Stockyard Paddock is located at our property called "Tarrawonga", situated on the outskirts of Port Albert. Two minutes drive to the town centre and 10 minutes to nearby Yarram. Tarra Bulga National Park and the magnificent Wilson's Promontory are easy day trips for some of the best hiking in the state. We are a 16-acre hobby farm. We run about 30 sheep who are looked after by "James" the pet Alpaca. We also have a newly established seasonal wetland project in the making. Just sit back and enjoy the local Kangaroos and abundant birdlife. Campers have access to a level and grassed, four-acre cleared open dry paddock with a treed outlook. Access is good for caravans and other RVs. You need to be self-contained, with your own camp toilet. There is water and a dump point just two minutes drive up the road. No generators please. Port Albert is steeped in history and a visit to the maritime museum is absolutely worth the time. The Alberton Hotel provides a courtesy bus if you're after a counter meal and drinks. Tarra Bulga National park is close by and provides some magnificent walks. Wilson's Promontory is a great day trip. And of course, there is always the famous Port Albert Fish and Chip shop. A haven for many species of birds and wildlife, sea and wedge tail eagles nesting close by a bird watchers and canoeists paradise, also many species of fish so if you want to wet a line a Victorian fishing licence is needed, the river has a 5 knot speed limit from the campsite to Gypsy Point, if your more into bushwalking or sightseeing there are several national parks within a 30 minute drive or boat trip, or just have a swim, chill, relax and enjoy the peace and serenity. one site has small tinny access to the river and the other is good for a 20 ft boat, can accommodate up to 15 at one site and 12 at the other, camping and fires are only allowed in designated areas, bring your own firewood or it can be supplied for $25 per wheelbarrow when booking in, at both sites you cannot have fires or camp in fenced off river frontage, you will have to provide your own camp toilet, shower, etc and take all waste away when you leave, I can arrange if needed by prior notice, bulk firewood, launching of boat, etc. No firewood collection, motorbike riding, shooting or 4x4ing on site, some pets on leash may be allowed by prior arrangement, if having trouble booking or any other inquiries please send message cheers John.

Our campsites are grassy green flat paddocks with separate access, great views across open green pastures of grazing cattle and sheep with views of the majestic hills of Dumbalk South. There's plenty to see and do in the area from the amazing Wilson's Prom Nat. Park (40 mins), to country town shopping (2 mins), waterfalls and more. We are only a 10min walk or 3min bike ride from the Great Southern Rail Trail which is a multi-use, gentle trail suitable for all abilities and fitness levels, covering 14 towns and 130klm it runs from Nyora to Yarrum with panoramic views of lush farmland, rainforest and pristine seascapes. The Great Southern Rail Trail links several unique towns. Just across the road you'll find Stony Creek Go Karts which is at 800 metres long, the longest Hire Kart track in Victoria and one of the few tracks that have racing karts and hire out karts as well as provide facilities to bring your own. (Book if poss). They also have other games facilities and an on-site café with great coffee and pizzas! Ten minutes drive towards Dumbalk South takes you to Blue Tree Honey Farm, a great little tourist attraction where you can taste and buy honey from local areas, sample a beautiful cream tea/coffee, have lunch in the cafe or sit outside and admire the scenic countryside. Just down the road towards Foster on your right you will find a fabulous panoramic lookout platform with views of Wilson's Promontory National Park (40 min) comprised of 125,000 acres of rainforests, extremely beautiful beaches, rugged granite mountains and abundant wildlife. Trails from the Tidal River settlement lead to Squeaky Beach, with its white quartz squeaky sand. Nearby, Mt. Oberon offers views of Bass Strait and offshore islands and Wilsons Promontory Light station, built in 1859, is on the southern coast. Nearby towns for shopping are Meeniyan, Leongatha and Foster. Leongatha has an indoor pool and Foster has a surprisingly good museum which as you walk through there are outbuildings like a jail and a schoolhouse, complete with school children! There are so many attractions nearby as well as local festivals and markets just about every weekend that you will keep coming back to fit them all in.

