The site is level and can accommodate vehicles up to 40ft in length. Electrical, sewage, and potable water hookups included. The property is about half natural forest and so it's not unusual to see local critters, large and small peeking out! There are several hiking trails in the area and local parks as well. There are 3 artisans on Decourcy Drive. The world-famous Crow and Gate pub is 4 km from here and the historic Wheat Sheaf Hotel (Pub) is about 5 km. Local restaurants and Cafes, Groceries, Pharmacy are 5 km. We are a quiet country getaway located 25 minutes from Nanaimo Departure Bay Ferry Terminal. Duke Point Terminal is about 20 minutes. Picturesque town of Ladysmith is about 25 minutes south and the very Unique town of Chemainus is 35 minutes and very worth seeing.

We are right in the middle of an extensive trail network perfect for hiking, mountain biking, horseback riding.  Both sites have plenty of space for RVs and trailers - we can accommodate vehicles up to 45ft in length. 30 amp Electrical and potable water hookups are available on both sites. WI-FI onsite as well. There is a flush toilet and sink available in our farm store that is available for guest use. No shower yet, but we are working on it! The property is private yet close to all amenities. Local favorite Rocking Horse Pub is a quick walk next door and a must-stop for dinner and drinks!  Centrally located on Vancouver Island, it’s a perfect spot to set up the rig and day trip out to Rathtrevor, Little Qualicum, Parksville, Coombs, Port Alberni valley and Nanaimo, or go for an overnighter in Victoria, Tofino, Mount Washington and the Comox Valley. Campfires are permitted as long as there is no fire ban and we have dry firewood for sale onsite. If you would like firewood send us a message before you arrive. We have BBQ pits for your use. Coming along hwy 112 from Port Angeles you'll cross the intersection of Dan Kelly/Place Road and the highway (don't turn here, stay on highway 112). If your navigation software tells you to turn on Dan Kelly, turn it off. We are NOT on Dan Kelly road. We are on hwy 112. We are the first left, just after the guardrails. Down the gravel road some 75 feet, turn right at the "Ranger Creek Campground" sign and follow the unimproved road about 100 feet to the campground. Campsite 4 is the first one you'll see, further down the road campground 1 is on the left, campsite 2 is on the right, campsite 3 is strait ahead. Please respect the privacy of the other campers. In the rainy season the road in can be slick. Four Wheel Drive vehicles are recommended in the case of large amounts of rain, or snow. Not recommended for RV's or trailers over 15 feet. Pack your own trash out please.

Local favorite Rocking Horse Pub is a quick walk next door and a must-stop for dinner and drinks!  Centrally located on Vancouver Island, it’s a perfect spot to set up the rig and day trip out to Rathtrevor, Little Qualicum, Parksville, Coombs, Port Alberni valley and Nanaimo, or go for an overnighter in Victoria, Tofino, Mount Washington and the Comox Valley. If your navigation software tells you to turn on Dan Kelly, turn it off. We are NOT on Dan Kelly road. We are on hwy 112. We are the first left, just after the guardrails. Down the gravel road some 75 feet, turn right at the "Ranger Creek Campground" sign and follow the unimproved road about 100 feet to the campground. Campsite 4 is the first one you'll see, further down the road campground 1 is on the left, campsite 2 is on the right, campsite 3 is strait ahead. Please respect the privacy of the other campers. In the rainy season the road in can be slick. Four Wheel Drive vehicles are recommended in the case of large amounts of rain, or snow. Not recommended for RV's or trailers over 15 feet. We have BBQ pits for your use. Coming along hwy 112 from Port Angeles you'll cross the intersection of Dan Kelly/Place Road and the highway (don't turn here, stay on highway 112). If your navigation software tells you to turn on Dan Kelly, turn it off. We are NOT on Dan Kelly road. We are on hwy 112. We are the first left, just after the guardrails. Down the gravel road some 75 feet, turn right at the "Ranger Creek Campground" sign and follow the unimproved road about 100 feet to the campground. Campsite 4 is the first one you'll see, further down the road campground 1 is on the left, campsite 2 is on the right, campsite 3 is strait ahead. Please respect the privacy of the other campers. In the rainy season the road in can be slick. Four Wheel Drive vehicles are recommended in the case of large amounts of rain, or snow. Not recommended for RV's or trailers over 15 feet. Welcome to our secluded little farm paradise. We are located on the west side of the W̱SÁNEĆ Peninsula on the main drive, West Saanich Road. Close to the beaches Coles Bay and Patricia Bay and a 12-minute drive to Sidney and the village of Brentwood Bay. We have 3 accommodations offerings here on HipCamp: (1) Tent camping in the fenced forest meadow (2) Car camping at selected sites around the farm (3) The Barn Loft private guest suite {1. The Camping Meadow} The meadow is a 1/2 acre fully-fenced, flat forest dell. There is a water spigot and an electrical outlet. It can host up to 3 tents. It is tent camping only - no vehicles allowed in the meadow. West Saanich Road can be a bit loud at night in the summer. If you have sensitive hearing, we encourage earplugs and/or camping at the farthest west end of the meadow. {2. Car Camping} The Cedar Grove is a private camp site with room for a regular vehicle (not an RV) and a tent. It is our only spot where you may camp next to your vehicle. {3. The Barn Loft Guest Suite} The Barn Loft Guest Suite is a beautiful restored hay loft with a double bed, a pull-out sofa, a kitchenette, and a living room and dining area. It is equipped with a composting toilet. Those staying at the Loft can also use the shared farm washroom. {Shared Washroom} The washroom is the shared washroom inside the farmhouse on the ground/basement floor, with a flush toilet and luxury shower. It is a short walk from the camping meadow, inside the heritage farmhouse. Please note that while inside the farmhouse basement, only the washroom is available for public use. Entering other areas of the basement is prohibited, as these are private living spaces. {Farm Fun} We have five horses, a tiny pony, chickens, a few goats and a flock of sheep. You are welcome to respectfully meet the animals with us - it is not permitted to meet the animals without a guide. DM us if you want to say hi to the animals and we will arrange a time. Please understand, there are safety protocols that need to be followed around horses. Eggs and lamb meat are also available for sale. DM us to order. Enjoy your stay on our beautiful west coast.

