Weekend Trip to A Hideaway at Holloway's

We loved camping at Hideaway at Holloway’s. Tracey, our host, is very knowledgeable about the area and surrounding areas and gave an extensive list of ideas of places to go and delicious places to eat. It is such the perfect place to stay. There was a veggie garden that we were also able to use. Our labradoodle loved the short two minute walk to the beach that was very dog friendly. The locals in the area are very friendly too and offered great advice for fishing spots! It looks just as the pictures show. We will definitely be back.

What a great find this place is! Almost don't want to leave a review to keep it a hidden secret but it's too good not to share. Easy check in by our lovely host. Clean and tidy site with everything a stones throw away - beach, restaurants, bottle shop, laundromat. Walk to the beach in less than a minute, our little dog LOVED it as much as we did!! Wish we could have stayed longer - we will be back on our return journey for sure :)

Tracey was so lovely, accommodating helpful as a first time hipcamp customer. Her camp site was neat, tidy, quite and Secure. We have a very long van and Tracey was happy to help us getting parked up. The little garden beds have little lights making a nice outdoor setting. We loved our time here.

1 night at Hartleys Creek Retreat

The campsite is composed of spacious sites and private cabins with people who seem to stay permanently. The atmosphere is lush green and friendly with a river running through the property. We camped by a covered terrace with a huge bbq and dinner table which was great since it was raining. A highlight was to see crocodiles in the river just next to the campground.

1 night at Hartleys Creek Retreat

We enjoyed two nights at this creek-side campground. Dean is a helpful host, and the site is a mix of camp spacers and a few long term residents. The area feels very secure and peaceful, and it’s obvious that Dean is continually upgrading the amenities in practical ways (better wifi, improving the bath & laundry facilities, creating a long entry avenue framed by LillyPilli trees), and discrete placemaking touches like solar festoon lights and creek-side hammocks. This is not so much a bush camp as a friendly community, with happy dogs that visit to say hello and a welcoming host who makes sure you have everything you need for a relaxed and trouble-free stay.

My stay at Three Falls was amazing, Nisha is such a gracious host and all round lovely person. The fire was kindly stocked with kindling and thoughtfully kept dry, was even gifted a couple eggs. The gardens offered a private spot all to my self and was a mini rainforest retreat, can’t recommend enough. Thanks Nisha!

I had a great stay with Dean at Hartleys Creek Retreat! One of the unique aspects of the property is that there are a few people who live on-site permanently, which really adds to the welcoming and communal atmosphere. It was nice knowing there was always someone around for a chat or to lend a hand if needed. The setting felt safe and friendly, and the locals gave the place a warm, lived-in vibe that made the experience even more memorable. Would definitely recommend for anyone looking for a relaxed and social camping spot!

Weekend Trip to Pamona Park, nr Gordonvale

We loved tent camping at pamona park. Chris and helen are very warm and welcoming even the dogs and the horses. It is very private and we really felt secure. We had a really relaxed weekend and we will definitely want to go back. Chris also gave us pomelos to take back home which is nice. Pomelos are really sweet too 👍

1 night at Barrine Farmstay And Camping

Lovely peaceful farmstay surrounded by cows and chooks, and it was so good to hear roosters crowing in the morning. Not to mention fresh laid eggs! The weather didn't allow us to have a campfire unfortunately - maybe next time. A nice short drive from Cairns with plenty of contact pre-visit.

Dean our host has been very welcoming with great tips about the area. The campsite is on a beautiful stretch of land with lovely people and clean fresh facilities. Definitely would recommend with a 10/10 experience and would stay again if in the area!!!

We stayed overnight and it was a great spot with plenty of space, very peaceful and private with just a short walk to the toilet/shower. Nisha was a fantastic host and we highly recommend this for anyone travelling through the area looking for an easy spot to stay.

The site is tucked right next to a gentle creek, which made for a soothing backdrop of flowing water day and night. Great spot, camping on a cleared paddock in a quiet hilly area. Good clean shower and toilet facilities. Limited shade so best to byo. A couple of other campers were sharing the paddock of approx 2 acres but had plenty of room. Had fun patting the cows and feeding the chooks. Recommended if you're just getting started camping and want to ease your way into it, testing your camping setup or if you just want the feeling of camping without the hassle of making your own toilet and shower. Good for a couple of nights. Take a good book, comfortable chair and relax.

We were greeted by Mick and Nerida who were wonderful. The site has a great bathroom and shower making it glamping. The location is at the foothills of the Daintree Forrest’s. We were given a tour of the farm and the history of the farm. A great tour to take if offered. Would recommend Mick and Nerida to anyone who wants to spend a hassle free camping trip near the Daintree. My wife and I give them 5 stars.

Our 20-acre exotic fruit farm backs onto World heritage rainforest and provides a relaxing base for which to explore the wet tropics south of Cairns. We have a beautiful freshwater swimming hole down the road, and also the Mulgrave River is very close if you want to do some fishing.The camping area is large, grassy and reasonably level, with space closer to the tree line, and space more out in the open. There is a firepit provided, and plenty of firewood around the place for you to help yourself to. We also welcome four-legged family members! We have had recent sightings of cassowary on our property so keep an eye out, you might just see one!We prefer self-contained campers, who have their own amenities, but we do have a toilet and shower up at the main house (about 50 metres away) you are welcome to use if needed. This is an unused bathroom downstairs so you will still have privacy. Access into the property is not suitable for large motorhomes. Entry will be too small for vehicles approx 8.5 metres long and 3.5 metres high.We grow exotic fruit on the property including limes, pomelos, mangosteens and more. When it's in season, you're welcome to sample some! Gordonvale is the nearest town, with a quiet historic charm, just 15 minutes drive away, while Cairns is around 25 minutes.
