2 nights at Dolwen Riverside Camping

This is a gorgeous spot. There are eight pitches and all but one was taken when we arrived for the first night. But they are so widely spaced out that it feels very quiet even when it is full. It was mostly families when were there. The second night we had it all to ourselves. David came out to meet us when we arrived and was very friendly and helpful. Both in person and when responding to a question via the app. Loos, kitchen and showers were all clean tidy and in good working order. Basically have not got a bad thing to say about this place.

Absolutely lovely little site, not too far from lake vyrnwy and the hosts were brilliant. Would 100% recommend for anyone looking to camp near lake vyrnwy

The farm was superb! So relaxing and peaceful, perfect facilities! Would love to stay again ! We spent two days relaxing in the sun! Janice and paul made us feel welcome and left us to own devices but we're on hand if we needed them

I loved absolutely everything about this campsite! I was so excited to find one that had everything I was looking for and didn't have a strict leaving time as a bonus! The views, are amazing, the facilities are always clean with plenty loo roll. The loos are big enough to get changed in, perfect for those with little tents. Plenty fire pits and Janice comes along early evening to welcome and sells logs at a decent price. Janice was very welcoming and gave us directions to the nearest villages, and the stepping stones pictured on their ad. The walks around there came as a really unexpected surprise, absolutely stunning and amazing! It's like going back to dinosaur times walking along the river in the ravine. We had to ask a few people where the stepping stones are as there's no Internet in the ravine. (perfect signal on the campsite) I loved that everyone was a bit lost down there and we were all helping each other out without any Google maps. Perfect for us! 2 female friends, in our 50s, small camper with 2 dogs. Superb!!

Great location with all the essentials covered. Clean toilets and showers, lots of electric hook up pitches and nice pubs within walking distance. What more could you need?!

Janice & Paul's communications beforehand were spot on - welcoming with great directions to the campsite. The campsite was just what we were looking for - a reasonable price for the basics. (Similar to childhood memories of camping back in the day) Facilities kept very clean. In the morning was great to see the sun come up over the hills & lambs gambling in the adjacent field - lovely location. Would definitely return.

Cute little campsite on a farm around a mile from the Monsal Trail and two lovely pubs. Toilets kept clean throughout the weekend. Great base for a weekend in the Peaks.

Friendly warden did what he could when we arrived. Views were amazing, campfires are a must at this site. The showers are nice and hot. Mostly clean even when it was wet. Would be good if they could advertise some local walks as these aren’t easily sign posted.

Ruth was absolutely fantastic. Lovely location and it was nice to be nestled away on her farm. Honestly though, we'd come back just to spend some time just to have lively intelligent conversation with Ruth. If you're looking for a fully catered experience with all the bells and whistles then this place isn't for you. If you're looking for your basic needs to he met and have a respect for the land then look no further.

Weekend Trip to Knotted Roots eco-stay camping

The 4 of us has a great time at Knotted Routes orchard camping! We had an amazing stay and the hosts were great!! The orchard is beautiful and rustic in a quiet and beautiful area - we did a lovely walk to Ludlow through the countryside on one lf the days! Highlight of the trip being the Pizza Oven; all setup for us, we brought our own toppings, they tasted amazing! Certainly a back to basics camping trip, which was perfect for us! Thank you both!

Janice and Paul were lovely and helped us when needed. the land was beautiful and easy to get to with lovely access to the monsal trail and many other walking paths. 10/10 would recommend