Our stay here checked all the boxes. Perfect location for an Olympic rainforest adventure. Host was very responsive and accommodating. The river sites are worth the extra money, the view is awesome. Sani Can was super clean. The sites are close together so not too much privacy if it’s peak season, but we were there in December and had the place to ourselves. Would recommend!

I have stayed at this HipCamp in the past and liked it so much I decided to come back. The sites themselves offer the basics: table, chairs, fire pit, tent spot. But the best parts of this campground are the outdoor kitchens, outdoor game area, and all of the wooden gnomes to find. I would come back here for another stay!

Really cool space. I stayed in camp 0. While folks with mobility issues may struggle a bit with being up hill, I didn't find it to be an issue at all and the cheaper price meant I could stay longer. That being said, all the sites looked great. The kitchen was so nice for breakfast and to cook up the mushrooms I foraged nearby. Eventually the shower curtain will need to be changed but that hot shower in a cold night was amazing. Super close to so many things. I'll definitely be coming back.

The night sky is clear and perfect for star gazing. This place truly is a piece of heaven. As of right now we have large and small tent sites. There are ponds to look at and eventually they will be stocked with fish. The campsites are not completely flat and may have a few small holes so please be careful and watch your step. A lot of this property has been left natural for years and we are trying to keep it as natural as possible. We do suggest sleeping on an air mattress or camping pad for your comfort. We are just starting out so this place will get better and better as time goes on. We at The Rustic Retreat value your privacy and we try not to interact with campers unless you request. The Peninsula Northwest has some amazing activities including hiking, biking, fishing, crabbing, shrimping, whale watching, beach combing, Kayaking, and so much more. The Rustic Retreat is about 20 minutes from downtown Port Angeles and the Victoria Ferry and about 30 minutes from Lake Crescent. It is the perfect place to stay in between everything. Updates for this season: We have added, moved, and changed the name of some of the campsites, so if you are a returning camper double check the campsite number before booking. One change is, Former campsite 1 (the pond campsite) has been changed to a communal fire pit with log rounds for sitting. This is the only firepit that will be allowed on the premises due to fire danger. The firepit can be used by all campers until the Clallam County burn ban comes into affect. During the burn ban, the firepit will be closed off. We have also added more campsites, walking trails, more lighting and parking. We have not been able to get fish in the ponds yet, however some wild ducks stop by now and again to say hi. The hiking trail head is down the dirt road, west of the porta potty, it is roughly 316 yards to the trail head. Walking and biking is allowed. Trail is very natural so it is uneven, please be careful.

