Weekend Trip to Silver Creek Escape

The site was beautifully maintained, and the waterless toilet was impressively clean — even cleaner than most department store bathrooms, and completely odourless! Our pups had a blast running freely around the site. Although dogs aren’t allowed in the national park next door, we still enjoyed being surrounded by nature and exploring the area with them. If you stay here, don’t miss out on ordering the bread and eggs — the homemade bread was absolutely delicious, and the eggs were incredibly fresh! It does get cold at night, but with the electricity hookups, we were nice and cozy with our electric blanket in the tent. We’ll definitely be back!

Weekend Trip to Millers Farm "The Hills are alive"

Can't recommend enough. Kate is an extremely welcoming and responsive host. Awesome spot, a lot of love has gone into the property and it shows. Place has plenty of character. Tank water, firepit and porta loo made it a very comfortable stay. Hanging out with the animals was a highlight. All have funny personalities especially my new best mate Ezekiel. Would go back in a heartbeat

1 night at Strath Creek Station

We absolutely loved camping at this stunning campsite that we came back again after 2 weeks. First time was a full moon which was a really beautiful sight, and the next time it was a new moon and I think it had been decades since I'd seen that many stars. Both stays were highlights of our Australian trip. Hosts are super friendly, and everything is clean, and the creek access is also very special. Will definitely stay here again next year.

Amazing place to stay, we stayed over a public holiday weekend and it was nice and quiet, Loads of room, super friendly owners Great for our dog! Surfed every day and easy access to whatever break is going!

I love camping the fern glade, is a fantastic place to stay, enjoy the sound of the river and birds, also, you can spot Deers, Wombats and, echidna 🦔. Michael is an amazing person! Hoping to go back soon.

Weekend Trip to Whispering Gums

A lovely campsite amongst lush farmlands. It was nice to wake up to the sounds of the country (such as cows, roosters and kookaburras). A beautiful campsite on the dam. A few flat areas for tent camping, but vehicles and camper vans will likely require levelling. A great campsite overall, we hope to come back one day! Thank you to Sue and Chris for being such great and welcoming hosts!

Amazing place for our first time staying at a farm. Damien the host greeted us when we arrived and welcomed us and also provided us with a fire pit. The farm is in walking distance to the beach and local shop. This is in a great location and highly recommended. We will definitely be coming back and staying again

Awesome campsite, beautiful views, one toilet per camp so no sharing toilets with other campers, great value for money, the only thing I would’ve liked was a bigger fire pit, but that’s personal preference no fault of the owner. An awesome two nights away with family and the dog.

5 nights at Strath Creek Station

Strath Creek station is a wonderful location if you want to relax and enjoy the surrounding area. Being close to Flowerdale, Yea and Kinglake there’s loads to do around the district. Bush walking, cycling, sight seeing, eating, drinking. The camp site we had at Strath Creek Station was adjacent King Parrot Creek, next to some amazing old gum trees. We had our own fire pit, and portable toilet which made for a comfortable stay. Kim bakes an awesome sourdough bread so we recommend you order a loaf during your stay. Hot tips- Visit the bakery in Flowerdale. They do some awesome baked goods and a great coffee. Visit the Flowerdale Estate for lunch or dinner, the food there is great. Visit the Flowerdale pub for a steak or parmi. Great atmosphere. Take a mountain bike or gravel bike, there’s some awesome gravel cycling to be had. Would we go back to Strath Creek Station, 100%.

5 nights at Angel Peace

Nice, quiet riverside camp surrounded by tree ferns & forest. There are 4 sites by the Latrobe River, suitable for a campervan, pop top, campertrailer or small - medium caravans. We took our 17.5 foot caravan & stayed on the larger site - the site in most of the photos. This site could easily accommodate vans larger than ours. The track down to the campsites was fine for our friends in their 2WD towing a trailer, but can get a bit slippery apparently. The moderate slope was no issue for our 4WD towing a 2500kg caravan. Easy walking distance to The Toolshed, the Little Red Duck Cafe & Noojee Hotel. Firewood can be collected from the forest around Noojee from 1 March to 30 June (Autumn season) & 1 September to 30 November (Spring season) from miles & miles of roadside Firewood Collection areas. Unfortunately, something must be going on with Kim's septic system, as we were asked not to place toilet paper into the flushing toilet.

