We purchased our 200-acre property after it was heavily impacted by the Summer 2019/20 bushfires.
As newcomers to farming, we’re learning what it means to live and work on the land. The property came with a flock of sheep—who continue to teach us new things every day—and we share the farm with our incredibly friendly kelpie, Sage.
We’re keen to move toward organic farming, do our part for the environment, and embrace a more sustainable lifestyle. Jackie is always willing to give fresh produce from her veggie garden during your stay just to make you feel welcome. There are horses you can pat and a few sheep that are very friendly and love to be given bread.
The historic Bega Cheese Factory and Heritage Center is just a couple of minutes away. The main shopping center and mall in town is just a five-minute drive.

Misty Mountain Wildlife Refuge is a 330 acre farm which provides sanctuary to kangaroos, wallabies, wombats, echidnas and many bird species including their habitats. There are Alpacas and Sheep, Kangaroos, Wombats, Kookaburras, Echidnas and many other animals that enjoy this property.
The land has 80 acres of cleared grassland this side of the river, and for the adventurous and energetic you can rome the other 250 acres by crossing to the other side of the rive, there are large stands of rainforest and bushland, with 2.5 km of Brown Mountain Creek and its tributary meandering through it. There are some swimming holes and mini rapids; the crystal clear water flowing over the river rocks can be heard from most parts of the farm.
The land comprises Little Brown Mountain and has 360 degree views of the surrounding mountains and farmland with wonderful cloud formations and mists contributing their mystery and beauty to the dramatic landscape.
There is an orchard with trees producing several varieties of apple, stone fruit and citrus in abundance.
A cottage garden produces various vegetables and herbs such as spinach, celery, potatoes, garlic, chives, lettuce, rocket, parsley, turmeric, peas, beans, tomato etc.
Past bushfire damage to some trees in the cleared paddocks is evident however, many are recovering well and most provide photographers with interesting and dramatic subject matter.
Due to the catastrophic events of the NSW bush fires in this area all camp fires must be kept responsibly safe and no unsafe camp fires will be tolerated.
All Guests are required to have an acceptable camp toilet, no holes in the ground.
All river access points are shared, be mindful of others.
As dogs are welcome and even well behaved dogs will be dogs when it comes to their family,
all guests are advised to make themselves known prior to going near another's camp site, then there is no surprises either way.
May common sense prevail.

We intentionally only have a limited number of campsites on our large property, so that you can enjoy camping in a natural setting away from the crowd.
We have drinking water, flushing accessible toilets and one hot shower in a central location a short walk from the campsites. We have a small campers amenities room with a basic kitchen (i.e. a sink, power, kettle, small fridge, microwave) and dining table and chairs, which is a place to do your dishes or shelter in rainy weather. There are also other outdoor pavilions in the central areas on the property.
Enjoy the forest trails here on the property, which take you on a tour to our peaceful back dam. Or explore further afield - our place links to both the Tathra-Kalaru bike track and the Bournda National Park, where you can access the Tathra Mountain Bike Trail Network, as well as the secluded coves along the Kangarutha Walking Track.
Our property is dog friendly for well-behaved dogs that don't chase wildlife or the horses on our property. No hunting dogs.
Campfires permitted when there are no restrictions. You can gather your own wood, or we can prepare wood for you.
Kangarutha also has a country style cottage (with a tennis court!) available for holiday rental - maybe for the parents or friends who are not so into camping! We also have recently launched a new venue 'The Nursery' at Kangarutha Farm, so consider holding your next event at Kangarutha! Contact us for details.

