Guests MUST be fully self-contained and bring their own camping toilet. (No holes in the ground) you will need to have a suitable camp toilet where you are able to take your waste with you on departure.
There is a Dump Point available in Rawson.

A fire pit is provided free for the duration of your stay to each camp group.

A haven for many species of birds and wildlife, sea and wedge tail eagles nesting close by a bird watchers and canoeists paradise, also many species of fish so if you want to wet a line a Victorian fishing licence is needed, the river has a 5 knot speed limit from the campsite to Gypsy Point, if your more into bushwalking or sightseeing there are several national parks within a 30 minute drive or boat trip, or just have a swim, chill, relax and enjoy the peace and serenity. one site has small tinny access to the river and the other is good for a 20 ft boat, camping and fires are only allowed in designated camping areas due to rehabilitation of river frontage large trees and flash flooding, at all sites you cannot camp or have fires in fenced off river frontage, bring your own firewood or it can be supplied for $25 per wheelbarrow when booking in, you will have to provide your own, shower, water, etc, all sites have access to a site toilet, take all waste away when you leave, I can arrange if needed by prior notice, bulk firewood, launching of boat, etc. No firewood collection, motorbike riding, shooting or 4x4ing on site, some pets on leash may be allowed by prior arrangement, there's a 10 % discount factored in at checkout if booking for 5 or more nights, if having trouble booking or any other inquiries please send message cheers John.

The beach track is across from the front gate, there is no beach sign from the road because the public will then use the track which is only for Hipcampers and you wont enjoy the deserted beach. Call me if you cant find the track, but most people have not had a problem. This walking access is steep, easier tracks can be driven to down the road.
Or take a dip in the river further down the road, and explore the waterways,
with many birds; black swans in the lakes next to camp, plus kangaroos, wombats, emu and deer.
There is a boat ramp just down the road to explore the river system.
Perfect for water sports, and with fish cleaning tables at the wharf.
Go by boat to the Marlo Hotel from the
wharf straight over the river.
Orbost is 15 minutes drive and has a supermarket, hotel, bottle shop and other conveniences.
We are open to accepting larger group bookings, but please discuss this with us first.

We had such a lovely stay at Woodside gardens. About a 10 minute walk to the servo (firewood & ice available) & pub across the road for dinner (the food was great).
The toilet was quite clean but I can imagine on a booked out weekend it would be hard to manage the tidyness. There is also a cold water outdoor shower available if needed.
The sites themselves were all well managed with only a few small holes from the horses (don't roll your ankles lol!)
During our stay we went to the Tarra-Bulga National Park and visited a few different cafe's & pubs in the area. Closest decent shopping strip was Yarram (15 minute drive) that had a woolies for groceries.
Thank you for having us - we will definitely be returning :)

What an unexpected delight. We stayed at the big tree site for 2 nights with our 2 kids (8 & 5). So much for the kids to do and explore. If you've got smaller kids and worry about water access, there's plenty of fencing.
Heaps of room for a camper trailer, we also had a pop up 4x4 tent. You can just see the river from where we were camping, but the sound was excellent. Plenty of fishing spots, and the alpacas were so cute.
We explored the bush, fished, dug for worms, flew a kite, played a few ball games. Would recommend heading to the local waterfall and the local pub too.
Trent was lovely and even played guitar in the evening, which was a nice touch.
No reception, but it was great to switch off and be device free for a bit.

We loved camp 4. It felt secluded. At night, falling asleep to the flowing river is brilliant. The host Trent was great to talk to. Would definitely stay at this camp again.

Really great set up! All camp sites well spaced out along the river, with fire places and plenty of room to spread out or travel with a group. Some sites are flatter than others. Trent was a great host, very friendly and relaxed, and even brought his guitar up and we had a ball singing along around the camp fire!
We were self contained but toilet facilities are good if needed.
The dogs had fun and we didn't need to keep them on lead which was great.
Very little phone service which might bother some people but we enjoyed the serenity!
The last few km's in a hilly and windy but still manageable with the caravan. Close to the Thorpdale pub if you want to grab a meal.
Would definitely stay here again.

Lisa & Bernie's property has amazing well kept sites. Sites are large enough for bigger groups and separate to other camp sites. Beautiful river running through the property and along each campsite. Cute farm animals and nice hazelnut orchard.

Beautful view, site 3 was close to the toilets (but not too close) and easy to set our 3 tents up on. Daniel provided a perfect amount of firewood for us. Had a great two nights stay. Definitely would come back!

What an amazing spot. So quiet and well mowed lawns. Roads/tracks are very bumpy and need to be graded and holes filled in in spots, but apart from that we had a great stay. Boys fished and swam. Water wasn’t deep enough to SUP or kayak though which was a shame.

We tent camped at the Old Blackwood Mill and had an amazing night. The sites were very quiet and private. Wayne was an excellent host, always there and quick to help with anything. The river is beautiful, and even had the added bonus of kayaks provided to go for a paddle. Wayne told us about a beautiful little swimming hole not far from the sight which was also very beautiful. Highly recommend for a stay!
