This property is so great! Very private and quiet, beautiful grounds. Carolyn was absolutely amazing! So friendly and helpful! She took the best care of our dog on days that we were out adventuring. Cannot wait for our next visit :)

We loved camping here! Peaceful and quiet, yet centrally located and convenient to Glacier, Whitefish, Kalispell and surrounding areas. We stayed in Buck Moon, surrounded by trees and peeping the little pond next door. With water and electric provided, the price is reasonable for the area. We enjoyed it so much, we canceled elsewhere and stayed another night. Carolyn was pleasant and checked on us, without being intrusive. We will stay here again!

It was a great stay . Our host was friendly and helpful. Our site was great. Power and water. Site was clean and well kept . We don’t normally have campfires so not an issue to us but maybe check with host if propane fire is allowed . 10/10 we’ll be back .

This was our 2nd stay at The Back of the Moon. First time we stayed at the Wolf Moon site and this time at Buck Moon. Wolf Moon is a little bigger with a picnic table for hanging out and eating outdoors. Buck Moon is a little smaller but still plenty of space. It is a peaceful spot and sits up on the hill with a filtered view of the pond at the nearby resort. Carolyn is an outstanding host, very helpful and gracious. Highly recommend!

Our little family (2adults, 2 young kids, 2 labradors) absolutely loved Carolyn’s spot, such a great find! We towed our camper up to Wolf Moon and stayed for the Whitefish Trailblazer races in the fall. The property was beautiful and secluded. Tucked into the woods behind the Haymoon resort. The property was easy to find via google maps, and Carolyn was super responsive (even well before we booked!). The site has a 30/20 amp hookup and water available, just brought our hose to hook up & close to a free RV dump in town at the Cenex. Honestly the perfect little weekend, even with the colder weather & rain. Would 100% recommend this spot & Carolyn as a host, she was wonderful!

This was a great stay at wolf moon. Site was easy to find and pull into. Carolyn was easy going and helpful with all that we needed but was not overbearing and respected our privacy. The proximity to the road made it easy to get in and out of for a quick one night stay. The area was clean and quiet.

We stayed at Back of the Woods while visiting family in the area and had a great experience. The host was very friendly and even shared some freshly picked huckleberries with us, which was such a thoughtful surprise. The site itself is peaceful and nicely shaded by trees, making it a comfortable place to relax. We really appreciated having access to a trash can, which we hadn’t expected but found very convenient. The "neighborhood" behind the resort has lots of cute dogs and makes for a good walk. All in all, a quiet and welcoming spot we’d recommend and stay at again.

What a peaceful, quiet spot that is in SUCH a great location between Whitefish, Kalispell, and Columbia Falls (oh! And Glacier). Carolyn was a gem. Super responsive, was so thoughtful giving me recs of what I could do in the area with my dog 🐾. We got our morning & evening walks in on the packed gravel road leading to the camping spot, going past horses and the cabins of the resort nearby. Felt super safe. And, though they were eating Carolyn’s beautiful flowers, the deer in the morning sun munching nearby was such a treat. Would 1000% recommend.

We stayed at Buck Moon for a few days on our way to see family further north and it was great! The property is quiet in the trees at the end of a gravel road with landscaping at the two campsites. The water and electric hookups were nice too and I loved seeing a flock of wild turkeys walk past our camper in the morning. The properties location is really convenient for exploring Whitefish and the surrounding area as well. Thanks for hosting us Carolyn!

Would go back! Gravel pads were really level. We had a tent and 20’RV. Could use a little
more room to pull in and out though it was just enough space. Tent space was on a gravel walkway- had just rained so didn’t want to set up in wet grass. Very clean area.
Follow google maps- we definitely thought we were lost but it got us there.

Carolyn’s communication was prompt and she gave us detailed instructions about how to find the spot. She greeted us after we arrived and made sure we had everything we needed. Site was level and easy to back into with our trailer. Power and water was available. There was lovely landscape around the site.

We had a great stay at Buck Moon! Carolyn was incredibly friendly and helpful—her communication before and during our visit was clear and timely. The site itself was lovely, with fresh landscaping, a beautiful view of the pond, and a level pad with both water and power hookups, which made things extra comfortable.
The location was perfect: tucked away in the woods for a peaceful, private feel, but still just a short drive into town. The only challenge was that cellular service was spotty due to the busy weekend, and the on-site WiFi wasn’t very strong. That said, I was able to pop over to a nearby Starbucks for a work meeting without any trouble.
Overall, a relaxing and well-appointed spot—would definitely return if in the area again!

This was our first experience with Hipcamp and it was great! Carolyn was an awesome host, very welcoming and friendly, and offered great local dining recommendations. Her property was private, peaceful and beautiful. We overlooked Haymoon Resort who had horses and dogs and a pond to enjoy. Water and 20 amp electric hook up available, she provided an extension cord, so I didn't even have to get mine out of the van! Would recommend and would come back another time when in Whitefish. Thanks!

Wolf Moon is the first of two sites when arriving on the property. A private tree line gravel road brought me to the property. Google maps guided me through the minor turns. The electrical for this first site was best accessed when I backed in with my 27 foot truck camper. The site is level and I used about a 30 foot electrical cord.
Carolyn is knowledgeable, friendly and professional. She shared information about the wide variety of local amenities, including restaurants, shops, hiking, etc. While the town of Whitefish is only about eight minutes away, I was in a location which was quiet, secure and peaceful.

I loved the RV site on Carolyn‘s land. My truck camper, about 27 feet, fit easily into the site. The setting is quiet and peaceful with a “being in the woods“ feeling with all of the trees.
Carolyn is friendly and professional. She is knowledgeable about all of the local activities, restaurants and things to do. Lots of hiking is available, both scenic and challenging. Cycling, both on and off-road is readily available. The town of Whitefish is about eight minutes away, it is charming with a variety of good restaurants and shops.
