Weekend Trip to Canoelands Orchard Camping

We had the best stay. Loved picking and eating nectarines fresh off the trees, feeding the animals in the morning, the tractor ride, the play area for the kids and being able to enjoy our iced coffees. The only downside is how far the toilets are from the camp site, but even that was okay. Camp Site 8 was surrounded by other campsites, but the sites are all spacioius, so it didnt feel crowded. The hosts were absolutely lovely!

Jaime and Nathan are honestly some of the nicest people you’ll meet. From the moment we arrived, they made us feel right at home. The campsite itself is awesome—huge spaces for tents and plenty of room for the kids to roam. The café has seriously good coffee (a lifesaver for parents!), and everyone we met was so helpful and friendly. The kids loved the tractor ride and meeting the farm animals—it’s the kind of simple joy that makes camping special. There’s even a sandpit where the kids played for two hours (which gave me a chance to doze off :) ). They said they wanted to stay there forever!

The rates are reasonable and the sites are wide. Firepits, shower and toilets available. There is a cafe open during our stay plus fruits that we can freely pick and eat (just be reasonable in the amount you take) there are friendly farm animals that you can join in feeding them in the morning. Great for families and friends looking for something fun, close to Sydney activities. Only downside is if it is hot, there isn’t any shade so prepare your own shelter, and only 1 shower is available.

Our stay with Robert was honestly amazing! The space itself was big, spotless, and really well set up. The shower?l and toilet really good. And the firepit area was such a vibe. The pool was chef’s kiss — perfect for cooling off and floating around. And the absolute stars of the place? His three adorable dogs who decided we were part of their squad and played with us the whole time. We were obsessed. Robert himself was incredibly kind, sweet, and super attentive — the kind of host who makes everything feel easy and welcoming. 100% recommended

We had an awesome time camping here! Robert was very welcoming, knowledgeable and super friendly. We took our motorhome out for its first rodeo and found the site peaceful with great amenities and easy access. The pool and friendly dogs were a bonus which our kids loved. Highly recommend!

We stayed for an extended weekend. Such a beautiful property. Mike was really friendly and approachable. We had ours dogs, so set up camp in zone 1, which gave us great access to the creek. Kangaroos visit the property and there's plenty of wombat holes, we didn't see any though. Definitely worth a visit 😊

A lovely camping spot, there’s a good amount space between the different spots so we had privacy and could use our little music speaker without worrying about annoying anyone :) There was a lovely smooth area for our tent so it was super comfy sleeping! The Little River walk was lovely, as was the pond with the kayaks (my partner had a swim there and really enjoyed it). The toilet was very clean, and having clean water was really great too. Also no mozzies at all even though we were near the pond in November!!! I definitely recommend :)

Glenroy Cottage and Camping is a beautiful and peaceful spot to relax and unwind. The whole area is very well maintained, clean, and perfect for a quiet getaway. I used my own toilet during the stay, but the overall campground facilities and environment were still excellent. The rope swing by the water is a fun highlight and adds to the charm of the place. The owner is also very friendly and welcoming, which makes the experience even better. Overall, a lovely spot with great vibes. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a nice camping location around Hartley!

Weekend Trip to C Colo - just beautiful

We had a great time with just two of us at C Colo but can see it would also work really well for groups too. There is variety between the campsites and we found a perfect little one to suit just us. Steve and Danielle were great hosts and we enjoyed a good chat. It rained on arrival but the land dried quickly and it wasn't an issue at all. We will absolutely come back to explore more on a longer stay soon!

Such a great little getaway! Hard to believe it’s only an hour from Sydney. The campground is super spacious and really quiet, and being in the middle of a fruit orchard made it feel extra peaceful. Loved waking up and walking over to the café for a morning coffee. The farm animals were cute, and fruit picking was a fun bonus. The only downside was the bathrooms—they need a bit of TLC and they’re a fair walk from the campsites, which isn’t ideal at night. But overall, we had a great stay and would definitely come back!

Canoelands Orchard Camping and Fruit Picking, is located just 1 hour from Sydney's CBD. The property is 81 acres in total with a small shop and cafe onsite. We offer pick your own fruit so are open to the public daily (closed on occasion). Trading hours can be viewed at www.bookingscanoeladns.com. We are surrounded by the stunning valley views of Marra Marra National Park. Guests can enjoy hiking, wandering the orchard picking fresh produce, taking a tractor ride, feeding the animals and relaxing. Please note we are a working farm so sometimes tractors and vehicles can be heard working from 7am. There will be foot traffic and possibly tractor rides operating near some of the sites although we will do our best to respect your privacy while you are here. We also have a quarry surrounding most of the property, so they sometimes operate machinery early. This is not generally too disruptive though. We are just 15 minutes' drive from the beautiful historical Wiseman's Ferry and the Hawkesbury River. There are multiple hiking tracks located close by. We have several sites to offer around the property. We have a beautiful huge dam just 350m down the gully. It’s super peaceful although a steep walk down the driveway to access, it's definitely worth it, so pack your walking shoes and some swimmers.

