Camps of the Pioneers

11 sites · Lodging, RVs, Tents7 acres · Ellsworth, ME
Our property has a history detailed in the arrowheads and other Wabanaki artifacts found around the property. European settlers have also left clues behind of the shipbuilding industry and 1700's culture.Experience a bit of natural immersion and enjoy the endless opportunities for outdoor recreation while camping in the northern forests of Downeast Maine! We use our 6 acre property to focus on producing organically grown herbs, fruit, vegetables for local markets. We're finally making available the properties scenic brooks, forests and meadows to folks seeking to experience a truly unforgettable, countryside retreat. We’re just off the beaten path in an agricultural and fishing community on the Union River, 20 minutes drive from Acadia National Park and Mt. Desert Island. See what our other guests have had to say about their stays-“It’s an experience I would repeat with pleasure. Difficult to be short about my highlights: hearing the loon at night certainly, waking up with the quarter moon over my head, seeing the progression in changing colors of the leaves, the views from Mount Cadillac, and Beech Wood trail, Jordan Pond and the Bubbles,so many things really.” - Christine from Montpelier, France, Sept 2021."We were so at peace when we got here we just spent the rest of the day hanging at the yurt enjoying the peace and quiet today we are heading to the ocean!"- Jody from New Hampshire, July 2021."We could not have found a more idyllic place, plus it was our first experience in a yurt. We found your notes about Acadia super helpful and the yurt was just so beautiful and cozy. Having a hot bath and a little fire in the wood stove after a day of biking the Carriage Roads and swimming at Sand Beach could not have been more perfect. So glad we were at the yurt to enjoy the area and Acadia. We had an incredible stay and are hoping to come back next summer."- Jenn & Neil, August 2020.

Four Acre Woods Campground

14 sites · Lodging, RVs, Tents4 acres · Deer Isle, ME
A beautiful island campground thickly forested with spruce, fir, and birch, Four Acre Woods was created over 60 years ago on Sunshine Island, Maine. Under the name Sunshine Campground, it hosted people from all over the world and delivered the spirit and essence of this ancient, abundant land that so many ancestors had roamed and celebrated before. It was open to the public through to the 90s, but then sat alone for 15 years, waiting for someone to revive it and bring it back to the world. Then one day, Caleb and Wolf met on a bus, heading south from Down East Maine, where they instantly connected and joined forces. They worked together redressing a home in Stonington for visitors to experience and became brothers while doing so. Eventually, the presence and opportunity of the campground caught their attention and after working out the technicalities, they worked together to bring this beautiful land and campground back to the people under its new life and name, Four Acre Woods. After opening on July 1st 2020, the land is finally back to sharing all of her beauty and spirit with the people. So, Welcome Home. Sincerely, - Four Acre Woods Caretakers

Blueberry House Belfast

1 site · RV, Tent2 acres · Belfast, ME
Camping opportunity on a beautiful spot in the woods just 6 min drive to downtown Belfast and all the wonderful offerings of Midcoast Maine. On the property is a 3 bedroom house occupied by me and an often travelling housemate. Also, my lovely dog JJ who roams the woods here free. We have some lovely cleared yard space and are surrounded by mostly woods, and a few lovely, super friendly neighbors. This is a great spot if you want somewhere near to town and easy to access but to feel like you're out in the woods. Dogs on leash OK must be vaccinated and up to date on vaccines. This is for outdoor car camping or sleeping. Compost toilet available, as is access to the back porch off the kitchen for covered seating and use of wifi. Accessible in door space for campers in progress. Leave no trace policy. More images to come, but current pics show the first view as you exit Rte 3 onto Park Hill Road, and then you exit to the right onto Blueberry Ln where Blueberry House Belfast is located. Then some of the cleared yard area. The camping / car spot is about 50-60 ft from the house, so enough distance for privacy but close enough to shout if need anything. We're friendly people.

The Lazy Bluff

1 site · RV2 acres · Belfast, ME
Our 2 acre slice of heaven is located in Belfast on the Mid-coast of Maine. It features a beautiful 1000+ sq foot timber frame pavilion designed to house a large class "A" RV 14 ft. clearance, it also features a 20 x 16 attached patio area. included onsite is a 50 amp electrical, full water and sewer hookup. Free Wifi is also available. the Property is mostly woodland with Belfast is a beautiful little city located right on the Maine coast with a great downtown area. it is located about 2 hours north of Portland and 2 hours south of Bar Harbor. it is a destination in itself, or is an ideal jumping off point for many of Maine's well known places of interest. We have lived here throughout the 3 seasons since having this place built three years ago, and have never considered renting it, but this year my wife's health prevents us from using it so it seems like a good opportunity to allow others to enjoy it.

Healing Tree

6 sites · RVs, Tents7 acres · Orrington, ME
This is a residential 7 acre property in a quiet and safe neighborhood. We are right off the main road for easy access. It is very peaceful and calm here. We live in the 5 bedroom old farmhouse where you can use the bathroom if needed. We have a new and developing veggie garden. There is a small stream and community fireplace by the 4 campsites and another fireplace closer to the garden. The designated campsites are at the rear of the property and are first come, first serve. A tent can be set up anywhere on the 7 acres and does not need to be in the designated campsite area. Car camping, van life and RVs also welcome! There are some lightly wooded areas, apple trees, a pear tree, and an open field. We are pet friendly and there are cats and a dog that currently live here. I am a Reiki Master and can potentially offer healing sessions if that is something you may be interested in. I also travel a lot as a DJ and audio tech and might not be here, but have a self check in process and video I will send. Also, roommates are generally here. Maine Savings Amphitheatre is 15 min away (concerts in Bangor). Acadia National Park is just over 1 hour away. Bangor and Bucksport are both about 15 min away. Fort Knox is about 20 min away. From the campsites here, the road and house are not visible. *Please be aware, this is rustic camping in the yard. This is not a campground or upscale facility. Please be ready to be self sufficient and sustainable in any weather. Well water is available and passes all tests - pure and safe for drinking. We have hosted up to 20 people at once and as few as 1. Sometimes we get campers who are going to a concert in Bangor, which is awesome. Any hours coming and going are fine! Enjoy a peaceful and private stay. 🙏
