Situated on Wonboyn Lake, you’ll have direct access to fishing and swimming with the ability to launch a kayak or small boat. Larger boats can be launched in Wonboyn village which is a 5 minute drive from the campsite. The cleared grassy campsite is on 65 acres of bush land where you’ll find kangaroos, wallaby’s, wombats and plenty of birdsong. A fire pit is available for use when fire bans aren't in place. There is plenty of fallen timber on the ground which you are welcome to collect and use for the fire pit but strictly no falling of trees. Clydie’s Knob is surrounded by the Nadgee Nature Reserve which offers bushwalking, birdwatching and swimming in a pristine landscape. The beaches offer great diving, snorkelling, swimming, surfing and picnic areas, all within 15 minutes of our campsite. A pit toilet is available at the site. Please note - This is not fancy! But it does provide privacy. Please ensure that you bring your own hygiene products and toilet paper as this will not be provided. Only toilet paper and paper towel is to be disposed of in the toilet, sanitary items must be placed in your bin. All rubbish is to be removed at the end of your stay and we ask that you leave the property as you found it. 4WD or AWD is recommended for access to the property.

Both sites have access to fresh water and are suitable for caravans as well as tents. We are not and never will be a 'caravan park' - your group will have exclusive use of the campsite. Each are far from each other, both are right near to - or very close to - the river. Our guests love the tranquility and not having to share! Fish the river for flathead or bream and enjoy it for dinner by the campfire. Bring your kayak or SUP or just enjoy a swim in the clear sandy-bottom river. Once your booking request has been confirmed, let us know if you need more specific directions so you can find us easily. Well behaved (spoilt) dogs okay but please no hunting type dogs. Both sites have access to separate taps for fresh drinking water. Firewood can be collected from the property or supplied at a small fee (you can book this when you book your site). Riverview Kiah is offering one campsite nestled on a very quiet part of the Kiah/Towamba river. To minimize impact on neighbors and make your stay more enjoyable, there is only one campsite offered on the whole property, so apart from the owners you will have it all to yourselves. You will need to be a self-contained camper who brings their own camping toilet/shower. We offer access to water via a 1000l pod that is close to the campsite. This water is drinkable and may be used to fill jerry cans/ wash etc. We just ask you to please be frugal with usage. The campsite is situated on a grassy knoll a mere 30m away from your own private beach, which is ideal for fishing kayaking and swimming. The Kiah / Towamba river is well renowned for its excellent fishing. Live bait or soft plastics are best. Live bait can be sourced at nearby Nullica beach or alternatively, frozen prawn's, pipis or salted pilchards also yield success. Some of the species that call the river home are, Flathead, Bream, Luderick, Whiting, Estuary Pearch, Jewfish, Mullet and Flounder. If you bring your kayaks, canoe or roof top tinny the river is very picturesque with unique photo opportunities and an abundance of wildlife. You can head upstream for a way but if you're feeling up to it, it's about a 2.5-hour paddle (at a slow steady pace) to the mouth of the river where Davidsons whaling station is located, as well as the view across the bay to Eden. If you time it right, you can go and return with the tide. Two kayaks and life jackets are provided with all bookings so that people without their own equipment are able to explore the pristine waterway. There is a large firepit near the river that may be utilized as long as there is no total fire ban in effect. If you have your own firepit that can also be used but there are to be no fires on beach or bare earth. Firewood can be provided at an extra cost, (please select in extras, 1 bundle will last 2 nights on average). Directions will be provided 48 hours before arrival; you are welcome to head straight to camp although if around I will meet and greet you upon arrival. Kanukadale is a working Nature Retreat Sanctuary, so additional to BYO campsites, we also offer our Bell Tents when the retreats are not running. Here at Kanukadale, you will share the space with very friendly horses, ponies, miniature goats and our donkey. The property is child friendly as the boundary, river and paddocks are well fenced. You can do as much or as little as you want during your stay. Be sure to check out our awesome animal focussed activities that we offer here. You can find them under Experiences. You are welcome to bring your own horses and dogs. Dogs must stay on a lead whilst on the property and responsible pet ownership is essential here, as is a respectful attitude towards all the other sentient beings on the property. We do not allow generators here. There is lots to do in the area with heaps of nature immersion. East Gippsland is one of the most bio-diverse areas on mainland Australia. You can explore rare, Old Growth forest, historic gold mines, climb to the peak of Mt Ellery and walk through the Errinundra Plateau. Mountain bike riding, horseriding, 4wd touring and bushwalking is awesome in this area. There is a camp kitchen with a communal fridge, microwave, stove and electricity. We have 20 acres of lush river flats adjoining the pristine Brodribb River in the Goongerah Valley. Due to the pristine, clean water straight off the surrounding mountains and the rich fertile river flats, early settlers used this place as a market garden to supply fruit and vegetables to the local townsfolk. After our purchase in 2000, we turned it into a self-sufficient paradise, always welcoming visitors to come and enjoy the land with us. Our BYO campsites are near the river where you can reconnect with nature amongst the tall trees. Kanukadale is a working Nature Retreat Sanctuary, so additional to BYO campsites, we also offer our Bell Tents when the retreats are not running. Here at Kanukadale, you will share the space with very friendly horses, ponies, miniature goats and our donkey. The property is child friendly as the boundary, river and paddocks are well fenced. You can do as much or as little as you want during your stay. Be sure to check out our awesome animal focussed activities that we offer here. You can find them under Experiences. You are welcome to bring your own horses and dogs. Dogs must stay on a lead whilst on the property and responsible pet ownership is essential here, as is a respectful attitude towards all the other sentient beings on the property. We do not allow generators here. There is lots to do in the area with heaps of nature immersion. East Gippsland is one of the most bio-diverse areas on mainland Australia. You can explore rare, Old Growth forest, historic gold mines, climb to the peak of Mt Ellery and walk through the Errinundra Plateau. Mountain bike riding, horseriding, 4wd touring and bushwalking is awesome in this area. There is a camp kitchen with a communal fridge, microwave, stove and electricity. There is also a composting toilet and hot shower facilities. There is free wifi. THERE ARE NO SHOPS OR FUEL OR MOBILE RECEPTION. WIFI CALLING WORKS IF YOU HAVE THAT OPTION. THE CLOSEST TOWN IS 50 KM TO DELEGATE OR 70KM TO ORBOST. YOU NEED TO COME COMPLETELY PREPARED OR IT’S A LONG DRIVE TO TOWN. THERE IS A PUBLIC PHONE BOX UP THE ROAD.

