world. Sun & Moon Geo Dome Retreat

2 sites · Lodging2 acres · Dewey, AZ
It seems like nearly everyone who comes here says this is a peaceful place!  It's like being out in the country whilst still being close enough to so many things, halfway between Sedona and Prescott, in a neighborhood with dirt roads and farm animals in which horses have the right away. The mountains are hypnotic. The air is clean. The stars are breathtaking. You can see the Milky Way on a clear night. The sunsets and sunrises are gorgeous and we see a lot of double rainbows here. The dome is fully furnished for 4 people. Inside there's a queen bed, futon, clean linens, table w/chairs, portable a/c, electric heater; propane heater, lamps, microwave (for indoor cooking), ice maker, Keurig coffee maker, mini-fridge, USB & outlets for small devices (light electrical usage only), and WIFI is available. Plus a yoga mat, books, & a binder with food and sightseeing recommendations for the area. Outside there's a picnic table, propane grill with side burner, propane firepit with comfortable seating surrounding. The clear dome windows are showing signs of aging, so the best star and sunset/sunrise viewing is outside. The outhouse building is equipped with a camping toilet, pump sink, and a camping shower (now heated!). One towel per guest, grill utensils, cups, and plate ware provided. Bring disposables if you do not want to wash your own dishes. Most of the time guests are able to park next to the dome but sometimes, weather depending, it will be necessary to park and walk in about a hundred feet away from the dome. Also on the property you'll find a walking path carved out through the trees behind the dome with a medicine wheel and labyrinth. The property is located in a rural neighborhood so there are other houses around, but at a far distance, with still plenty of privacy.  There are lots of animals like cardinals, hawks, owls, blue jays, roadrunners, hummingbirds, jackrabbits, cottontails, coyotes, and mule deer.  Farm animals like donkeys make sounds in the distance which is pretty comical at times. There are occasional sightings of beer, wolves, and mountain lions. The location is central to so many incredible places to explore. Within an hour each direction, there is distinctly different natural terrain to discover. Our local Mortimer Farm is 7 miles away and has a bakery (breakfast/sandwiches/treats), seasonal activities including pick your own food, farm dancing, and monthly farm to table dinners. We also have a local winery, golf course, café, pizzeria, subway and BBQ restaurant.  Here are some of the sight seeing possibilities you could use this location to launch from, just to get your mind percolating: Grand Canyon (2.5 hours)Devil’s Bridge (Sedona) Cathedral rock (Sedona) Bell Rock (Sedona) Oak Creek Canyon (Sedona) Bumblebee Giant Saguaros (North Phoenix) Watson’s Lake (Prescott) Granite Dels (Prescott) Ghost Town Tour (Jerome) Lowell Observatory (Flagstaff) Wupatki National Monument (Flagstaff) Sunset Crater Volcano National Monument (Flagstaff) Arizona Snowbowl (Flagstaff) Antelope Canyon (Page) Lake Powell (Page) Horseshoe Bend (Page) Petrified Forest National Park (2.75 hours) Meteor Crater National Landmark (2 hours) Walnut Canyon National Monument (Flagstaff) Montezuma Castle National Monument and Well (Camp Verde) Out of Africa Wildlife Park (Camp Verde) Desert Botanical Gardens (Phoenix) Wine Tasting (Page Springs) It's my intention that anyone who stays here, leaves more nourished in spirit, more firmly planted in their true selves and more deeply in alignment with nature's rhythm. Looking forward to your visit!

We provide a propane heater to take the chill off on cool nights. It's the easiest, most comfortable camping ever! Our eco-friendly experience is designed with the health-conscious guest in mind. Everything is natural and organic—from the shampoo to the salt to the coffee. We use only green, non-toxic cleaning products. A private gazebo with picnic table is situated steps from the tent, providing a respite from the sun and a place to hang out, relax, sip coffee, and enjoy meals. WHO IS THIS FOR? * A romantic couple getaway. * Adventurous folks who want to try something new. * Travelers who want to try camping but don't want to go without all the comforts * Nature-based folks who want to see stars, breathe fresh air, and see big views. * Hikers, bikers, and site seers who want to be very close to Sedona but don't want to stay right in the hustle and bustle and its associated high costs. WHAT TO EXPECT ON THE LAND: Our property borders 10K acres of the national forest, but the tent is not in the middle of nowhere. We are at the edge of a residential neighborhood, and Mingus Ave is 1/2 mile away. This provides a unique experience of living close to nature, yet it is conveniently only 17 minutes to Sedona and 5 minutes to Old Town Cottonwood. Expect to see a couple of other houses, hear some traffic noise, and possibly hear a few barking dogs. If you're a light sleeper, there is a sound machine and ear plugs available. OFF GRID: The tent itself is "off-grid". The space is lit by battery and solar-powered lights. The kitchen space has the power to charge your devices. There are no outlets in the tent. WIFI is unavailable in the space, as we encourage our guests to connect to nature. However, most providers offer good cell phone coverage. The tent is heated by a propane heater, but there is no air conditioning. It is very comfortable camping, but it is still camping! KITCHEN: ***The kitchen/bathhouse and porta-potty are shared spaces with one other tent. There is plenty of privacy at your tent if you desire or make friends with like-minded travelers.*** The outdoor kitchen is fully equipped with hot and cold running water, a gas grill, a cook stove, and all the necessary tools to prepare a delicious meal in the great outdoors. Organic coffee, herbal tea, organic olive oil, raw honey, Himalayan salt, and pepper are also provided. BATH / SHOWER: Enjoy an inspiring, heated outdoor shower in pure well water, complete with privacy walls that still let the sun and stars shine through. The spacious bathroom includes a hot/cold water sink and a spacious changing area. We have a regularly cleaned and sanitized porta-potty for the toilet arrangements. WEATHER & THE ELEMENTS: During the summer months, the tent gets quite hot inside. Most people are out exploring during this time, so it's not a big deal. We can share some lovely creekside swimming spots for cooling dips. The temps cool quickly at sundown, and the tent gets comfortable immediately. In the winter, temperatures can dip below freezing. Make sure to bring a heavy sleeping bag (or borrow ours) and warm clothes for hanging out by the fire or in the kitchen. PACKING LIST: * Flashlight or headlamp * Sleeping bag or bedding (or borrow ours at no cost) * Cooler and ice * Wood for fire pit (unless there is a fire ban in the summer) HIKE & BIKE OUT THE BACK DOOR: If you have a desire to explore, there is an epic hiking and mountain biking trail network that can be accessed right from the property. Contact us when you're here, and we can show you where to go. IS THIS A FAMILY ADVENTURE? If you bring kids or a third guest, we can provide you with a thick, comfortable sleeping pad or cot. You are also welcome to set up a separate tent for the kids.
