The Gertie Bus is located a 5 min walk to a beautiful white sand beach (at low tide). There are walking trails all around and lots of beach access. Tucked into the front of our property in the quiet of Gabriola island you’ll find the converted Gertie bus with all the amenities you need. The bus has a gas stovetop/oven, bar fridge and sink with grey water system. Equipped kitchen and sofa area to hang out. The standard queen bed is great for sleeping in and relaxing with that second cup of coffee. Mountain biking, hiking, swimming and whale watching are just steps away. There is beach access across the street through a private park with picnic tables, a very old eagles nest and a private access to a rocky beach perfect for sunsets. The home itself has a pottery studio on the main floor with a full time studio Practice. Give Paige a ring if you’d like a tour, she’s usually working away. Our family lives on the top floor. Outside the bus is are lush veggie gardens, fruit trees and a nice private outdoor dining area. A BBQ and solar lights also help with evening hangouts. Family friendly! Also we love animals but we ask that you clean up after your pet and keep any animals that aren’t so great with kids and other animals on leash. We have a dachshund on the property that is friendly and old ( barks at strangers but is all bark I assure you, he just wants to be friends)

We have taken everything we love about camping and done our best to give you a sense of what life on the Coast is really about. Skip the crowds and enjoy the Lost Coast in a private setting. The property is waterfront on the Strait of Juan De Fuca, and is secluded at the end of the road. Freshwater Bay Park is one mile East and Crescent beach is less about a 15 minute drive. Lake Crescent is about 20 minutes away. The two campsites are set back in the trees behind the house but there are views of the Strait from both campsites. Full signal WiFi at 30-50 Mbps. There is also one spot for a camper van with electric and water, however there is parking for three vehicles so more than one camper van is possible. The electric is 20 amp service. There is a gas hot water shower available to all campers. There is access to the Bluff overlook with a spectacular view and a fire pit. Firewood is provided. There is a trail going down from the bluff to a private Cove. The trail has steps carved into the hillside and a rope railing so it is very accessible.

We had such a wonderful stay at the Whalebone Guest House with another couple and our dog. The tiny house was spotless, cozy, and well equipped — with a comfortable bed, handy kitchen, and thoughtful touches throughout. Even with four of us, it felt welcoming and never cramped. The property itself is beautiful and peaceful, surrounded by gardens and just a short walk to Whalebone Beach. We enjoyed quiet mornings by the ocean, easy island exploring during the day, and relaxing evenings back at the house. Our dog was happy and comfortable too, which made the trip even better. Our host was warm and accommodating, making sure we felt right at home while giving us plenty of space to relax. This was the perfect getaway spot, and we would happily return again.

Such a great quiet spot. Very private and well set up. We stayed for 10 days and were very comfortable. Everything you need except Sani dump which isn't that big a deal. Wifi is exceptional, and the rooster was a great way to wake up. lol. Nice trails to walk with the pooch. Highly recommend and would stay here again for sure. Lisa the host was very accommodating and communication was excellent. 5 stars

We had a wonderful stay at Paige’s tiny homes. Whalebone beach is great for swimming and walking and provides shady afternoon spots to nap. It is just a short walk down the quiet road. We were even lucky enough to see whales breaching and playing 3/4 days. We will absolutely be staying here again.

This is a dry camp. Distance from the campground: Olympic Discovery Trail - 1 Mile Elwha Interpretive Center - 2 miles Mouth of Elwha River - 2.5 Miles Salt Creek - 4 Miles Port Angeles - 7.5 Miles Lake Crescent - 15 Miles Also, you'll want to bring your own briquettes. We have BBQ pits for your use. Coming along hwy 112 from Port Angeles you'll cross the intersection of Dan Kelly/Place Road and the highway (don't turn here, stay on highway 112). If your navigation software tells you to turn on Dan Kelly, turn it off. We are NOT on Dan Kelly road. We are on hwy 112. We are the first left, just after the guardrails. Down the gravel road some 75 feet, turn right at the "Ranger Creek Campground" sign and follow the unimproved road about 100 feet to the campground. Campsite 4 is the first one you'll see, further down the road campground 1 is on the left, campsite 2 is on the right, campsite 3 is strait ahead. Please respect the privacy of the other campers. Decourcy Meadows is a peaceful forested site within a short walking distance to a safe local swimming beach. We are an RV-only campsite. The site is level and can accommodate vehicles up to 40ft in length. Electrical, sewage, and potable water hookups included. The property is about half natural forest and so it's not unusual to see local critters, large and small peeking out! There are several hiking trails in the area and local parks as well. There are 3 artisans on Decourcy Drive. The world-famous Crow and Gate pub is 4 km from here and the historic Wheat Sheaf Hotel (Pub) is about 5 km. Local restaurants and Cafes, Groceries, Pharmacy are 5 km. We are a quiet country getaway located 25 minutes from Nanaimo Departure Bay Ferry Terminal. Duke Point Terminal is about 20 minutes. Picturesque town of Ladysmith is about 25 minutes south and the very Unique town of Chemainus is 35 minutes and very worth seeing.

Just a 20-minute drive to the Pacific Ocean and a 20-minute drive to the straits of Juan de Fuca. Just a one-hour drive from our site to Cape Flattery, short hike down to a rocky viewpoint overlooking the Pacific Ocean and Tatoosh Island, which is the farthest NW Point in the Continental US! We have sites with beautiful river views, 9 walk-in sites, and 12 drive-up sites. 4 of the walk-in sites are river views 4, 5, 6 and 8. The drive-in sites with river views are 10, 11, 12, 13, 17, 18, 20, and 21. There are more sites on the other part of the Campground. The Fish Hatchery is right next door and has a boat launch, beach, and lots of fishing. The river at the Hatchery is great to float on, fish, and just play. Activities nearby include: Pacific Ocean beaches, Pleasant Lake, Crescent Lake, Beaver Lake, Snyder Lookout for stargazing, Olympic Discovery Trail, kayak floating, the area is great for hiking, biking, mushroom and fossil hunting, wildlife viewing, ATV trails, and much, much more, come have some fun.

Please note you must have your own trailer or tent. We’re a 5-10 minute drive to Rathtrevor beach/Parksville, Englishman River. We are right in the middle of an extensive trail network perfect for hiking, mountain biking, horseback riding.  Both sites have plenty of space for RVs and trailers - we can accommodate vehicles up to 45ft in length. 30 amp Electrical and potable water hookups are available on both sites. WI-FI onsite as well. There is a flush toilet and sink available in our farm store that is available for guest use. No shower yet, but we are working on it! The property is private yet close to all amenities. Local favorite Rocking Horse Pub is a quick walk next door and a must-stop for dinner and drinks!  Centrally located on Vancouver Island, it’s a perfect spot to set up the rig and day trip out to Rathtrevor, Little Qualicum, Parksville, Coombs, Port Alberni valley and Nanaimo, or go for an overnighter in Victoria, Tofino, Mount Washington and the Comox Valley. Campfires are permitted as long as there is no fire ban and we have dry firewood for sale onsite. If you would like firewood send us a message before you arrive. Pets are welcome, but please be responsible for them. There is a large open grass field for you to let them run and burn off that energy.