Our river access is normally shallow, well-suited to young families or those who just want to lay back and enjoy a refreshing dip. Amazing sunrises, sunsets, and stargazing are provided free of charge along with bird watching, local wildlife, and horses in surrounding paddocks. We offer limited sites to comply with NSW Camping legislation and Hipcamp guidelines and to enable campers to experience the Colo as it should be, listening to the beautiful wildlife and really appreciating the outdoors. Sites are large with varying distance between each to enable you to enjoy the camping experience in your own space. Both paddock sites and limited river spots are available. If planning to stay with friends and you wish to share a site only 1 booking is required, the sites are large, some up to 30m x 30m. IMPORTANT: Pets are allowed on a case-by-case basis, with conditions, and a $20 fee applies. Please check with Hosts before booking. Once approved, please add the Pets Extra when booking. (Saturday night 2-night minimum) There is no mobile reception or internet access, therefore, providing a true off-grid retreat. Self-sufficient campers are preferred. There are fire drums available on each site, most with grill plates - subject to RFS bush fire danger ratings on the day. There are three communal flushing toilets and two awesome hot water showers! ALL waste is to leave with you! There are local bush walks through National Parks and great places for mountain bike riding although be mindful of holiday traffic in peak times on our local dirt roads. The local shop, Colo Riverside is open 4 days a week Thurs-Sun, just 10kms up the road providing last-minute supplies, ice, bottle shop, and cafe services. Located just one hour from Sydney, our property features 19 acres of pure serenity with two dams and one large enough to kayak on (kayaks supplied). The back of the property is perfect for camping and suitable for a small to medium caravan/camper. The larger dam has a picnic area and kayaks available to paddle on. Adjoining our property is Nattai National Park with a lovely 20 minute walk down to Little River. The Aqua Pool Trail in the National Park is just gorgeous. If you wish to try and catch some yabbies from the dams the only allowable and fun way is by a long stick and sausage. Hooks, fishing lines and traps are not allowed as we have people, dogs and horses swimming in the dams. We welcome self-contained campers who bring their shower/toilet set up. We do have two drop pit toilets available and each campsite has a pit fire provided. We are getting low on firewood so you will need to bring some along with you. There is access to drinking water. Our property is 2WD accessible and can accommodate small caravans and camper trailers. Not far from Buxton is Thirlmere where the Steam Train Museum is and train rides are available on the weekends, a great activity for the kids. Thirlmere Lakes National Park is perfect for a relaxing picnic, walk, birdwatching, and glimpse into locomotive history. Mittagong and Bowral have great wineries with restaurant/bistro. Pets are welcome. There's a range of different bushwalking trails in the region, including Starlights trail, a scenic bushwalk suited to experienced hikers, which forms part the Greater Blue Mountains trail network between Mittagong and Katoomba.

With only two allocated camping/van zones enjoy the privacy and access to walk around the 40 acres. Located 1.15 hrs from Sydney CBD this is an ideal place for a quick weekend getaway for keen hikers, mountain bikers and nature enthusiasts. Surrounded by the Marramarra National Park you have a short drive to access the Canoelands Ridge Trail (17kms), Duckponds Ridge Trail, Marrarra Ridge to Smugglers Point Ridge Trail. We are a short drive to dine at Wiseman Ferry, and only 11 minutes from the local Woolworths. Or enjoy a beautiful walk at Fagan Park in Galston. Your camping/van area is supplied with red/bins. 2 Portaloos available or camping toilets. Dogs allowed but please let me know first. They will need to be on leash all the time and well behaved. Please pick up after them ANYWHERE they go toilet and also they must be vaccinated. No cats allowed. A campfire during permitted times is allowed but only in the fire pits. There is loads of dried kindling and small logs around the property otherwise please bring your own. All Sites have fire pits. CHILDREN are to be accompanied by an adult at all times if walking around the property. Beautiful spot to relax, with loads of wildlife and bird watching. An amazing amount of wildlife - Birds, wombats, kangaroos of all kinds (wallaby, wallaroo, eastern greys etc), goannas, echidnas, turtles, ducks just to name a few. There are also plenty of roads to ride and explore via mountain bike or foot. The road in is a little rough, and there is only a small amount of levelled land. But it is still an amazing spot, where nature does all the hard work, and I would love to share it with people. This is the perfect place for those who want to be in total peace and quiet, surrounded by nature and wildlife. Each campsite is private, where by you're the only camper able to book the site. Some are more private than others - Read each description for details. *Please note* access to the property is via Megalong Road - a narrow windy road, the only road in and out of Megalong Valley. Google maps can sometimes show options through Kanimbla Valley - This is not possible. Ensure you come in via Megalong Road.
