Great location! Hosts are friendly, sites are clean and well dispersed with plenty of privacy. Our kids loved running around the open field.
Hosts also mailed elderberry syrup to our residence (when we couldn’t establish initial linkup).
We will definitely camp back here again.

We had a really nice stay! The tent/camping space was quite large and gave us plenty of room to set up comfortably. The property is peaceful and feels very natural and private.
Just a few things to keep in mind before staying here: there is no reception/service in the camping area, so it’s a good idea to plan ahead. We also didn’t end up using the potable water because we weren’t exactly sure where to get it from, so we brought our own water instead.
There isn’t a regular toilet right at the campsite. There is a bucket available, and depending on where your campsite is located, you’ll need to walk a little to reach the composting toilet.
The property is also somewhat remote, so you’ll need to drive around 20–30 minutes to get into the city, where you can find cafés, grocery stores, and reception/service.
One of the highlights for us was meeting the owner on our last day. He was super nice and welcoming, and he even gave us some fresh fruits and vegetables grown on his farm, which was such a thoughtful touch!
Overall, we enjoyed our stay and would recommend it if you’re looking for a quiet, spacious camping experience and don’t mind being a little away from the city.

First time ever using Hipcamp and the experience was great. This place is nice and quiet and away from everything. Plenty of firewood. Great host and would come back. Thanks for the quick getaway for the weekend.

Had a great time on the property. Would recommend to anyone who prefers the primitive camping lifestyle. The elderberry syrup was great and they stocked plenty of firewood at the site. Great views of the night sky and an easy drive to Shenandoah for activities.

The campsites were nicely cleared and pretty flat. Nice firepit with wood available for purchase. We were able to find most of our wood so no need to use that. There is a small creek behind the camp that was nice. There is a single porta potty that was walkable and clean. Overall good stay!

The direction to get to the camp spots were very clear, we were easily able to find them even in the dark. The site was beautiful and was filled with sounds of nature all around. We had a great time, definitely recommend!

Rocky Run farm was a great camping spot! Access was easy, there was signage and very clear directions. There were many open campsites to choose from, all were very well set up, mowed, and little solar lights around the driveway and each site were helpful because we arrived after dark.
Land was calm and beautiful. Thank you for having us!

My friends and I had a lovely time camping at Rocky Run over Labor Day weekend. The field was spacious and private, with significant distance to the other plots. A running creek and camp fire provided the perfect backdrop to look at the stars. Day trips to Shenandoah National Park for waterfall hikes and Skyline Drive made for a perfect weekend.
We loved it here! It was very clean and well kept and very private and peaceful. The sound of the little brook, running near the site, added more tranquility to the whole experience. It was a beautiful place to spend an evening of rest and relaxation. Our host came to greet us and brought us our garlic and elderberry syrup we ordered and also gave a us some veggies from his garden. Thank you for sharing your farm with us.

Very nice spot, right by a creek, making for nice sleeping sounds. Hosts were friendly and helpful. Easy to get there, easy to get out to Sperryville, Luray, Shenandoah, etc. My only recommendation is to bring a table and maybe chairs… makes cooking, eating, and sitting by the fire easier.

I am quite perplexed about the positive reviews. It’s a fine campsite for a night, but I wouldn’t go back there. It’s not a very well maintained campground.

Great location and close driving distance to some popular trailheads in Shenandoah. Sites are spread out and offer plenty of space. Amenities are as described (few) so come prepared for some real camping.

Great location near SNP, quite spaced out sites with plenty of room. Sites are next to a small stream which gives a nice white noise while sleeping.
Staying here was amazing. We showed up and were greeted with a warm welcome… and a watermelon! The grounds were fantastic- plenty of space between each site. We barely heard anyone else. We set up our site pretty quickly and then got to walk around and explore the farm. Lovely spot, super clean and well maintained. We only got to stay one night and then we left early in the morning (we stayed here to hike Old Rag), but I would 100% come back. And I truly recommend the property to anyone who is passing through or looking for a place for a couple of days. Thank you for sharing your property!!
We loved tent camping here! The
campsites were very spread out so it felt like we had a lot of space (great for our pup to run around) and privacy (especially nice when using portable toilet). The sound of the nearby creek was lovely and it was fun to see the cows walking around. The location is nice too -- not too far from Shenandoah. Pro tip: Bring a camp table and chairs because there are no picnic tables (but there is a fire pit). Also, drive up Gobbler Hill for WiFi to map you to your next destination + fill up your containers with potable water. We would definitely stay here again!
My friend and I stayed at rocky run for two nights while we hiked in Shenandoah NP. The location was great for day trips in and out. I loved listening to the owls on property at night. The hosts were also very hospitable!

My wife and I really enjoyed our experience with Rocky Run's Sustainable Farm. The host was quite hospitable and the campsite was in a great location. We highly recommend staying there.
Another fantastic stay at Rocky Run! Big thanks to Doug and his family for being so welcoming. And I appreciated the fresh peppers from the garden as soon as I arrived! Such a wonderful space among beautiful countryside. Rocky Run will be my go-to whenever I'm in the area.

The farm was beautiful and the sites felt incredibly private. Extremely friendly and welcoming host, and the surrounding areas are stunning. Perfect location for a trip to Charlottesville or Shenandoah National Park. The farm has it’s own trails to explore and we got to check in early so as not to set up in the dark. Would definitely stay there again if I’m in that area, loved every second of our stay!

Easy to find and nice wide spots for each site. Access to the creek and big pile of firewood made settling in easy. Was surprised at how few mosquitoes there were for as hot and muggy as it was, a huge bonus! Must be all the happy insects on the sustainable farm gobbling them up. 😊

We had a great stay for our first Hipcamp experience. Our host greeted us upon arrival and was gracious and kind. The spot was heavenly: right by a babbling creek and a horse stable. Will definitely be coming back!