The small township of Wolumla is within walking distance and consists of a great pub and a general store. 200 acres of scenic farm paddocks with seasonal creek, and forested hills adjoining the Bournda National Park. See kangaroos, wallabies and wombats and if you are lucky an echidna or deer! I had a wonderful stay at Merimbula Camping. The bush scenery was lovely and the wombats were hilarious and cute. They liked my caravan and used it as a backscratcher at various times in the night. I then put solar lights around so they mostly stayed away. I loved seeing them in the paddock each night - gentle and quiet. There are many other spacious and beautiful sites with drum fireplaces. The toilets were fine. Hot showers available up at the house. Excellent location just out of town . Water available (bring jerries) on site but you can also get it near town on the Bega Rd out. Dump point available in Pambula a few kms away. Great camping - I’ll be back Meredith !

We absolutely loved camping with Jenny and Arthur. Arthur met us on the highway and escorted us to our site. The site was huge and level with mown green grass. For a small additional price, you can access potable water and power, which we did not need on our weekend trip, but is great for those planning a longer stay. The river ran up to the site. Unfortunately, the weather was too cold for swimming, but the water looked inviting. The toilet was a long drop, but it was immaculate, with tap water for washing your hands. The wildlife was diverse, and spotting the different birds and animals was a fun activity. I would thoroughly recommend Kiah Wilderness Camp.
