Joli site bucolique proche d’une belle maison, d’un petit bois et sans bruit ! Dommage que les circonstances (décès du propriétaire) vont sans doute faire disparaître ce Campground… à moins que les repreneurs ne continuent !!!

It is a peaceful place, but no actual „c as mo sites“ , no Picknick tables etc.
Jaust a large meadow between house and forest. Check in was: there won’t be anyone there, camp where you want.
Deers are visiting and checking you out. The only trail and the creek you can explore in 20 minutes. Nice , but actually not worth the money.

Very private… lots of wildlife! I suggest fully self contained as restrooms are in a garage with a laundry sink. Grounds are really beautiful!

Great location. Beautiful grounds, quiet, and lots of wildlife in area.
Had the whole area to ourselves.
Close to the Rusted Rake Brewery, which I highly recommend, and coffee shops.

Overall we had a good experience, the host supplied us with a card table and 2 lawn chairs. As there are no picnic tables. There was a hot tub available. Sadly, the one washroom for the campsite, was not clean!

The property was beautiful. Unfortunately hot tub was not in working order as was indicated in the description of the property (arrived July 1, was told it had not been de winterized due to staff shortages) Would have appreciated if we were informed of this prior to our arrival.

Huge property with good privacy from all sites. The path down to the creek is a lovely walk. The tall trees make for good shade for your campsite.
The bathroom with potable water is clean and helpful.
The host Barry is friendly and helpful with advice for things to see in the area and around the island.

While this location is picturesque there are very few flat spots for a tent or trailer.
Hookups we’re advertised but on arrival we were informed that they are not guaranteed and obtaining them was quite a hassle.
A ‘perfectly working hot tub’ was advertised but on arrival it was found to be empty and full of mildew.
Cell phone service and wifi were advertised but neither were available.
Overall there was very poor communication about any of the amenities(or change/lack there of) and the property itself, which lead to a misrepresentation and overall disappointment.
I would not recommend this place to friends.

What a generous and considerate host! Barry’s property is spacious with beautiful trees which gave our site shade. Our kids loved the walk through the forest to the river. And the well-maintained hot tub was a bonus! We will return to this property in the future. Highly recommend.

Longleat Spirit Old Growth Forest
Overall, we had a great experience. Barry and his family were nice. Our camping trip turned out to be the same time as their family reunion, we were honoured to come as adjacent guests. Camp sites aren’t terribly private but are near a lovely river. You can drive right up to the campsites through the yard which was convenient because we had accessibility needs.

We had a great time camping! Barry was very kind and generous with offering his place. Nicely manicured lawn with trees around. Lots of room for our little one to run around! Nice hot tub! The highlight was the trail to a creek in the back of the property. Nice neighbourhood and overall a great place to stay.

In a peaceful neighbourhood close, but not too close, to town, parks, and the ocean, Longleat House offers a great location to post up and enjoy the pastural atmosphere.
Coming down the driveway, one is met by the horse Jewel, whose stable one parks beside. Behind host Barry’s house is a large field, edged by forest, which offers a number of places to pitch a tent, some shaded by the trees. The large field is perfect for games, with the various benches dotting the property offering great spots to take a rest. A woodchipped trail leads down to the creek, which is the perfect to cool off and admire the large cedars towering above. Needing to warm up? Then have a hot tub on the patio. Or grab some firewood from Barry.
Activities off the property abound, including a variety of parks such as Englishman River Falls, or Tiny Mountain Lookout. Nearby Parksville has anything one could need, including an expansive sandy beach.
The care and attention Barry has put into his property is evident, and I wouldn’t hesitate to stay again.