Iron Brook Donkey Farm

Rolling hills of mountain pasture, backing on to the Yarra State Forest. Bushwalk along the little creek among tall trees and majestic tree ferns, or just sit in a deck chair and take in the exquisite views at the top of the hill. Multiple tracks head through the Yarra State Forest where you can wind your way along dirt roads through to Noojee, Powelltown, or Reefton, each of which have a cosy pub at the end of the drive. There are different campsite locations on the property, depending on if you would like isolation or convenience. We also offer excellent toilet and bathroom facilities which are now included with all bookings. Iron Brook Donkey Farm is located on rolling hills of mountain pasture, backing on to the Yarra State Forest. Donkeys can take riders up to 70kg We do allow pets, but this MUST be discussed with us prior to booking as we have strict rules around this. We also allow campfires only when fire restrictions aren't in place - which is often all summer. Children under 3 are free, but for insurance purposes, please mention them in the comments. Day visitors are $20 per person, which incudes a donkey patting session. This property has an overall capacity to ensure that our number of visitors remain low. This not only ensures that campers recieve the space and peace they look for in a campsite like this, but also so that we can ensure the bathrooms can be kept clean and not overloaded. This is also a part of our COVID safe plan. Due to this overall capacity it is important that you book for the number of people that you intend to have stay, as while we try to accomodate increases to booking numbers, they are not guaranteed unless booked. If we have met overall capacity then we may not be able to approve increases to booking numbers. This is for the comfort and safety of all our visitors. Thank you If you intend to purchase firewood or power or donkey rides or anything from the Donkey Shop during your stay, please bring cash to pay, and payments must be made up front, unfortunately, too often guests have been leaving without having paid for their rides or firewood.

The Fern Glade

Nestled right beside the Murrundini River, all 3 campsites are beside the river, and well spaced apart for privacy and peace. Campsite 2 (site two) is shady, surrounded by tall swamp gums, black wood wattles and tree ferns. This spot is at its best from late spring through to autumn . Site One is a large flat area beside the river that is good all year round. It has fencing and gates, perfect to let dogs run free without going too far. Site 3 (Craig's flat), is a large open campsite, able to take more camper-vans/ tents with plenty of space. All sites have fire places and gas BBQ's (byo gas bottle) And there are plenty of fish for those that want to try their luck. The original home stead (built in 1876) burnt down in the 2009 black Saturday fires. There still remains many 150+ year old elms and other European trees near the toilet block, which are delightful in autumn. We have some fantastic views from the hill up and down the Murundindi Valley, especially at sunset. We're located only a few short km's from Wilhelmina Falls and Murundindi Scenic Reserve, you get the best part of the river, without the crowds. We are a short drive from Melbourne, and easy access to the townships of Yea and Yarra Glen for supplies if you need them. Amazing, abundant and rare bird life to enjoy and photograph. (see guests photos). With no light pollution this is the ideal spot for star gazing.

Surrounded by lush native bush and towering tree ferns, this picturesque town on the Latrobe River sits on the main access route to the ski fields of Mt Baw Baw and is home to a wide range of heritage and natural attractions. The property consists of 5 acres with a river, so you can set up a tent right next to the river and fish for dinner. The house is about 100 meters away from the camping area, but there are about 1000 Oregon trees that are 50 years old, so you can't see each other well, so you can enjoy nature freely. 4WD is recommended for easy access. We recommend tents/swags. 4WD with Heavy trailer is still very hard to enter when it is wet. Guests will have access to a toilet throughout their stay. There is a communal fire pit available, so guests can enjoy a campfire on the cool evenings. Please abide by any local fire restrictions during your stay. You can walk from my house to Noojee Heritage Centre, Trestle Bridge, Alpine Trout Farm, and Noojee Hotel for a delicious pizza, Cool beer from tool sheed and coffee from red duck cafe. You can drive to Toorongo Falls, Ada Tree in 10 minutes and Baw Baw Ski Resort in 40 minutes.

Castella River Farm is an 8 acre property with many natural features including Mountain Ash trees and bushland near the camp sites. The Yea river runs behind the property and camping areas. Locally we are close to all the Yarra Valley and Kinglake Ranges have to offer from wineries to the National Parks for hiking. We are 10 minutes from Kinglake township and 15 mins to Yarra Glen, which means a quick trip if you need supplies. The highway is close by which makes it handy to get out and about. Wildlife we have seen on the property includes Wallabies, Echidna, and an abundance of bird life. Laugh with the Kookaburras at sunset. Dogs are welcome however due to wildlife and the bush location, we ask that you please keep them on a lead at all times. If you are planning on bringing a dog with you, please let us know in advance. We also have horses (separate from the campsite) that campers can feed a carrot if they wish! Water is available from our stables water tank. It is Tank water so not crystal clear but think of it as euculyptus tea! NB: **We do have neighbours and the highway near by so there will be some noise . Would suit campers who want to kick the footy, wade in the river and maybe go 4wding or out and about fishing. Ok to play your own music near the camp fire as you are far enough away down the back paddock! **Not suited to those wanting to be in the middle of nowhere
