Hi, my name is Dave. My family and I would like to welcome you to Nile Point, a secluded campsite located on 20 acres of privately owned, oceanfront property on Nelson Island, BC. I consider it the closest thing to paradise. The first you'll need to know about this property is that it's only accessible by boat. This is what makes the campsite so secluded and peaceful. Transportation to and from the island is included with your stay. The stunning 15 minute boat ride to and from Nile Point is one of the many things that makes this a truly unique experience. The second thing you'll need to know is that we offer TWO SITES on the property, a 10x16 TENT PLATFORM and a OCEANFRONT CANVAS TENT WITH ENSUITE (NEW!) with king size bed, in-tent ensuite bathroom and fully stocked outdoor kitchen with potable water, bar fridge and BBQ We have one canoe, one one-person kayak, a two-person kayak, and some paddleboards. Bring your own water exploring devices if you wish. Our beach is rocky (it ain't a sandy beach!), so bring your good water/rock shoes! This is a great place to stay and explore if you love the wild. It's off the grid, so if you want to unplug from devices and do nothing but relax or play in the ocean and explore the forest, it's perfect. That said, there is cell reception should you need it and a solar charger if you need to charge your devices. Egmont offers a pub, a fancy restaurant, and a charming convenience store with wi-fi. We can take you in to town during your stay for an additional charge of 50$ per direction. We've secured exclusive moorage at a private dock in Egmont. This is where you will park. The location is very close to downtown Nanaimo and all the amenities and services it has to offer. The campsite is quite private, tucked in behind the house and shaded during the day. There is an electric hookup for an RV, water is available, and a gravel strip beside the RV parking spot provides space to set up portable camping equipment. A large open area is also adjacent to the campsite. Dogs are welcome, but please note the backyard is not fenced. With rabbits and other small wildlife in the area, dogs must remain on a lead or under control at all times. There is no sewer/septic hookup on site at this time, but an RV dump station is located nearby.

Gambier Island is located a short ferry ride from Vancouver . The island is mostly unspoiled WestCoast Rain Forest. It has mountain trails and lakes to explore but the terrain is rugged. Wildlife consists mainly of deer and many bird species with no dangerous predators. Orca whales & seals are often seen feeding & playing close to shore. Hiking, photography, foraging, swimming, beach combing, paddle boarding & mountain biking are popular activities. There are no services available so campers must bring all supplies needed for their stay on island.

We had a fantastic stay at Alpaca Woodland! Roger was an above and beyond host- he came out during a thunderstorm to offer extra shelter for our tent. The animals were so cool to meet and the location was wonderful for exploring the Qualicum Beach area. We’ll be back and would highly recommend!

Our trip was amazing. The space was gorgeous, quiet, and welcoming - as advertised. Dave and Eli were helpful and went above and beyond with anything we needed, especially when our arrival time was in high tide! Use of the kayaks and paddle boards were a real plus and kept us entertained. We will definitely stay again, and we highly recommend this place if you are looking for the peace and beauty of camping, but in pure luxury!

The tent platform on Dave’s land was magical! Taking a boat to an island, leaving your car behind was very special. You need to be reasonably fit to do it, though! Swimming off the dock was fun. Dave let us use his kayak and paddle board.

This was our third time at Nile Point, and once again it was absolutely perfect. Eli and Dave are wonderful hosts—always welcoming and willing to help with anything you need. This was our first time staying in the safari tent, and it was such an incredible experience. The tent itself is huge with plenty of space, and the balcony overlooking the water made for the perfect evening—BBQing, relaxing, and cozying up by the fire. Nile Point truly is one of my favourite spots, and I can’t wait to come back again. Thank you, Eli and Dave!

Words cannot begin to describe how amazing this place is. So peaceful and beautiful, what a dream to be able to stay here. Crystal clear water warm enough to swim in, amazing views, you must experience it to describe its beauty. Flushing toilet and outdoor shower with incredible views are an added bonus. Bring your sturdy water shoes like Tevas so you can enjoy swimming and exploring the rocky beach.

We absolutely loved the place. Roger was sonmond to welcome us and introduce us to the alpacas and goats. Our kids loved feeding them and the lot was also very beautiful and remote. We would loved to stay for more nights but we had to catch the ferry and could only stay for one night.

4 nights at Nile Point - Oceanfront Camping

Our family of 4 (boys aged 9 and 11) stayed 4 nights in the luxury canvas tent to kick off our summer vacation - terrific experience! The description is completely accurate; a secluded and beautiful spot which you feel you have to yourself (because you do!). Amazing view to wake up to. A protected little bay to paddleboard/swim/kayak in - water in July easily warm enough to swim. The tent itself is exactly like the pictures - clean, comfortable and spacious. Great outdoor kitchen / eating area. And to top it off, Dave and Eli are the most gracious of hosts - friendly and helpful, won't disturb your seclusion, but equally are quick to provide anything if you ask.

We really enjoyed our stay at this campground. We were there for 6 days with our kids. The goats, alpacas, wild ducks, owls, ZIP line were great entertainment for the kids. The kids were incredibly happy and so were we. Quiet, not hot as there are lots of trees, the smell of sequoia when lying in the hammock, the huge Camp site space, it was a heavenly vacation for us. Roger, the owner of the Camp, is a wonderful person, as is his family. He advised us to visit places that not many people talk about, but they were awesome. Without Roger's advice we would not have found them. Thank you for the warm welcome, I hope we will come back to this campsite again.

Wir haben die 2 Tage auf Rogers Farm sehr genossen. Roger hat uns irre viel erklärt und uns auch mit Trinkwasser versorgt. Mein Sohn und ich haben die Alpakas sehr geliebt, wir durften sie füttern und streicheln. Sie haben ein riesiges Farmgelände für sich und manchmal kamen sie auf unserem Campingplatz vorbei (wir hatten extra das Tor aufgemacht). Abends kamen Eulen zu uns, das war ebenfalls sehr spannend!
