The bend
Amazing riverside spot with plenty of wildlife around to enjoy. The site was peaceful and spacious, making it a great place to relax with the family . The hosts were incredibly generous and welcoming, which made our stay even better. We’d happily stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a secluded nature escape.
We had the most wonderful weekend at this beautiful property. It was very deep into the bush which created a perfect place to disconnect and unwind. The toilet was very clean and the grounds were cleared and perfect for a quick set up. We really enjoyed the river and camp fire !
The owners of the property were very responsive on the app and were super lovely in person ! We felt very welcomed ☺️

The Bend was stunning! Truely such a beautiful campsite - super secluded and lush and so much room to play with with. The toilet was well maintained and fully stocked and our hosts were lovely and accomodating. Highly recommend

One of the best Hipcamp sites we’ve used. Very private with plenty of clear flat ground to pitch a tent. Next to creek with clean running water for refreshing bush wash. Excellent fire pit and toilet. The hosts, Joanne & Joe are friendly, helpful and easy to deal with. Highly recommend and will definitely visit again.
So private. Tucked away. Could have been in the middle of nowhere. Wild creek running. Brilliant.

We had a wonderful weekend staying at Thurra bush campground. It was in the perfect bush setting. We were even lucky enough to see a platypus. We will definitely stay here again.
Another great stay at The Bend, love the serenity and having the river close by on the warmer days. Heaps of space to enjoy the private site. Our host was very accommodating with any of of needs.

We utterly loved our stay at The Bend. What a stunning property and part of the world this is. The river is more gorgeous than we imagined. Joanne and Jo were excellent hosts, friendly, plenty of tips on things to see and do. We loved visiting The Falls and enjoyed exploring the river further upstream on a hot day. The Bend campsite is beautifully maintained with a great big fire pit and a drop toilet that is about as pleasant as a drop toilet could be! We were so impressed our group had a toilet photo competition with one another!
We will absolutely be returning again, well worth the drive from Melbourne.
One of the best campgrounds ever! Lovely spot right on the river. The grounds are perfectly maintained and it’s easy to go for a quick swim. The toilet is also very clean wnd convenient. Would highly highly recommend!
It was a wonderful secluded spot. We had a private spot all to ourselves and just had the sound of the moving creek and wildlife. It’s a large property so if there were other hip campers I don’t think we would have known. The track was fine for our 2WD - just took it slow.
View was really awesome, starry night with shooting stars. Saw lots skinks and cute goanna too! Would definitely come back again in cooler weather.
We stayed at ‘The Falls’, which was a beautiful spot high above the river with views across the valley. Long drop facilities were immaculate. Swam in small pool at base of small falls and saw Water Dragons which was cool. Definitely not big enough or safe to dive in, more of a wallow!

Wow! What an amazing spot. Very secluded, and a huge space. The pit toilet was very clean! Lovely to have a swim in the river to cool off, and so awesome to hear the platypuses at night splashing about, unreal stars on a clear night. Very friendly and accommodating hosts. Highly recommend! Even just for an overnight stop.
Big, beautiful sites with enormous spaces (forest/hills) between sites so you have complete privacy from other campers. Cleanest pit toilet I’ve ever seen, with a view worth $$$$.
Big fire pits and generous supply of firewood if you choose to purchase it.
This place was everything I hoped it would be and the super friendly hosts just topped it off
If you want to get away from the maddening crowd and completely turn off from your tech, this is the spot. Immersing myself in the isolation, the only sounds coming from nature and being able to sit by the rushing river or sit on the loo while looking at the bush, gave me the most alive feeling. The spot is perfect with the cleared circle and excellent fire pit all bringing such a sense of peace. Even heard a lyrebird go through its paces.

Awesome, private campsite in a beautiful setting with lovely hosts.
Great helpful hosts, nice river side camp ,heaps of space . Drop toilet is clean and maintained well. Track in is pretty tight with a van, something to look out for . And it would be amazing if the river was flowing. Prob a bit far off the main rd for a single night though. Again lovely hosts very helpful and kind.👍

The flat
Could not recommend this place enough. We had such a great time staying at Joanne and Joe’s property, and they were very welcoming and great hosts.
The property is absolutely beautiful and the site very private, also soo much wildlife around to see (bandicoots, birds, deer etc..).
So beautiful that we even got engaged down by the river. 💍
We will have very fond memories of this place and look forward to staying here again some time in the future.

Love that each site is so separate from the next, it truly had that serene vibe, no sign of other humans. Camped next to the river, a beautiful background symphony.

Water Dragon
Thank you Jo for welcoming us to your little slice of paradise. We had a fantastic time. The site was very private, with excellent facilities, fire pit, wood available for purchase. The little touches of everything did not go unnoticed. This was our first Hipcamp experience which I think will be hard to beat. Would love to be back one day. Jo and her family were very friendly and welcoming.

I wish I had more than one night. I have never felt such serenity. Easy to find, Joanne waiting for us and showed us our spot on The Bend. Our fire pit was perfect and wood available to buy. As a new camper I knew I had found my paradise.

The best hip camp we have ever stayed at. The Owners have done an amazing job. The sites are completely private and so peaceful, It's absolute paradise.
Thurra Bush Camp has some of the best campsites we've ever seen. Towering gum trees, beautiful rivers, grassy sites and absolute privacy. This is what camping dreams are made of. We'll be back.
