Pets are welcome but must be under control at all times. We have a passion for the environment, agriculture and reducing the amount of waste created by humans, we try to reuse and repurposing as much of our own and others waste as possible. GLOWS Garden Centre Camp is set in a large field backing onto world heritage rainforest to the East/South and adjoining Garden Centre and Raw Materials Yard to the north. We have only opened 4 lovely grassy sites. Our Hipcamp opened September 2024 and only 200m away is a cafe at our Garden Centre for a great coffee 6 days a week! You will need to be self-sufficient however we do have toilets available between 7am and 5pm in the adjoining Garden Centre carpark. Also available is a large cold water washing machine (gold coin donation). We are located on Tully Mission Beach Road with the bike path between Wongaling Beach and Mission Beach running right past the front gates, so a quick ride into town and plenty of space to bring your boat! We your hosts, (Nancy and Shane) operate the adjoining Garden Centre and Raw Materials yard so there is always something happening and with vast local knowledge of what to do and where to go, we are only happy to help. Opened in September 2024 we have planted a tropical fruit forest plantation as well as citrus orchard and with our 50 beautiful free-range chooks (pets) you will have them wandering around freely, clucking away happily.

It is very peaceful and quiet at night. Great for star gazing, as there is low light pollution. You can walk to the beach in around 10-15 minutes. Shops are a little further and include post office, tourist information, restaurants and cafes, clothing, massage, Lennie's fruit shop and a small supermarket. You can purchase take away alcohol from The Tavern in the main shopping area. Woolworth supermarket, chemist, banks and bottles-shops are in Wongaling, about 10 a minute drive.

Flaggy Creek Caravan Camp is set on a 260 acre rural property set aside for wildlife offering a peaceful and relaxing place to escape the daily grind. Please read this description to the end to make sure our campsites are right for you (click show more). Our Hipcamp, (owners on site), is small scale to minimise environmental impact; we have six sites spaced well apart for privacy; each site catering up to two adult guests only (18+) and one vehicle. * Camp 5 permits 1 dog see Rules when booking; All other campsites strictly No Pets * Solo travelers are encouraged to book, many who have commented not feeling overwhelmed by large groups or too isolated. If you are booking for others please let them know they will need to set up at their booked site. Please do not invite additional guests to enter the property. You will need to be fully self-contained: own toilet, drinking water, shower. Our Hipcamp is situated in a cool climate, away from the humidity of the coast. A highlight is beautiful permanent Flaggy Creek which meanders its way through the property for approximately 1 km and is habitat to platypus, turtles and an abundance of bird life (we are close to an ebird hotspot) with towering blue and rose gums. Take a dip on a hot day in one of several water holes including a large lagoon adjacent a mini waterfall surrounded by beautiful she-oaks. There are walks on mowed tracks around the property (look for large eastern grey kangaroos in the top paddock) including along a dam wall where you might spot herons or rainbow bee eaters (seasonally) and we can give you directions to a fire-trail to hike up to the Bluff. Herberton (10 mins) also has many excellent walking trails. All camp sites have their own fire pit (local conditions and/or state fire ban season permitting). We sell large crates of split firewood for $20 or you can collect your own. Please do not bring firewood for biosecurity reasons. During the wet season (December-April) we recommend 4WD to access the property as there is a concrete causeway creek crossing and on rare occasions this can become impassable with an extreme amount of rain but does go down very quickly once rain has eased. Please take care and go slowly on unsealed roads. Please ask for permission to fly drones.

A smaller paver firepit, plenty fine for sitting around an open fire while watching the stars at night. Swimming in the creek is not recommended. Weekend Trip to GLOWS Garden Centre Camp

We had a fantastic stay at this place. The site was spacious, giving us plenty of room to relax and enjoy the surroundings. The host was incredibly friendly and welcoming, which made our stay even more enjoyable. We originally booked for three nights but loved it so much that we extended our stay for an extra night. It was also great to have access to a washing machine, available for a small donation, which was a really thoughtful and convenient touch. Sheree and her brother were both very welcoming and friendly. Our camp site was stunning and very private. We had the little dam all to ourselves for our whole stay. We loved lighting up the fire each evening and watching the turtles.

5 nights at Baroomby Bush Camp

What a wonderful little place. Erica was a terrific host, very friendly and super helpful. The site is private with amazing views, it is the only hipcamp site on the property and you have the area to yourself. There is a bore water tank you can use also. Lots of improvements happening to the site to make it better for future hipcampers. We got to be the first to try the outdoor claw foot bath tub watching the sun set. Highly recommended and we hope to visit again. Wish more hipcamp properties offered privacy like Baroomby Bush Camp

Camped our 19 foot caravan on the site 2 thoroughly enjoyed it. View to rainforest gorgeous. Roosters, chooks, turkeys, wandering around. Beautiful nursery and very close to townships Mission Beach and the Woolworths store.

Absolutely well maintained beautiful property. Unfortunately we had a bit of rain but didn’t dampen our spirits. Toilet and shower available which was nice. Close to visit Tully township and Alligators Nest and Tully Gorge. The other sites were all lovely as well. Friendly host, easy to chat to and great communication. Would highly recommend this place.

Great spot for camping, everything is very well maintained and even though it was very wet the site we were on had compacted gravel so no issues at all. Sheree was very helpful. Highly recommend!

Sheree was a wonderful welcoming host. Firewood delivery and intel on the animal names and where the kids might find a turtle or tabby. Great to have the amenities right nearby, a lovely clean shower and toilet out of the weather. Was grey and wet when we visited but the view was still great!
