While The Love Shack is a private cabin, perfect for intimate getaways for couples we also offer larger group bookings for extended family / and or friend groups with the need for a normal bedroom/bathroom option. There are three under cover areas for group camping use :- an outdoor kitchen
area with sink, bench space and a full size fridge/freezer, an enclosed pen with an extra BBQ, There is a large covered area with a 100" pull down projector screen (bring your own projector for movie nights and fun).
The Shack is a two night minimum stay and sleeps two. Extra guests are welcome in a tents/vans outside at an extra cost per person. The Shack has one bedroom with linen available as an extra, a small open plan kitchen with fridge, kettle and mini cooker. The living room features a little combustion woodfire heater.
Camping enthusiasts can enjoy a level, grassy site with spectacular views across the Tarra River to the forest, or behind you across the paddocks.
We are only 3 kms away from the Tarra Bulga National Park and 10 kms from the historic town of Yarram if you need any supplies. Woodside Beach,
Welshpool and Port Albert are within easy reach too.

The property is the bush refuge corner of a larger grazing property. Whilst sheep and cattle graze on one side of the fence, the wildlife grazing on "our" side includes echidnas, wombats, wallabies, possums, koalas, and is home to more than 30 species of birds identified so far.
Tarwin Lower EcoStudio is not far out of town and the Tarwin River (4 kms), for boating, paddling and fishing. Slightly further afield is Andersen Inlet (great fishing, paddling, paddle boarding, boating, and shallow waters for very young children), Venus Bay Surf beaches, and Walkerville South bay beach (with boat ramp). Waratah Bay and Wilsons Promontory less than an hour's drive away. And that's just the water sports.
The Great Southern Rail Trail is just up the road, at Koonwarra or Leongatha, and has a range of rides with varying degrees of challenge.
The Eco Studio itself is completely off grid, built from reclaimed and recycled materials, as part of our commitment to living lightly. Camping sites are situated at the back of the property just a quick 5-minute walk from the car park. We'll transport your gear to your campsite so you can get set up quickly and start exploring the property or just kick back and relax. With a large covered deck connected to the front of the tiny house, you don't have to go anywhere to witness Wedge-tailed Eagles, Black Cockatoos, King Parrots, Rosellas and Kookaburra to name a few. Or wombats scurrying into their warren in the embankment just below the tiny house. Or the wallabies that hang out in the front paddock. If you're a fit walker, you can hike up to the back of the property that borders an old pine plantation now full of regrowth where herds of deer call it home. At the right time of day, you're likely to see all kinds of water fowl in the damns around the property. And if you're lucky, our 3 alpaca will let you photograph them as they stare you down, but no cuddles for these guys -- they're there to keep the foxes away. Night time is magical. With no light pollution, it's a stargazers paradise and on a still evening you'll hear boobooks, possums and frogs. The popular tourist village of Yarragon is 16km down a winding unsealed road one way, while the larger town of Mirboo North is about the same distance going the other way. Mount Worth State Park is 13km from our property and Lyrebird Forest Walk Regional Park is 26km just outside Mirboo North. While there's a lot to do around these parts, my guess is you won't want to leave the property.

Get back to nature with some native flora and fauna spotting. Abundant wildlife includes rare Sea Eagles, Wedge Tail Eagles, friendly Parrots, and Rosellas. Wombats, Kangaroos, Wallabies, Rabbits, and Echidnas are easily found and large bush possums are everywhere and are easily hand-fed and friendly. Groups of Hog Deer are seen occasionally as they are fairly timid.
We are located between Bairnsdale and Sale. The Park is set on 174 acres of peaceful bushland, including Banksia, Red Gum, White Gum, and ancient River Gum forest. The Park offers both powered and unpowered sites, a communal lounge, separate accommodation, modern toilet facilities, sheltered BBQs as well as a camp kitchen. The park also offers a swimming pool and tennis court.

