These are newly developed sites (2021) nested on the back of our property about 200ft from our house on a dead-end road. We have rural neighborhood vibe, with a 2 mile scenic paved walking path nearby. We have newly planted trees and shrubs, so no afternoon shade except in tent areas. With the open areas sunrises and sunsets are fantastic! Both back in sites are 40’ in length with extra vehicle parking available. Please confirm your measurements before booking. There is enough room to easily pull in and then back into your spot. Ideal for Class-A motor-homes, fifth wheels, tent trailers, travel trailers, pick-up campers and self-contained van campers. Additionally, 1 tent is allowed at each site. Because there are no bathrooms we are unable to accept TENT ONLY camping at this time. Both campsites have full hookups including artisan well water, septic, with 50 amp electric on site #2 and 30 & 50 amp electric on site #3. Garbage receptacle is located at the entrance of the property. Plenty to see and do in the Flathead Valley. Lots of wonderful local restaurants, pubs, breweries and wineries. Tons of trails to hike, rivers to raft, lakes to boat and parks to stroll. We have a list of our favorites, don’t hesitate to ask!

Autumn is prime time to come out for leaf peeping on the hiking trails, while summer offers plenty of activity on the lake. Go Koo-koocanusa for boating, swimming, and fishing or just sun yourself on the shores. Be sure to pop into the visitors center for a tour of the dam, and the friendly ranger will you point you in the right direction for some primitive camping under insanely starry skies. There’s a boatload of fun and adventure waiting for you at Libby Dam, all you’ve gotta do is show up!

When to go

The prime time to visit Libby Dam and Lake Koocanusa Park is during the summer months, when the weather is warm and the natural beauty is at its peak. However, be mindful of the potential for high visitor traffic. Off-season visits in spring or fall can offer a quieter experience, with the added bonus of witnessing the seasonal changes in the landscape.

Know before you go

  • Always check the current flow and reservoir levels for safety before planning water-related activities.
  • Be aware of any seasonal closures or special events that might affect your visit.
  • Accessibility varies across different areas of the park, so plan according to your needs.
  • While exploring, keep an eye out for local wildlife and adhere to guidelines to protect both you and the environment.
  • Facilities such as restrooms and picnic areas are available, but it's wise to bring essential supplies in case certain amenities are closed.
