We apologise for being currently unavailable to take bookings. We are currently building off grid luxury eco cabins on the property. There will be 2 x studio cabins and 2 x 2 bedroom cabins. We hope to have these available by the end of the year, to which we can take camping bookings again. Thanks for your patience while we complete these exciting additions to our property. Amazing views, nestled in nature and only 1 minute off the highway. Located close to the Forster-Tuncurry exit. We are located 3 hours north of Sydney and 5 hours south of the QLD Border making it a convenient stop over for your travels, or a nice place to stop and explore the local areas being close to beaches and the Barrington Tops. The property has spectacular views that you won't find anywhere else. We are in a quiet rural area where the neighbours can't be seen. There are walking tracks for you to explore the natural environment. There are many kangaroos, wallabies and numerous amount of birds in the area. The property backs onto national park. There is a river that is only a few kms behind the property that you can put a small boat in to take you out to Saltwater Beach. Old bar beach is a 12 minute drive, Forster-Tuncurry is 15 minutes and the beaches of Pacific Palms a 45 minute drive. There are file piles near the bush sites that you can help yourself too. If in need of groceries or supplies Taree supermarkets and Stores are only 10 minutes away.

We absolutely loved our stay at Herring Estate. The views and scenery were amazing. We felt safe and there is enough space that it was also private and peaceful. It is also far enough off the highway that u can hardly hear the trucks at night. There r sites on top of the hill with views of the ocean and mountains and sites near the pond for those that don’t want to tackle taking the van up the hill. We have recently had our son and daughter in law move to Old Bar so we will definitely be regulars at Herring Estate !! It is an amazing Hipcamp. Thank you Kristy for our stay !! All the good reviews of this place are correct. It's like you are on the top of the world and can see for miles. So peaceful. A lovely place to rest for a couple of days. Highly recommended and when we come back this way, it's a definite stopover. Thanks

Glorious views in all directions atop the hill at Herring Estate. Manicured property with shade if you need it. Sunrise over the slither of ocean visible to the east was worth the early morning rise. Old Bar Beach and the Saltwater National Park 15 minutes away. Don’t leave without a jar of local honey! To be repeated.

Beautiful property and positioned very close yet far enough away from the highway for anyone needing an over night stop or for those wanting to explore the Forster area but to stay away from the town. We have already recommended this spot to friends and family.

This place blew our mind. Did not expect it to be so beautiful! Perfect for us for a one night stay as we were on the way back to melbourne. The sunrise and sunset was unbelievable. Directions on the app were great. Very thorough.

The views from here are unreal. The property is so beautiful. We got to choose any spot in the designated area. It was a very private and nice. Felt so safe. I was sad that it was overcast because the night sky view would have been magical. Next time!

Stayed 4 nights in area 3 at the back of the property for more privacy and shade, even f it meant missing out on the great view from the hill. Best thing about this property is its location, being close to all the awesome beaches Barrington coast has to offer. Heaps of firewood was a bonus. Highly recommended.

We love the Herring Estate. It was our first time experiencing the off grid stay with RV / MotorHome. Such a lovely view on site 1, we went into the lower site on late arvo coz the wind was quite strong. The kids love nature and they gathered some firewoods that were already in the area and we lit a fire using the contained fire pit we found in the area. They had a wonderful time for the first night of our camping. Thanks for sharing your beautiful estate.

Lovely spot, great view and beautifully kept. Unfortunately the flat spots were taken by caravans so not enough level ground for our camping trailer. Will definitely stay again when we upgrade!