The property has eucalyptus forest, rainforest gullies, fresh mountain water and abundant wildlife include bellbirds and lyrebirds.
The campsite is at the original 1908 selection block by the late John Pearce (one of the first settlers in the area) and has extensive views.
in dry weather you can get here in 2WD towing a small camper trailer. There is a steep hairpin bend so I do not recommend caravans with 2WD vehicles (4WD vehicle and caravan could handle this). Welcome to Wombats Perch, a 4 acre block with access to the beach 150m from the bottom boundary. We are located at the North end of Aslings Beach in a private setting bordering the Beowa National Park.
To the North is Beowa National park, bush that runs all the way to Pambula river mouth, walking and bike tracks are accessible from the camp. Sea eagles nest across the valley, bell birds ping all day and whales can be spotted whilst cooking toasties on the fire. To the East and South are water views right across the Eden Bay to the light house towers.
We offer multiple camping options , 4 x 4 access is recommended but during dry conditions not essential, especially if tenting. 2 flat areas for trailers, vans and small caravans are available. Depending on the set ups we can accommodate 2 to 8 people easily. We have a Jayco Swan, the sites are perfectly suited to similar set ups. BYO water at this stage.
Swimming, snorkeling and fishing are all easily accessed on foot, we have spotted lots and lots of fish, rays and Banjo sharks.
The block is located in a private estate, with limited neighbors and a peaceful setting, we ask that campers respect this during their stay.
Located just 5kms North of Eden, it is private and secluded to stay and hide away for weeks and easy enough to venture into town for dinner when cooking feels optional. Pambula's famous oysters and vibrant shopping are 12 mins North , Merimbula and its holidays activities and excellent restaurant 15 to 20 mins.
Wombats Perch is named after the resident wombats of the area, they keep to them selves but you may find some skillfully perched square poos around the camp.
Please note, ticks are common in the area. Best to pack a freeze pen or Lyclear cream.

We enjoyed ourselves more than expected though. Jodi was wonderful hostess have a help yourself vege garden and eggs and oysters to purchase. Fire wood also was avail label. The area we had was huge in comparison to anywhere we’ve taken our caravan The price much cheaper

Loved camping at Millingandi Station. Peaceful night and we loved that there was a veggie garden for anyone to use and take only what the need. Ended up making a banging chimichurri with the herbs to go with our dinner 😋 Will definitely visit again!

Beautiful, peaceful and natural place with plenty of space between campsites. Lots of wildlife and friendly horses. Creek was great after some good rain. Hosts are friendly and helpful and even offer puppysitting too. Very close to beaches and shops and Merimbula town.

Julie provided a large flat area to camp with friendly horses, wombats a wallabies as a bonus.
Short drive to Bega and Tathra, easy to find and access was in excellent condition.
Absolutely pay Julia a visit if you like a quiet camp spot and ask for some local tips for swimming and adventuring :)

We really enjoyed our stay at Millingandi. The hosts were really responsive when communicating. The paddock area is lovely, grassy, level and large, so you never feel cramped.
My kids and I loved the vegetable patch which we used for our salads. There is a dump point on site, fresh water and toilets available. Great camp.

Amazing spot to disconnect and enjoy nature with wildlife. It has nice amenities and enough space for campers to be spread around the property. It is still in a fantastic location to Merimbula and neighbouring towns to explore. Would recommend if you love camping and a campfire.

Really great spot, 15 mins away from popular swimming areas and the beach. David was lovely and ensured we had everything we needed to be comfortable. As we had dogs, we loved the fact that it was a private site, they could sniff and roam. There is flat spots for tents, and trees to tie a hammock.
Would stay here again!

We really enjoyed camping here. The setting is picturesque and peaceful, the hosts are attentive and the amenities are thoughtfully provided. My son loved feeding the farm animals each evening - it was the highlight of each day for him.

15minute drive from Eden. The river was only a 100m walk for a swim, with lots of fish and small crabs. Bring bug spray as there are lots of small flies at night. There was another group but they were far enough that we couldn't hear them. A drop toilet is shared between the two sites. We saw lots of birds and even deer. The hosts are responsive and helpful. Overall, we had a nice and relaxing long weekend at Earl's Farm campground. Thank you for having us Jesse and Jo!

Easy to find. Easy to set up camp. Plenty of space in the paddock. River area is easy access with a clearance vehicle. Short walk from the paddock. The veggie and herb garden is a nice touch. Picked a few 🌶️ 🫑 🍅 to add to dinner.

We had a lovely time staying at Ben's place. He was very welcoming and met us on arrival to show us to our campsite and explain about the property. The creek was perfect to cool down with the kids on the hot day we had. The campsite was well maintained with a fire pit provided and plenty of space for the kids to run around. The views of the mountains were impressive and we loved the all the stars at night. Highly recommended.
