**When submitting a booking request please describe in as MUCH DETAIL as possible your camping situation so we can place you at a suitable site. Please describe your camping set up, vehicle, type of group (couple, family, young friends etc) dog breeds, arrival time (after midday). Stonesthrow is a 106 acre rural property in the peaceful Illinbah Valley. Nestled between Beechmont and Canungra, we are about an hour (a stones throw) from the Gold Coast or Brisbane. Over time, the property has been used to farm goats, train racing camels and spell racehorses and is now a family hobby farm. We currently have three dogs, cows, horses and goats. We have goat food for purchase on site. šŸ The Lower Sites are close to the beautiful shallow creek that meanders its way through the property. These sites have access to facilities - toilets, shed, kettle, fridge and a sink. Most of these sites are suitable for 2WDs and some sites are accessible to caravans. The Elevated Sites are located higher up, with stunning views of the valley. These sites are only accessible by 4WD and require you to BYO sealed, chemical camping TOILET and ensuite tent. Off-road camper trailers can access these sites however NO caravans. šŸ¾ Friendly dogs are welcome and must be kept on a lead when in close proximity to the cottage due to free range chickens. Please note, the availability of certain sites is weather-dependent. šŸ‘£ Exploration of the property is by FOOT or bicycle only. šŸš² Any visitors MUST have a confirmed Hipcamp booking before arriving. šŸ”„ Firewood available šŸ”„ 20kg = $20 We are a Leave No Trace campground šŸ™…ā€ā™€ļø - ensure what you bring in, leaves with you.

The Stonesthrow Lower sites are close to the beautiful shallow creek that meanders its way through the property. All sites are unpowered. Access to power, camp kitchen (including fridge and water) and toilets are available at the Green Shed. Most (but not all) sites offer 2WD access yet still facilitate the experience of camping in the bush. Caravans can access some of these lower sites.

The Stonesthrow Elevated sites are located higher up, with stunning views of the valley. These sites are only accessible by 4WD and require you to bring your own chemical camping toilet and ensuite tent which we sight on arrival before allowing access. Off-road camper trailers can access these sites. These sites are not suitable for caravans over 15ft.

Overall was nice. Got guided to a spot where not mamy people were. Toilet was close & is a drop toilet with sawdust. Site was big enough & firepit. Only downside was the constant smell of weed potentially from the owners (unsure) but good to know of your pregnant or have children.

Great spot. We are from the Gold Coast only 35min from our house . Took our two dogs they loved it also . We stayed on a middle level sight was great . We are definitely going to go back and stay on a high sight.

Stayed for 1 night with my daughter. We had the perfect camping experience so close to the GC. Richard and Miranda went far beyond what you would expect for hosts! They are so welcoming and proud of their property. Stonesthrow is amazing for kids with plenty of swings, a cubby house and lots of safe open spaces. Rich and Miranda on this experience were very generous with their time showing all the kids the animals throughout the property. We even got a catered lunch from a big camp group staying nearby. No sites are too close together and each have open fire pits. I would definitely recommend the lower sites for families and kids and the elevated sites for a more secluded experience. Thanks again guys, Anna and I will definitely be back soon.

Had a wonderful trip away. Great spot for the kids, feeding the animals and plenty to keep them busy. Richard and Miranda are great hosts and very helpful. We had a nice quiet spot with plenty of room. Definitely will be booking again.

Busy weekend with lots of campers, however we have a wonderful relaxing overnight. Although it was busy everyone was respectful and welcoming. It was just nice to get away from the crowds of the Gold Coast. Will definitely stay again!

We had a great stay, Miranda and Rich were Great hosts and the campsite was perfect for a family with 2 young children. Large peaceful campsite, our children enjoyed the space to run around and kick a ball and the interaction with the farm animals. Highly recommend, particularly for young families, looking forward to our next stay at Stonesthrow!

Lovely quiet spot. Had the lower camping site all to ourselves. Lots of shade and shallow creek running was loveky to kisten to at night. Dogs had a ball being allowed to be off leash while at the site and our little one loved the goats and cows. Looking forward to coming back again.

My wife, my dog and myself stayed for two nights this week and absolutely loved it! Richard and Miranda were extremely welcoming (along with their three dogs) and went above and beyond to make sure our stay was as best it could be. Combined with lovely hosts we had amazing views, cattle crossing by our site and horses that came to say hello it was just extremely peaceful. We will definitely be staying again next time we road trip up from nsw! I couldnā€™t recommend this place enough. 10/10 would highly recommend !

We had an incredible stay at Stonesthrow Bush Camping. We stayed in the lower creek-side sites, which provided a perfectly level, spacious setup right next to the peaceful water. Richard and Miranda were exceptionally welcoming and made sure we had everything we needed from the moment we arrived. Purchasing a bag of firewood on site and relaxing by the open fire under the stars next to the running creek was absolutely perfect. We enjoyed exploring the hobby farm to see the cows, horses, and goats. It is a pristine, well-maintained haven, and we cannot wait to visit again.

A wonderful holiday! The setting was peaceful, private, and very beautiful. The sky was full of stars and the hills were in view. The hosts and their two children were very friendly, and we felt very comfortable. Note that they have delicious sun-dried beef jerky! šŸ˜œ We will definitely come back! šŸ‘

We had a really great time at Richard n Miranda's farm. They were very helpful throughout our stay. The farm is peaceful and it was really nice to walk up the creek with the kids and see the views from the hill. Thank you for having us, we will definitely be back.
