Our campground is located 30km west of Mount Surprise North QLD. It is only a kilometre off the Gulf Development Rd highway and is close to the bank of the Einasleigh River.

Great part of the river with some good flat sites with river views. Unfortunately the Council are still pumping water from the river. Once the water pumping has stopped, we’ll be back.

Nice peaceful camp overlooking the river. Only 1 km off the main road. Good spot to stay and you can visit the gorge at Einasleigh.

Einasleigh River Campground was an amazing place! It was so pretty and peaceful. Lots of black Bream in the river for the keen fisherman.
While there are water trucks filling up nearby, the drivers are very mindful of making as little noise as possible, especially the first trip of the day which is around 7 am.
Great spot to relax, go fishing and enjoy nature. Lots of bird life. Just a beautiful place. We will be back for sure

Thankyou Kate for providing access to this lovely camp. So peaceful and beautiful beside the river. There is still a large, noisy water pump operating, but the trucks only come down a few times a day, run the pump for 15mins then leave again, so not a major intrusion. Lots of birds, we saw the freshwater croc hunting. It's only a freshie, but I was not tempted to get into the water! The camps near the river are mostly gently sloping, plenty of shade. There are areas to camp at the top of the riverbank that provide beautiful views of the river and are level, a short, rough walk down to the river. The river edges are rough going, being scoured out from flooding. Grubs have left toilet paper around, some of which we collected and burnt

Quiet, well spaced sites, easy 2-wheel drive access. Plenty of firewood. Would have been great to have a small boat or canoe to explore the river & island in the river.

Could be more precise directions and possibly while road workers near by get them to grade some flat camp sites if possible but otherwise very peaceful and lots of wildlife

We had such a relaxing stay at this beautiful Hipcamp spot. The setting was peaceful and uncrowded, which made it feel like our own little slice of nature. Our dogs absolutely loved it—plenty of space to explore and splash around, and we loved watching them enjoy themselves so freely.
The river was the highlight for us: calm, scenic, and the perfect backdrop for unwinding. Whether it was morning coffee by the water or an afternoon nap in the shade, everything about this place encouraged us to slow down and soak it all in.
Highly recommend for anyone looking to disconnect and enjoy some quality time with their furry companions. We’ll definitely be back!

Big thanks to Kate for hosting us at Einasleigh River Campground! The site was clean, peaceful, and we loved being able to have a campfire .The river was gorgeous and full of fish — perfect for relaxing and casting a line. Highly Recommended