WARNING! if traveling either of these roads at sunset, after dark, or early morning, you WILL encounter wildlife (especially kangaroos) on the road, it is best to avoid these times if possible, if not please travel slowly with great care. e have 1/4 of an acre of slightly undulating coastal land with level sections for tents, and self contained caravans or campervans. Please read the full property description and adhere to the rules as stated. MUST be self contained, no toilets available on property There are two very large farm gates allowing drive through access for single axle caravans and camper trailers, large vans can back in the West side gate allowing awnings to be opened on the East (beach) side. Room for two vans in various configurations depending on sizes. Both gates should be opened inwards by lifting slightly. The fences are rural 4 strand barbed wire on star pickets, (cow fencing), please consider this if you have dogs. (To be replaced with plain wire in the future). NOTE! ticks are found all along the East coast of Australia and can be very harmful for dogs in particular, you can find all the information you need regarding ticks and dogs here: https://www.australiawidefirstaid.com.au/resources/australian-tick-identification-chart Personally we never had a tick on our dog (or ourselves in over thirty five years of camping at Paradise Beach, but we would recommend restraining dogs from from wandering through heavy bush etc. Please keep the gates closed at all times, the East gate has a pedestrian "Knob and Chain" access latch. Property is close enough to the beach to hear the surf. Plenty of shade trees. Limited potable tank water available for cooking, drinking, washing up etc. The key to tap on tall tank is attached to gate keys. The onsite caravan and amenities are not for public use. Unfortunately with all the bookings it is difficult to keep up with chopped and split firewood, (usually available in the tank halves), please do not burn any treated pine you may come across.. There is a large pile of unsplit firewood under the trees in the middle of the block for your use, please do not burn more wood than you really require. Campfires must ONLY be lit in the fire place provided, nowhere else on the property, (see pics). NOTE. Fires for cooking or warmth are allowed in Victoria even in Fire ban areas, but NOT on days of Total Fire Ban. CFA Fire check: Can I light a campfire? NOT unless: The wind is less than 10 km/h. This means that leaves are moving around in the wind. A properly built fireplace of stone, metal or concrete. (provided). Never leave the fire alone. The campfire must be put out completely using water before you leave. Fishing: Good surf fishing for salmon, gummy sharks, whiting and flathead. Pippies can be gathered in shallow water. Tip: Using corks on leader rigs stops sand crabs stealing bait. It is a short walk to the beach, or you can drive if you really need to, (see map pic). A pleasant longer walk can be had by walking to the "Pines", in the National park, you can then either return the same way, or you can locate a track leading to the beach and return via the beach, (keep a sharp lookout for the track leading off the beach at the end), (see map pic with RED track). You can also walk the Veronica Maybury Memorial Reserve, shipwreck of the Trinculo. The Gippsland Lakes Coastal Park is at the end of 7th. avenue, large numbers of kangaroos can be seen there in the morning and evening, as well as at the end of Thirteenth Street on the edge of lake Reeve. Plenty of birdlife can be seen on the property including Blue robins, King parrots, Crimson Rosellas, and Yellow tailed Gang Gang parrots. 5 minutes drive from Golden Beach shops with fuel food, liquor & bait etc. There is a dump point at Golden Beach. There are coin in the slot hot showers at Golden beach. There is a bowling club at Golden Beach and a nine hole golf course, visitors welcome. The VMMR Licensed Bar & Bistro at Golden Beach is operated by volunteers in the Community Clubrooms Saturday nights. We have a lovely block of land tucked away a couple of streets back from the beach. 200 m from the local shop and 350 m from the main entrance to the beach. There is a lot of shade and a cleared area as well. We have done some more clearing now and it is easy to get any sized vehicle into the property. My daughter had her Toyota. Coaster there on flat ground without any hassles this weekend. One caravan would fit and probably two. You can hear the waves and birds chirping, it is a beautiful part of Australia. Lots of mozzies so come prepared! The town does not have a water supply so you have to bring your own water. You can fill up containers near the hall for a reasonable price. Hot water showers at the shop are $4 for 4 minutes. there are free bbq’s at the beach. the shop has everything, good food, coffee, supermarket, bottle shop and good prices fuel. usually only a handful of people at the beach except on major holidays but even then we are talking maybe 40 people in kilometres of beach. Beach fishing is extremely popular. Unless there is a fire ban I am happy for you to have a little fire and we have a big pile of wood.

