Sapphire Coast Dairy-Homestead

5 sites · RVs, Tents929 acres · Greendale, NSW
376 hectare operating dairy farm next to Biamanga National Park with access via secret 4WD track to the mountain and 22km to Brogo Dam for bass fishing. 16.5 kms to shopping centre of Bega. & 34 km to Tathra beach. The property has eucalyptus forest, rainforest gullies, fresh mountain water and abundant wildlife include bellbirds and lyrebirds. The campsite is at the original 1908 selection block by the late John Pearce (one of the first settlers in the area) and has extensive views. in dry weather you can get here in 2WD towing a small camper trailer. There is a steep hairpin bend so I do not recommend caravans with 2WD vehicles (4WD vehicle and caravan could handle this). If you have queries regarding access check photos in gallery or please ask me. Flushing toilet on site. Dogs permitted. Good telephone and internet reception. Ideal for flying your new drone.

Kangarutha Farm

13 sites · RVs, Tents115 acres · Kalaru, NSW
Visit Tathra, but stay at Kangarutha, only 2km from the edge of town, and enjoy space, privacy and tranquillity. We intentionally only have a limited number of campsites on our large property, so that you can enjoy camping in a natural setting away from the crowd. Our stunning property is comprised of open paddock areas surrounded by large areas of native forests, and we border national park. Enjoy the forest trails here on the property, which take you on a tour to our peaceful back dam. Or explore further afield - our place links to both the Tathra-Kalaru bike track and the Bournda National Park, where you can access the Tathra Mountain Bike Trail Network, as well as the secluded coves along the Kangarutha Walking Track. Our property was home to the former and well-loved businesses 'Kangarutha Nursery', and 'On the Perch Bird Park'. We have been busy re-imagining these spaces. We have drinking water, flushing accessible toilets and one hot shower a short walk from the campsites. Our property is dog friendly for well behaved dogs that don't chase wildlife or the horses on our property. No hunting dogs. Campfires permitted when there are no restrictions. You can gather your own wood, or we can prepare wood for you.

Bunga Summit

5 sites · RVs, Tents25 acres · Bermagui, NSW
Beautiful Coastal farmland near to Mimosa Rocks National Parks. Easy to access. Close to stunning townships of Bermagui just 15mins north and Tathra 30mins south. Observe an abundance of wildlife - spot an eagle, kangaroo, wallaby, possum, goanna, wombat or whale! Surf or swim any of the amazing beaches or lagoons -Bunga, Hidden Valley, Arraganuu, Bithry, Cuttagee, Camel Rock, Horseshoe Bay or Blue Pool. Walk the dog at Beares beach in Bermagui or Cuttagee beach, 10mins drive north. This is an incredible coastline to explore. Enjoy local fresh produce from Bermagui farmers market in summer on Thursday afternoons; Saturday market at Honorbread courtyard; fresh seafood either catch yourself or purchase from Bermagui Fishermans Wharf. Please note there are 5 beehives approximately 20metres to the east of the shed. This is not a camping area. Please keep to the western side of the shed for camping. Beware, bees do not like dogs and will sting them if the dogs go up close to the hives. There is a little shed on this patch of land and campers have access to an undercover area off the side of the shed plus half of the inside area of the shed not being used for storage. There is a rainwater tank and a compost toilet at the back of the shed. To locate when heading south on Tathra -Bermagui Rd , Turn left into Hergenhans Rd which is approx 14km south of Bermagui, then left into Wrens Rd (Goalen N Rd on google maps) , follow Wrens Rd about 800m and you'll see a gateway on your right with Hipcamp sign (Bunga Summit). It is opposite gateway on left with Lot 3 sign. The next gate is padlocked where the shed and beehives are. Please note the 1st gate on the right on Wrens Rd with the hipcamp sign and No.2 written on post is for Bunga Surf Shack which is on a separate property. To access Bunga Beach, continue along Wrens Rd through neighbouring properties. Please note this road is in poor condition with deep ruts and whilst many 2wd cars do make it down to the beach, I would recommend a 4wd or a car with good clearance. This is National Park so you can't have dogs here. To access Back Bunga Beach continue along Hergenhans Rd and left onto O'sheas Rd which is a much smoother road, taking you through neighbouring properties and ending at Mimosa Rocks National Park. For dog walking beaches head to Cuttagee just 10mins north towards Bermagui, or Beares Beach in Bermagui. For injured wildlife or any wombats with mange around the campsite please phone my neighbour Sara as she volunteers for Wildlife Rescue South Coast. Sara 0435 614 243 Please be respectful of neighbours and do not fly drones over private property.

The best camping near Tura Beach guide

Overview

About

Nestled along the Sapphire Coast Drive, Tura Beach is a tranquil escape boasting pristine sandy shores and a local golf course with million-dollar views. Whether you're looking to unwind with a peaceful day of sunbathing and reading, or seeking adventure with beach fishing and exploring the spectacular Tura Headland, this coastal gem offers a variety of activities to suit every taste. With its uncrowded beaches and scenic walking tracks, Tura Beach is the perfect destination for those who cherish the outdoors.

When to go

The ideal time to visit Tura Beach is during the warmer months, from November to March, when the weather is perfect for beach activities and exploring the headland. However, it's wise to avoid the peak holiday periods if you prefer a more secluded experience. The off-peak season, while cooler, can still offer a cosy retreat with fewer visitors.

Know before you go

  • Check the weather forecast before your visit to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience amid the changing coastal conditions.
  • Be mindful of the local wildlife and adhere to guidelines for dog-friendly areas and off-leash beach zones.
  • Remember to bring sun protection, including sunscreen and a sun umbrella, as shade can be limited.
  • Facilities such as toilets are available near the main carpark; plan accordingly for your comfort.
  • For any assistance or local information, the Merimbula Visitor Information Centre is open from 9am to 4pm Monday to Friday, and 10am to 2pm on weekends and public holidays.
