Access to the property is fourteen kilometres gravel, coming off the highway.

Three spacious spots are available a few short meters from the edge of a large dam (sites can be seen from the farm road) with another completely secluded site amongst the bushland. Do some hiking or 4 wheel driving around the hundred acres with our 4 wheel driving tracks.
Meet the Farm Animals where campers can chat with the menagerie of animals we have on the farm such as Clydesdale horses, camels, sheep, cows, chickens, buffalo, peafowl, ducks and friendly geese. Hold newly hatched poultry, friendly chickens and maybe even lambs. Bookings are essential come by the farmhouse and meet at the gazebo.
We are 10mins from Dimbulah or 20mins to Mareeba with their many attractions. We can tell you all about the many attractions and activities this area has to offer.
Please Note: Cattle Creek and Waterfront Campsites are accessible by 2WD. The other campsites are 4WD access only and with off road campers/caravans only (high clearance to get through a dry creek crossing). These are self contained sites so please take your own shower and toilet facilities and take away all waste. Well behaved dogs are allowed but must be supervised at all times for the protection of the sheep, poultry, wildlife and not to be brought to the house yard. Sorry no motorbikes or ATV’s.

We do offer plenty of space and you will not be crowded out as we keep numbers very limited. No facilities, no toilets, showers, electricity, rubbish bins etc. We do ask that you respect this as you must be fully self contained. We do not consider, a bucket with a lid, to be self contained ok!
Right now though in our top dam, we have a flock of White Egrets roosting at night, spectacular when they depart & return each day, however due to the number of these birds, hundreds if not more! they have fouled the water in the dam & it's a bit on the nose.

Access to the property is fourteen kilometres gravel, coming off the highway.

Three spacious spots are available a few short meters from the edge of a large dam (sites can be seen from the farm road) with another completely secluded site amongst the bushland. Do some hiking or 4 wheel driving around the hundred acres with our 4 wheel driving tracks.
Meet the Farm Animals where campers can chat with the menagerie of animals we have on the farm such as Clydesdale horses, camels, sheep, cows, chickens, buffalo, peafowl, ducks and friendly geese. Hold newly hatched poultry, friendly chickens and maybe even lambs. Bookings are essential come by the farmhouse and meet at the gazebo.
We are 10mins from Dimbulah or 20mins to Mareeba with their many attractions. We can tell you all about the many attractions and activities this area has to offer.
Please Note: Cattle Creek and Waterfront Campsites are accessible by 2WD. The other campsites are 4WD access only and with off road campers/caravans only (high clearance to get through a dry creek crossing). These are self contained sites so please take your own shower and toilet facilities and take away all waste. Well behaved dogs are allowed but must be supervised at all times for the protection of the sheep, poultry, wildlife and not to be brought to the house yard. Sorry no motorbikes or ATV’s.

We do offer plenty of space and you will not be crowded out as we keep numbers very limited. No facilities, no toilets, showers, electricity, rubbish bins etc. We do ask that you respect this as you must be fully self contained. We do not consider, a bucket with a lid, to be self contained ok!
Right now though in our top dam, we have a flock of White Egrets roosting at night, spectacular when they depart & return each day, however due to the number of these birds, hundreds if not more! they have fouled the water in the dam & it's a bit on the nose.

The grounds are beautiful with amazing views.
The site had a shower, toilet and area to cook aswell as a place to light a fire. The hosts were so friendly and we wished we had longer to stay and enjoy the area more.

Just a beautiful experience, we stayed at the water Lilly site, close to the dam.
The animal feeding exceeded our expectations, all the animals were so friendly and gorgeous, we had the best time. Will definitely be back

Theresa, Frank, and Buzz were all lovely hosts while we were camping on their beautiful property. We woke up each morning to fresh fruit and phenomenal suggestions on what to do in the area. They were extremely welcoming and we would definitely stay again! They have all the facilities you would need as well.

We had a great time at Deans property. The area & amenities were really clean and the campsites are right in the nature. Both Dean and his brother Chris were super friendly and helped us with everything we needed. We can also recommend visiting Hartley’s Crocodile Adventure, as ist is right next door. Overall we really enjoyed our time here and would happily visit again!

Had a wonderful time camping with my dog at Twitchers Hill. Great birdwatching without needing to drive anywhere and fabulous hosts and facilities. My second visit and I can't wait to come back. Thanks Theresa for a lovely stay again.

Heidi and Mike are absolutely lovely and were so helpful. The camping spot is gorgeous and very private. We were lucky to have baby saw-shelled turtles hatch in the evening - we noticed them when they crawled right over our feet in the dark!

Magical little retreat. A warm welcoming by the host encouraging us to explore this gorgeous property. We will be back with our children for another swim in the creek! The facilities are brilliant too, the bathroom looks like it belongs in a show home, so fresh, new and clean. We are very thankful for our stay and would encourage others to visit.

Well am most impressed with Heidi and Mikes property, a right little gem in the heart of the tablelands, so quiet, secluded and private but with some amenities! We saw some Platypus, we ate fresh eggs and we had a wicked thunderstorm to deal with, and yet still enjoyed our stay, we will be back, hopefully without the storms! See you next time!

Hartleys Creek Retreat pleasantly surprised us with beautiful creek-side, large and well maintained sites. Dean greeted us apon arrival providing guidance and site information as well as hints & tips for the immediate area. The amenities are modern, clean and easily accessible from all sites. Hartleys Creek Retreat is well located between Port Douglas and Cairns and an easy drive to must see attractions in the area. Dean & family go WAY beyond to help make sure everyone is comfortable.
Creek is beautiful & filled very quick with rain
Walk to the falls was great.
Amenities area are immaculately kept & a credit to how well the family run it

We had a wonderful stay here. Dean is an incredibly kind and welcoming host—he greeted us at the gate, showed us around the campground, and shared lots of helpful local advice. The atmosphere is very calm and relaxing, and the bathrooms were spotless and well maintained. The campground has everything you need for a comfortable stay, and being able to take a refreshing dip in the creek was a real highlight. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a peaceful and well-run camping experience.