Number one, the pub with great counter meals is across the river, 5kms away. Lindenow Farmers Hotel is iconic in its design and history, the reputed Lindenow Long Paddock Cafe is also a few hundred metres from the pub, and the Post Office and Store have all your essentials. Need a few more things? Bairnsdale is 24kms away from the farm and offers all you need. Lakes Entrance is about 40 mins for a day out on the beach. Paynesville around 30 mins. If you want to venture up into the mountains then why not go through Dargo just 45 mins and up onto Mt Hotham (Summer only) via the Dargo High Plains. It’s a great track and on occasions I take people up for a guided tour and secret camp spots on my yearly run up there for my own relax time. East Gippsland in general is a wonderful region to stop and relax during all seasons but especially summer with the water activities available, the camping in the high country, and the markets that abound the area. We have a lovely block of land tucked away a couple of streets back from the beach. 200 m from the local shop and 350 m from the main entrance to the beach. There is a lot of shade and a cleared area as well. We have done some more clearing now and it is easy to get any sized vehicle into the property. My daughter had her Toyota. Coaster there on flat ground without any hassles this weekend. One caravan would fit and probably two. You can hear the waves and birds chirping, it is a beautiful part of Australia. Lots of mozzies so come prepared! The town does not have a water supply so you have to bring your own water. You can fill up containers near the hall for a reasonable price. Hot water showers at the shop are $4 for 4 minutes. there are free bbq’s at the beach. the shop has everything, good food, coffee, supermarket, bottle shop and good prices fuel. usually only a handful of people at the beach except on major holidays but even then we are talking maybe 40 people in kilometres of beach. Beach fishing is extremely popular. Unless there is a fire ban I am happy for you to have a little fire and we have a big pile of wood.

2 nights at Stockyard Paddock Camping

This camp is easily accessible towing with a van and had plenty of room for manoeuvring as i had the paddock to myself. (Midweek, off season) Sandy was a great host. They are developing a wetland which was really interesting to see. A little local traffic noise, but nothing too intrusive. Lovely nature sounds during the night, and a great view of stars. I'll be returning.

We loved our stay at Leanne’s. The views over the wetlands were unreal, our spot was tucked away so it felt really private and Leanne was really welcoming and brought us everything we would need to get the fire pit going. It was great seeing her beautiful cows grazing and kangaroos on the horizon. There is a block with a toilet and shower in which is a bit of a walk away from the camping spot. It didn’t matter to us that it was a bit of a walk but something to bear in mind if anyone has accessibility concerns. It was one of the highlights of our trip and we would definitely recommend!

We recently returned to Nowa Nowa, and not even the rain could dampen our spirits! There was plenty to keep everyone entertained — from jumping off the jetty and stand-up paddle boarding to bird watching and tackling the BMX track. The kids (and the kids at heart) had an absolute blast. It’s a fantastic spot for families, and we love that our fur babies were welcome too. A great place to relax, explore, and make lasting memories!

Our 3rd stay at Bruthen Creek and we'll be back! We love the separate camping sites on the property, plenty of space between them and feel like we're bush camping alone. Beautiful location & landscape, with farm animals (lucky to see baby calves again!), kangaroos, emus and birds. Short drive to Woodside Beach, Woodside pub, Yarram and other attractions.

Great location and well laid out with power and water connections. The property was very easy to access towing my 25ft van. Close to Bairnsdale and the lakes around East Gippsland. Peter was a great communicator and everything was as described. Highly recommend.