Licola is a small and attractive village beside the Macalister River, 254 kilometers east of Melbourne. Licola is a great place to use as a base camp for you to 4wd, Hike, Mountain bike, motorbike and canoeing in high country. We offer accommodation in the form of Houses that consist of 3 to 4 bedrooms all with kitchenette, toilets and showers. Each house can sleep from 18 to 20 people in bunk style accommodation. Such a beautiful get away with the most insane rainforest view! We enjoyed our time so much and the dogs loved it even more. Definitely need to book the viewing platform as the panoramic views with the sunset were otherworldly. We will be back for sure!

Beautiful view and lots of space between the shacks/tiny houses. Be a great spot to have some mates and pitch a couple extra tents. Love Shack itself was pretty poky, some small things like the blinds weren't working great.

What a beautiful location
Really enjoyed the isolation and little cocoon of privacy, the Eco cabin provided. Just what I needed to relax and unwind to finish some uni work uninterrupted by calls and emails . Would love to come back for a longer stay. As it was like arriving home to a big hug from grandma , as I was welcomed with a warm fire , fresh flowers, clean sheets and the option of a hot water bottle.
Definitely will be back but shhh 🤫 it’s to sweet to share.
Guests do need to be aware of its eco features and low impact mindset as outlined by Jo’s descriptions but they don’t impact on your stay if you know.

Weekend Trip to Tiny Castle at Tynecastle Park
This place is fabulous, clean, and very well maintained. The environment is pleasant and relaxing, and I especially enjoyed the fireworks and BBQ night. The house is fully equipped with all the necessary kitchen appliances and amenities, making the stay very comfortable.
The owner, Susan, is extremely friendly, welcoming, and helpful. She went above and beyond to ensure we had a wonderful experience.
This is one of the best places I have ever stayed. I truly enjoyed my time here and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a comfortable and enjoyable stay.

We had a wonderful stay at this tiny home. It was thoughtfully designed, very clean, and equipped with all the essential appliances.
The property and its surroundings were lovely. Despite being a tiny home, it felt surprisingly spacious and comfortable for our group of three and our dog!
We also appreciated the great collection of DVDs and board games.
Susan was incredibly friendly, helpful, and accommodating throughout our visit, making us feel very welcome.
We would happily stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a comfy getaway!

Jo's place is absolutely beautiful--we woke up to the most incredible flurry of birds in the tree outside the window by the bed. We loved the wood-burning stove, and had breakfast both mornings out on the patio. We had everything we needed and couldn't have been happier with our stay.

Our family thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Love Shack. It's an ideal spot for camping, with all the amenities needed for a comfortable visit. We especially loved having both an outdoor fire pit and an indoor one. While strong winds and rain limited our outdoor activities, the convenient location, just a short drive to Yarram and close to Tarra-Bulga National Park, allowed us to enjoy a scenic rainforest walk and a picnic lunch. The area is stunning and provides plenty of opportunities for our kids to explore. The property does require some maintenance; for example, the bathroom door was jammed and wouldn't close properly, and the front door handle was loose. Nevertheless, our host Kate was warm, welcoming, and very responsive. All in all, we had a wonderful weekend at the Love Shack.

The Guesthouse was nested in a quiet rainforest setting with beautiful views from the balcony. The accomodation was perfect for a family of 4. It contained everything we needed and the kids enjoying exploring the surrounds. Thank-you for taking the time to give our family the personalised tour of the property. Group trip
This is camping with a lot of extras. Water from the tap (even warm), electricity, shower, induction cooking plate, large BBQ, 2 fridges, etc. There were enough plates, cutlery, cups etc. for the 5 of us. Also other kitchen equipment is there, i.e. pots, pans, knifes, electric kettle and so on. We mostly cooked on the fire, though...
The fenced area is large enough for several tents, caravans, with sufficient distance from the campfire and space for our dog to run and play.
It is very private, but with great views over the valley. Lots of birds around, for example a flock of 10 yellow-tailed black cockatoos has visited the pine tree next to the campsite a few times in the few days we stayed there.
We had a great time and would have loved to stay longer. We also enjoyed the Tarra Bulga National Park close by and Yarram provides all the gocery shopping needs for the stay. Also Port Albert is just aroubd 20 minutes drive, a small historic harbour town with a beautiful walk along the mangroves.
We definitely would stay here again, if we are in the region.
