The Rockcliffe vineyard was originally an apple orchard. In 1990, the first vines were planted, and in 2007 we built a "State of the Art winery", which is located on the property. Rockcliffe is now the biggest winery in the region. We sell wines all over the world and in Australia. We focus on producing small batches of high-quality wines, all of which can be tasted at the Rockcliffe Cellar Door. We welcome self-contained travelers to come and stay for 1, 2 or 3 nights maximum. On booking your site, you will be amongst the vines on one of our levelled bays which are allocated on a first come basis. It is important you have your own toilet, as we do not offer facilities here outside of our cellar door hours. Overflow camping is also available in the paddock across from the winery, suitable over summer when it is dry and we are running our summer music events over the weekend. We have a mountain biking track that goes around the vines, paddocks, and through the forests, all of which are part of the beautiful Rockcliffe property. The camping areas are a very short walk to the cellar door where you can taste all of our delicious wines or treat your children to Gelato and Fudge. We also offer Cheese Platters, Pizza's and Fries. The kitchen is open from 12-4pm for lunch Sunday through till Thursday and from 1-7pm for lunch and dinner Friday and Saturdays.

Welcome to Rocky's Retreat! Our little hobby farm is 28 acres with views to the Porongurup Mountain Range. Tucked away in quiet Takalarup, we are surrounded by nature, in particular - amazing bird life! Kangaroos are often seen jumping through the paddocks on dusk. The sunsets from the campsite over the Porongurup Ranges are a great way to finish each day at Rocky's Retreat. Meet our friendly resident sheep - pellets available to feed them, and they love pats! We only accept one booking at a time to allow our guests privacy and plenty of space. Well-behaved, socialised, on-lead pets are welcome too. We are located approx. 40km from Mt Barker, 50km from Albany, 15km to Porongurup National Park and 45km to Stirling Range National Park. Within a short drive you can find incredible local wineries, cafes and restaurants. The property makes a great base camp for day trips to Denmark, Albany, Mt Barker, Stirling Ranges and the Porongurup Ranges. If you are wanting to cool off at the campsite, a swimming spot on the upper Kalgan River is 800 metres down the road. Please note - we have recently undertaken significant native revegetation around the camp site, planting approx. 6,000 native seedlings for native flora and fauna habitat. Therefore, the site looks different to some of the previous photos showing open paddocks. Please refer to the photo in our listing taken in Summer that shows the native revegatation with tree guards around each seedling. Campers must be self-contained, with their own in-built camp toilet, and leave no trace. Dump points are available in Mt Barker and Albany. Telstra works in most areas. Come alone or bring your group to camp on our 95 acres of peace and quiet, on our off-grid property in Forest Hill. Note: There is no actual beach at Eddies Beach. Campers must be self-contained, with their own camp toilet, and leave no trace. Groups of up to 6 families (people who know each other) can be accommodated at any one time. As you are the only ones camping, you're welcome to make a bit of noise (music, generators etc). Lovely peaceful location with stunning views. Lots of entertainment for the kids in the form of backyard tennis, kayaks and a pedal cat for the dam. My 11 year old was living his best life! Also loved driving in and seeing baby goats and a lamb and having geese and horses wonder through camp.

last night we slept at the vineyard! It was perfect! I would recommend to order a bottle (or 2 if you’re smart 🥸) of wine at the host, this tastes extra good in the middle of the particular vineyard! The sunset is nice behind the fields. A bunch of guinea fowls which enter the trees during sunset is also pretty entertaining. BIG RECOMMENDATION!!!

Neville made us so welcome after such a long journey. Our very friendly cocker spaniel “Sammy” was very welcome. The site was amazing with toilet and shower available. My hubby had the best shower so far on how trip. Thank you Neville for making our stay safe and private. We also enjoyed meeting other fellow travellers. Again, this hip camp is so very highly recommended. PS: Walk with the giants and Peaceful Bay so close by.

Rainbow Coast

Rocky coves and rugged headlands give way to white-sand beaches and idyllic inlets along the Rainbow Coast. Nearby Albany is the gateway to the natural wonders of Torndirrup National Park, while West Cape Howe National Park has spectacular coastal hikes, paragliding, and beachside camping. Further west, enjoy swimming, snorkelling, and camping at William Bay National Park, where the star attractions include the Green Pool, Elephant Rocks, and Parry Beach.

Walpole Wilderness

Ancient karri forests, soaring granite peaks, and sprawling wetlands make up the vast Walpole Wilderness area, which stretches north and west of Denmark. Set out to explore the walking trails of Mt Lindesay National Park, go fishing and kayaking at Walpole-Nornalup National Park, or camp right by the beach at D’Entrecasteaux National Park. Hiking highlights include the Valley of the Giants Treetop Walk and the long-distance Bibbulmun Track.

Stirling Ranges

Denmark sits at the foot of Western Australia’s mountainous southern region, affording plenty of options for mountain hikes and backcountry camping. Marvel at the giant boulders of Porongurup National Park on a scenic drive or bushwalk, or head further afield to hike and camp at Stirling Range National Park. The park’s seasonal campground has unpowered sites suitable for campervans and camper trailers, but there are also glamping cabins and caravan sites nearby.

When to go

The most popular time to visit Denmark is during the summer months, when the warm and dry weather is ideal for leisurely beach days and outdoor activities.
