Surrounded by lush greenery and open skies, our property offers a quiet escape just far enough from city life to breathe deep and slow down. We have a 7 acre developing hobby farm currently with fruit trees, a garden, a king shepherd named Jack and a cat named Lulu. You may see some of our neighbour's ducks walking around and hear their rooster in the morning. Please note; our driveway is an uphill, switchback driveway so long trailers are not a fit for our location. Front wheel or 4 wheel is a plus but typically all vehicles can make it up our driveway. We have 2 swimming holes near and backing our property. At the back of the property is Hayward Lake/Hairsine Creek which is great for swimming. Inflatable paddle boards are the way to go if you wish to paddle board in the lake since it would be difficult portaging a rigid paddle board down the Crown Land trail. On the front is the Stave River Runoff. This has trails and is ideal if you have smaller children as the water is a bit warmer and has shallow areas. There are hiking trails in the area and a beach area a short drive from the sites.

Our lake belongs to the beavers and ducks more than the humans. It’s an amazing place to watch, while swimming is best done at the river, a 5min drive away or half hour walk. A hike through the woods affords many opportunities to discover secret spots carved out of the wilderness with private views of the lake and surrounding properties. The rare wildlife around includes bobcats, bears, cougars, deer, elk and the occasional wolf. Ermine, rabbits and grouse are also common sightings. We have 2 dogs and appreciate a chance to introduce them to your dogs so they understand you’re authorized visitors, once you’ve settled in and your animals are comfortable. Thank you for your understanding! While there is a fire ban on it is ok to bring a propane stove or a propane fire pit, but we ask you let us know about it so we can help you site it safely and we can bring you watering cans to have on hand. Forest fires are a thing out here.. We thank you in advance for your cooperation on this.

Come unwind in Lucinda the Bigfoot, located in the luscious urban-countryside of the Fraser Valley. Tastefully decorated and thoughtfully furnished, Lucinda is a small 1984 Bigfoot fiberglass trailer, her updated interior nods graciously at her charming, vintage past. Relax in lawn chairs under an airy canopy, light the fire bowl, and listen to the singing birds in the morning and peeping frogs at night. Lucinda is conveniently located in Abbotsford near three famous Mt Lehman area wineries, Mission Bridge, great walking trails and mountain hikes, fantastic Mt Baker view, berry picking, boutique shopping, and the Abbotsford airport. Lucinda features all the comforts of home snugly assembled in one cozy room. Great for a quick stop, weekend stay, or fun alternative place to have a break. Lucinda has a toaster, tea kettle, pots, cast-iron pan, and all your basic kitchen needs. Feel free to use the stove-top to heat something up or call in a meal with SkipTheDishes or DoorDash. In need of a coffee fix? If you are feeling organic, help yourself to local whole beans, or we have ground coffee for a speedier option. Savour it in genuine vintage Denby stoneware! Enjoy our comfortable mattress, pillows, and high-quality linens. Towels, toiletries, and a clothes steamer are provided for your convenience. You can adjust the thermostat to your liking, and the MaxxFan air vent works like an A/C on summer nights to keep you comfortable. Lucinda has a small table for meals or working on your laptop. The bed is a small full-size bed and can accommodate one adult or two slender adults who like to be close together 😉. You can stretch out comfortably at a length of 6’3”. Due to the size of the trailer, it may not be suitable for children. There is not currently a TV, but you will have access to WiFi, so be sure to bring your laptop to cuddle up and watch your favorite shows or movies in bed! The bathroom is, frankly, a fairy-sized wet room – Lucinda is economical like that. It will give you a decent shower though and we provide bath towels, shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. The toilet is flushable, and we provide RV toilet paper that is made specifically for our RV plumbing system. The water heater works well and heats up pretty quickly. However, it is a standard RV water heater which means you'll have about 5-6 minutes of hot water until it heats up again. The shower head has a stop button to control water usage while you are showering. Lastly, please do not be surprised that Lucinda is small; she is small. However, we find her to be a comfortable resting place. -Guest access- You may use the outdoor areas located directly outside of the RV but please respect the area around the adjacent private residence as off limits.

Chilliwack Lake Provincial Park camping guide

Overview

About

Above the Canada-U.S. border in BC’s southern interior, Chilliwack Lake Provincial Park spans 9,122 hectares of old-growth forests and alpine ridges with 40 kilometres of hiking trails above a valley-bottom lake. Chilliwack Lake is the park’s highlight, for canoeing, kayaking, boating, and fishing, particularly for several varieties of trout. If you’re hardy, you can swim in the lake’s chilly waters. For campers, Chilliwack Lake has 146 front-country campsites in four vehicle-accessible campgrounds. The park’s four backcountry camping areas, Lindeman Lake, Greendrop Lake, Radium Lake, and Flora Lake, each have six walk-in sites. Chilliwack Lake Provincial Park is 150 kilometres east of Vancouver and 64 kilometres southeast of Chilliwack.

Notable campgrounds

  • Best for camping near the lake: Paleface Loop
  • Best for RV campers: Radium Loop
  • Best for remote adventures: Flora Lake backcountry camping area

Tips for snagging a campsite

  1. Reserve campsites online in advance through BC Parks’ Discover Camping site. Booking as far in advance as possible is always a good idea, particularly if you’re visiting between June and Labour Day or on weekends or holidays in spring or fall. Check the site well ahead of your trip to see when reservations will open for the season.
  2. If there are any sites at Chilliwack Lake that aren’t pre-booked, they’re available first-come, first-served.
  3. Backcountry campers must register and purchase a permit online in advance, but this registration isn’t a reservation; Chilliwack Lake’s backcountry sites are first-come, first-served.

When to go

Chilliwack Lake Provincial Park normally opens in late April or early May and closes in early October, although some campgrounds are open only until Labour Day. The park gates are locked the rest of the year, but it’s possible to walk in, weather permitting, year-round. Like most British Columbia parks, Chilliwack Lake is busiest throughout the summer. September/October is a cooler but somewhat less crowded alternative, as are the damper spring months of April and May. Expect snow at higher elevations between November and March.

Know before you go

  • The park’s campgrounds are at the north end of Chilliwack Lake, off Chilliwack Lake Road. From Vancouver, follow Highway 1 to Exit 104, then continue past Cultus Lake to Chilliwack Lake.
  • Although Chilliwack Lake Provincial Park is immediately north of North Cascades National Park in Washington State, there’s no direct road access between these two park areas. You’ll need to cross the international border at Sumas, Washington, south of Abbotsford BC.
  • For groceries and other supplies en route to the park, stop in Chilliwack or Abbotsford, which both have ample shopping options.
  • Facilities in Chilliwack Lake’s drive-in campgrounds include a sani-station, cold water taps, and pit toilets, but no flush toilets, showers, or cell phone service.