The adventurous can continue down Route 112 to Neah Bay. You’re also close to the world-famous Hoh Rain Forest and Second Beach—the best parts of Olympic National Park. We are situated on a 1.5 acre plot, set amidst rural surroundings. It is a very quiet and peaceful community set on the shores of the lake and surrounded by magnificent trees and greenery. There is limited bus service about a 20 minute walk away so a car is recommended. We are about a 25 minute drive away from Sidney, where most people will arrive by plane or ferry from the mainland, and also about 25 minutes away from downtown Victoria. The driveway from the street up to the front of our house is a paved sloped driveway and from there the access to the camping site is a sloped and curving dirt road. You don’t need a four-wheel-drive to get up it. We just want to be sure you are aware. The area itself is a level piece of ground to the side of our house. It is approximately 30 ' X 30 ', big enough for a small camper van and a tent. Please note it’s not a camping space like you would find in a provincial park. There’s no picnic bench or fire pit. In any case open flames are not allowed. Portable propane powered camping stoves are fine. We can supply a couple of plastic chairs and a small cocktail sized table. The facilities are comprised of a toilet in a small room in our basement and a utility sink just outside, accessed through the sunroom and down the back stairs. Pets are welcome, but must be on a leash or otherwise kept under control and not allowed to run loose. We have three cats ourselves, and they have access to the sunroom. We are just letting you know in case you are allergic. Also, we might occasionally sit in the sunroom ourselves and we don't mind you passing through on your way to and from the facilities, if you don't mind us being in there on occasion. There is no bath or shower available. You are advised to bring your own face and/or hand towels if needed. You also need to be prepared to take away your own recycling, garbage and organics.

Our parents thought that wasn’t descriptive enough for Hipcamp so they’ve helped us describe it more. We live in a quiet neighbourhood in a forest that has been a source of peace, relaxation, and fun for us in our growing up years. We’ve noticed that people who visit here say they feel the same way. With plenty of space for kids to explore and adults to relax, our 3 acre forest is perfect for down time with a book in the hammock or a nature walk before dinner. Amenities and service: A single, tidy campsite with picnic table surrounded by mature and gently manicured forest, as well as a hammock, and a new construction outhouse. (Go dad!) We love hospitality, so though we won’t always be around when you’re here, if we are and you need something you can simply ask and we’ll do our best to provide what you need. To help you feel welcome we provide a fresh, cool jug of drinking water and large container of fresh potable water as well as access to an outside tap to fill water containers if needed (upon request) , power to charge devices (upon request), and a campfire ring with firewood (sorry about the frequent fire bans. Huge bummer. We will post current fire ban status while you’re here.) Skip the crowds and enjoy the Lost Coast in a private setting. The property is waterfront on the Strait of Juan De Fuca, and is secluded at the end of the road. Freshwater Bay Park is one mile East and Crescent beach is less about a 15 minute drive. Lake Crescent is about 20 minutes away. The two campsites are set back in the trees behind the house but there are views of the Strait from both campsites. Full signal WiFi at 30-50 Mbps. There is also one spot for a camper van with electric and water, however there is parking for three vehicles so more than one camper van is possible. The electric is 20 amp service. There is a gas hot water shower available to all campers. There is access to the Bluff overlook with a spectacular view and a fire pit. Firewood is provided. There is a trail going down from the bluff to a private Cove. The trail has steps carved into the hillside and a rope railing so it is very accessible.

The night sky is clear and perfect for star gazing. This place truly is a piece of heaven. As of right now we have large and small tent sites. There are ponds to look at and eventually they will be stocked with fish. The campsites are not completely flat and may have a few small holes so please be careful and watch your step. A lot of this property has been left natural for years and we are trying to keep it as natural as possible. We do suggest sleeping on an air mattress or camping pad for your comfort. We are just starting out so this place will get better and better as time goes on. We at The Rustic Retreat value your privacy and we try not to interact with campers unless you request. The Peninsula Northwest has some amazing activities including hiking, biking, fishing, crabbing, shrimping, whale watching, beach combing, Kayaking, and so much more. The Rustic Retreat is about 20 minutes from downtown Port Angeles and the Victoria Ferry and about 30 minutes from Lake Crescent. It is the perfect place to stay in between everything. Updates for this season: We have added, moved, and changed the name of some of the campsites, so if you are a returning camper double check the campsite number before booking. One change is, Former campsite 1 (the pond campsite) has been changed to a communal fire pit with log rounds for sitting. This is the only firepit that will be allowed on the premises due to fire danger. The firepit can be used by all campers until the Clallam County burn ban comes into affect. During the burn ban, the firepit will be closed off. We have also added more campsites, walking trails, more lighting and parking. We have not been able to get fish in the ponds yet, however some wild ducks stop by now and again to say hi. The hiking trail head is down the dirt road, west of the porta potty, it is roughly 316 yards to the trail head. Walking and biking is allowed. Trail is very natural so it is uneven, please be careful.
