Welcome to Forest & Farm Wilderness Retreat, our 32-acre homestead tucked into the Near-North Ontario woods. Here, meadows are alive with pollinators, trails wind through a mixed forest, and the sound of our forest waterfall invites you to slow down and reconnect with the Land. Our property offers a handful of unique rustic stays, each with its own charm. Whether you choose a cozy tent trailer set the bush, or one of our traditional tent sites, each spot comes with access to a fire pit, trails and the peace of the Forest. This is a place well-suited for those who love a blend of small farm/homestead life and wilderness quiet. You might meet our sheep, ducks, chickens, or rabbits, or spot deer or wild turkeys in the Forest. The many gardens and greenhouses are always changing with the seasons, and we’re happy to provide tours of our farm to visitors during their stay. Composting Outhouse Facilities are simple & eco-friendly, and a short walk from all of our stays Nearby, you’ll find Restoule Provincial Park, home to an incredible lookout point that’s especially breathtaking in the fall, and Wolfe Lake, with its quiet, uncrowded beach and swimming/kayaking spot. The town of Powassan offers a grocery store, LCBO, Home Hardware, and a charming Saturday market. We’re a mere 30-45 minutes from iconic attractions like the Screaming Heads in Burk’s Falls and the unique Crystal Caves in South River. In the summer months, take a short walk down the road to the Commanda Museum, where you can sip a milkshake and enjoy a tour of this historic site. And just 45 minutes away, North Bay offers many restaurants, an additional museum, boating & fishing on Lake Nipissing, and stunning views of the sunset from its shore. Come any time of the year for a night, a weekend, or longer, and let the forest reset your pace.

Your private tent trailer retreat sits tucked among the trees at Forest & Farm Wilderness Retreat, a 32-acre semi-wild homestead in Near-North Ontario. The trailer is fully set up with bedding provided (king, queen, and double beds) and a slide-out dining nook, making it a comfortable base for families or small groups of up to 6 guests. At your site, you’ll find: A cozy furnished trailer with propane cooktop, cookware, and seating. 2-4 Beds with fresh bedding (no need to bring sleeping bags unless you want extras). A private fire pit with seating for evenings under the stars. Outdoor space for relaxing, playing, or enjoying a meal in nature. Parking for up to 2 vehicles. Amenities & Facilities: A composting outhouse is a short walk away; clean and simple to use. Potable water is available nearby for drinking, cooking, and cleaning. Propane stove and outdoor grill options let you cook your own meals. (Firewood bundles can be provided.) We are able to provide meal service as well! Activities & Access: From your trailer site, you have access to our trail network, which winds through mixed woods, along wetlands, and down to a small waterfall where you can sit and listen to the rushing water. Guests are welcome to view the gardens and say hello to the farm animals — sheep, ducks, chickens, and rabbits — or simply wander the property at their own pace. Optional add-ons include: Campfire/conventional dinners Guided Forest walks Forest Therapy sessions Seasonal foraging wanders Skill-Based workshops like sourdough, fermentation, etc Families with children can request Forest School programming, and those looking for quiet will find plenty of tucked-away spots for reading or resting. Beyond the Retreat: We’re within easy reach of Restoule Provincial Park (amazing lookout point), Wolfe Lake (swimming hole), and the town of Powassan (groceries, LCBO, Home Hardware, Saturday market). We’re also 45 and 30 minutes from the famous Screaming Heads in Burk’s Falls and Crystal Caves in South River. Just 45 minutes away, North Bay offers many restaurants, museums, Lake Nipissing views, boating, and fishing. Come for a weekend or linger longer — this site combines the comforts of a trailer with the beauty and freedom of camping in the Forest.

The tent is conveniently located near clean washroom facilities for your comfort. Surrounded by towering trees and the gentle sounds of the forest, you’ll find a sense of calm and privacy. Explore our on-site rustic trails, carefully marked with flagging tape to guide you safely past the pastured sheep and lead you to our scenic waterfall. The trails are still a work in progress, adding an adventurous element to your walks while offering breathtaking natural sights. Beyond the immediate property, there are countless opportunities for adventure and discovery. Take a short drive to Restoule Provincial Park and hike the Fire Tower Trail, offering sweeping views of the forest below. Duchesney Falls in North Bay is also nearby and makes for a stunning, quick excursion. On Saturdays, the Powassan Farmers’ Market and the North Bay Market provide a chance to experience local flavors, fresh produce, and community energy. For those seeking more hands-on experiences, optional tours and workshops are available on-site, allowing you to learn about forest skills, foraging, and other nature-based activities.
