Lovely surroundings. Lots of green grass and a nice creek nearby. Fires are allowed so that is great. Very quiet and only two sites make this a lovely spot to stay.

Lovely spot down by the river, well away from highway noise aside from some local traffic. Superbly maintained site with gorgeous grass you can run around barefoot with no worries.
Beautiful, clear, not-too-deep river for a dip.
The small ‘crop-dusting’ planes (non-chemical) from the neighbouring banana plantations wake you up just before sunrise (midweek camping) but wouldn’t be an issue for early risers.
Ray is a friendly host who isn’t far away if needed.

Absolutely beautiful spot to set up and spend the weekend. Had a nice private and quiet spot to set up next to the campfire and enjoy some amazing views of the stunning garden and wildlife. The creek on his property is a perfect swimming hole with clear flowing water that I basically slept in. Will definitely be visiting again soon!

We loved the large site, the swimming hole, the bird life, the privacy, the firepit, meeting Ray and Trish and seeing their amazing garden. We will definitely be going back to this amazing Hipcamp.

The location is perfect away from the world. The grounds are well-kept with big shady trees. The creek was the best part. We spent Christmas Day having a beautiful lunch and swimming. The water was clear and perfect. Ray the host greeted us on arrival and explained the area to us, then left us to our Christmas.

So much space to yourself and beautiful private swimming hole. Showers and firewood provided also.
10 minutes from josephine falls.
We will be back for Sure, 10/10 recommend.

We had a beautiful few hours with our family on Christmas Day for a Christmas lunch and swim. The grounds are amazing. The water was crystal clear and deep. We took our water inflatables with us. Ray the host had great communication from booking right through to greeting us when we arrived.
This was a very special experience.

Highly recommend this stay!
Ray and Patricia were very accomodating when we made a booking last minute. Ray went above and beyond during our stay showing us to our campsite late, giving us recommendations about the area and showing us around their incredible vanilla farm in the morning.
We stayed in many campsites during our Queensland road trip - this was by far our favourite. The area is peaceful and serene on the foot of the mountains and rainforest. We had the whole camp area to ourselves which is very private but large enough for groups. The property has a lovely creek through it which is beautiful for a morning or evening swim! Ray also has a lovely campfire next to the creek for those who want to use. Highly recommend for any couples, friends or families, Ray’s properties has something for everyone!

We Met Ray, was A great fella showed us around his vanilla bean farm and explained the process (very interesting) great spot to camp we stayed at the traveler's rest which is 1 of 2 camping spots located closer to the road ,,
If I was to recommend get the spot closer to the river but ray sorted some firewood and was super accomodating ,
over all had a great stay would come back again for the river spot not travelers rest !

An absolutely beautiful spot! It was very relaxing sitting by the creek & watching the wild life.
Ray was very welcoming & keeps the property immaculate. The extra touches like the structure to put your porter potty & shower in, fire pits & chairs over looking the creek, access to fresh water etc make this such an easy place to spend a few days camping & show how much thought Ray has put into the set up to make you feel at home!

An amazing total experience - the location of beautifully manicured lawns, straight down to the river, fire pit, loads of room - combined with abundant bird life, finding out how vanilla beans are grown, seeing the diversity of tropical fruits - is all wrapped up by two welcoming and knowledgeable hosts in Ray and Patricia. Simply brilliant three days!

We stayed at the Travellers Rest site. When we first got there we were disappointed that this site is directly next to the road (and it says this site is pet friendly) when there is a cow paddock right across from this. You have to walk through someone else’s camp site to get to the creek which is not ideal. You will be right next to the vanilla bean green house where the owners are going through there at 8am, and the owner had specified to us he would sing out when he is in there so we wouldn’t feel as if he is watching what we are doing, but to our surprise no one said anything in the morning. The owners walked past our camp continuously throughout our stay which made us feel as if we were being watched. I can’t comprehend that we had to pay $60 per night to stay next to the road whereas the site next to the creek and is a lot bigger and is the exact same price. I personally found that paying $60 per night to sleep next to the road with roaring motorbikes, trucks and cars going past and noisy neighbours having doof parties is 100% NOT worth this price. We were deeply disappointed as this site was falsely advertised. The photos do not show nor does the description say you’ll be directly next to the road (not even 20 meters away from the road) I would not recommend this camp site if you have kids, pets or want a relaxing time away. Save your money and go somewhere else.

Beautiful and peaceful camping spot with easy access to the creek for a refreshing dip. We really appreciated the firepit and comfy chairs within view of the creek and the might mountains in the background. What a view! We camped in a tent and it was lovely to fall asleep to the sound of the water flowing over the rapids.
Ray was really friendly and welcoming and made us feel right at home. Highly recommended☺

A beautiful spot right near the vlear running creek. Easy access for our 2WD hyundai Iload. Immaculate surroundings with grassed area which was so lovely. Ray was so friendly and helpful. A great place to base yourself to check out the region which has so much to do.

Loved the quiet space Ray provided. The area was very well kept with an out house, large clean grassy area, concrete fire pit and creek running next to the area was an added bonus. Highly recommend and will definitely return.

Nice peaceful spot with green grass. Fire pit and a shed to put porti potty and hang a shower if needed (we had a caravan so didnt use). Two nice swimming holes in the clear creek. Ray was a friendly and welcoming host, would love to stay again soon. Thanks Ray!

A beautiful little spot just north of Innisfail. There is a clear, fresh creek to swim meters from the tent site, and you have the whole site you book to yourself (which is quite private too).. The grass is beautifully groomed and there is a lovely view of the mountains in the distance. Ray was friendly and responsive. Honestly 10/10, couldn’t fault it.

Beautiful property, we were lucky enough to have the place to ourselves. Lovely little creek to have a swim. The amenities were fantastic for setting up own toilet and shower. If you’re looking for somewhere quiet and relaxing this is the place. I will be back for sure 😊 the host Ray was every helpful to show us where to go and then left us to relax.
