The Property is situated on the pristine Wallagaraugh river near the Victorian and New South Wales border, 8km down an all weather dirt road has some bumpy sections, accessible for caravaners and boaters and is approximately 45 km from Eden and 40 km from Mallacoota by car, very isolated but has limited phone and internet reception, 15 minutes down river Gypsy Point, another 20 minutes your at Mallacoota on the coast if you need fuel, supplies, etc, 5 to 10 minutes up river the bullring , proceeding with caution you will go through a temperate rainforest and end up at the rock wall with small waterfalls and fresh water pools. A haven for many species of birds and wildlife, sea and wedge tail eagles nesting close by a bird watchers and canoeists paradise, also many species of fish so if you want to wet a line a Victorian fishing licence is needed, the river has a 5 knot speed limit from the campsite to Gypsy Point, if your more into bushwalking or sightseeing there are several national parks within a 30 minute drive or boat trip, or just have a swim, chill, relax and enjoy the peace and serenity. one site has small tinny access to the river and the other is good for a 20 ft boat, can accommodate up to 15 at one site and 12 at the other, camping and fires are only allowed in designated camping areas due to rehabilitation of river frontage large trees and flash flooding, at both sites you cannot camp or have fires in fenced off river frontage, bring your own firewood or it can be supplied for $25 per wheelbarrow when booking in, you will have to provide your own camp toilet, shower, etc and take all waste away when you leave, children under 4 are free but can you please book them in and i will refund you straight away, its for insurance purposes, just leave a message stating how many guests are under 4 thanks. I can arrange if needed by prior notice, bulk firewood, launching of boat, etc. No firewood collection, motorbike riding, shooting or 4x4ing on site, some pets on leash may be allowed by prior arrangement, if having trouble booking or any other inquiries please send message cheers John.

Beautiful river location
River site
Tent camping with easy access ( 20 m) to the beautiful river spot. Sat and read and tried my hand at fishing without luck although heard them jumping all around John and family very welcoming and helpful.

Perfect place to escape and relax as very secluded. Lovely beach to cool down in and the fishing was epic. John and his wife were amazing hosts. Very welcoming and went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed. Would definitely recommend staying.

Perfect spot to camp. John and Lenny were so accommodating and lovely to deal with. We felt we had our own piece of paradise on the river, great spot for fishing and having a swim. Will definitely be back when we can.

We paid an absolute premium price ($250p/n) to sleep in a paddock close-ish to the river. Absolute rip-off. Do not recommend. Road into the camp is also not well maintained and there is no information before booking that it's 6.5km on an overgrown rutted dirt road. Price should be a maximum of $40p/n.

We absolutely loved staying here and John was awesome. He went above and beyond in so many ways - perfect host. Remote location was beautiful. Stargazing, fishing and open fire were great. Will be returning 😁

Perfect riverside camping spot! John is an exceptional host who went above and beyond to ensure we had a wonderful stay. The secluded location meant plenty of fish - we had a great time! Loved spending lazy afternoons cooling off in the shallow river waters. The shaded areas by the river are perfect for relaxing. An absolute gem of a campsite that delivers everything promised and more. Highly recommend!

We stayed at the boat ramp site for one night, it was such a beautiful location on the river. John was a great host, really friendly and generous. We only stayed one night and it was a very wet one, but would love to spend some more time here. Highly recommend :)

We had a great stay here over New Year. Complete peace & quiet with no one else around. Private beach access to swim & cool of in the days heat & fire pit and logs for when the evening cools down. John and wife were lovely hosts. Few bumpy areas on road in but we managed it in a 2wd sprinter camper no dramas. Thoroughly recommended.

Perfect spot to bring in the NY2025 From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with warmth and genuine hospitality that made us feel right at home. The host went above and beyond offering thoughtful gestures and local insights that enhanced our experience. John & his familys kindness and attentiveness truly stood out— sharing stories, laughter, boat rides & fishing on John’s boat,and we were also given honeycombs & the best parts of the lamb John had slaughtered previous days which we had on the bbq to welcome the NY…these were highlights of our stay. Each interaction felt heartfelt and authentic. This experience was more than just a stay—it was an opportunity to connect with wonderful people on our travels who embody the true Aussie spirit and who are amazing land caretaker’s .We are incredibly grateful for the memories created and can’t wait to return someday.
