Guests MUST be fully self-contained and bring their own camping toilet. (No holes in the ground) you will need to have a suitable camp toilet where you are able to take your waste with you on departure.

Licola is a small and attractive village beside the Macalister River, 254 kilometers east of Melbourne. Licola is a great place to use as a base camp for you to 4wd, Hike, Mountain bike, motorbike and canoeing in high country. We offer accommodation in the form of Houses that consist of 3 to 4 bedrooms all with kitchenette, toilets and showers. Each house can sleep from 18 to 20 people in bunk style accommodation. With access to the pool and River to Lauch your canoe it is a perfect place for summer fun. All houses have split system air conditioning and heating. We also have a communal large self cater kitchen and large communal BBQ area. It is the only privately owned town in Victoria and the only one not on mains power. The town generates its own power, pumps and treats its own water and is also responsible for its waste management.
The Licola Wilderness Village is supported by the Lions Clubs of Victoria and southern New South Wales. Licola Wilderness Village was set up by Lions Clubs over 50 years ago primarily to run camps for the underprivileged, deserving, special needs, and disengaged young people, mostly held during school holidays.

The property is the bush refuge corner of a larger grazing property. Whilst sheep and cattle graze on one side of the fence, the wildlife grazing on "our" side includes echidnas, wombats, wallabies, possums, koalas, and is home to more than 30 species of birds identified so far.
Tarwin Lower EcoStudio is not far out of town and the Tarwin River (4 kms), for boating, paddling and fishing. Slightly further afield is Andersen Inlet (great fishing, paddling, paddle boarding, boating, and shallow waters for very young children), Venus Bay Surf beaches, and Walkerville South bay beach (with boat ramp). Waratah Bay and Wilsons Promontory less than an hour's drive away. And that's just the water sports.
The Great Southern Rail Trail is just up the road, at Koonwarra or Leongatha, and has a range of rides with varying degrees of challenge.
The Eco Studio itself is completely off grid, built from reclaimed and recycled materials, as part of our commitment to living lightly. There is an outdoor kitchen, and composting toilet, and our home garden (we live on the property too) is often abundant and the fresh organic produce is for sale for our visitors.

Camp in a semi-sheltered paddock on our 25 acre family farm "Ennisvale" on the outskirts of Sandy Point. You'll be on the doorstep of the most beautiful beaches, fishing, vibrant local towns and Wilson’s Prom. Wake up to birdsong, go to sleep to the sound of the waves, and spot a koala if you’re lucky. With an outdoor flush toilet (rustic!), cold bore water shower, fridge (old but works fine!), power for charging devices, and drinking water, you’ll be very comfortable as you explore the local area. We love it here and we know you will too.
You may be the only campers or there may be others on the far side of the paddock or the orchard next door depending on time of year. You’ll have your own private space but will be close enough to the action to see the comings and goings of our multigenerational family as we potter around the farm, veggie garden and orchard. Say hi! Say g'day to the curious chooks and friendly dogs and enjoy the top-notch "equine views" from your site with three lovely horses in the nearby paddock. (Please don't enter their paddock).

The main camp site has a large flat area and can accommodate most vehicles. The grass can be a bit rough and expect some sticks and twigs and holes around. Horses sometimes graze the paddock and poo is picked up but if you're lucky you might find some remnants!
No wild party groups, please! Please respect the peaceful surrounds, our family and neighbours, so please keep the noise down after 10pm.
Sorry, but dogs are generally not allowed as we have dogs, free-ranging chickens, horses and cattle, and they may not mix well!

Great location, Chris is a great host. It's nice to be so 'alone' in a nice location but with a flush toilet. Campsite is bit more than 5 mins from carpark. If it's raining be prepared for bit of mud :-)

This was my favourite camping trip. The property was amazing. Very secluded and lush. Our kids had a great time exploring, we didn't even need to leave, we could just explore the property. There was so much wildlife, cows, birds, a goat, wallabies, roos. It was an escape from the city and suburbs. The toilet was epic! Such a great view. And Chris was very helpful and accommodating, considering we had alot of stuff to cart over ! Highly recommend it, and would do it again

Another terrific stay at Hazelnut Valley Farm Stay.
We had a nice flat site next to the river and within walking distance of the alpacas.
We did have neighbours startle us with their arrival at 9pm, but otherwise we could barely see other campers.
We did have wood dropped off for a campfire but with 3 rainy nights, we decided to leave it there for the next visitors.
My sister and I have already picked our next site for the September school holidays.

We loved our stay at Trent’s place. It was so peaceful camping next to the running creek, having the camp fire going all day. There’s minimal to no reception but it was nice being off grid for a few days. There’s a flushable toilet and a shower which we weren’t expecting. Good value and not too far from Melbourne, so we’d definitely come back here.

A beautiful view over the creek and paddocks nearby, surrounded by stunning eucalypts, a really peaceful site to camp at. Trent was incredibly generous and helpful and we loved hearing about his work to the property to restore the creek ecologically. Kids had fun feeding the animals and trying for a crayfish in the creek and we also visited haunted hills for a ride which was fun! Highly recommend this camp ☺️

It’s a beautiful spot, and the owner is incredibly helpful. We’d forgotten to bring chairs, but the owner kindly lent us some. Here, we saw a rainbow and a starry sky; the bonfire and the evening glow complemented each other perfectly, leaving us feeling utterly content. Our little dog had a brilliant time too.

We loved Site 1 particularly to the privacy and isolation for our “picky” dog, has different reactions to different dogs.
Trent was very accommodating and pleasant during our stay and thank you Matt for making me feel comfortable with Addy having a play with Ted & Billy. Chooks like to say a quick hello too.
We are close to the stream, free firewood (just bring your own chainsaw/axe) just help yourself to the piles. Fire bins provided for warmth and cook delicious baked potatoes in jacket, bring your own rack for flame grilled steaks and burgers and meal done, yum.
The farm is “rustic” with plenty for the kids to explore, Trent has also supplied toys and a trampoline to keep them interested.
Enjoyed visiting the Alpacas and cows on Trent’s property.
There is one drop loo and one Ifco relocatable flushing toilet and shower combo, tp supplied.
Just picked bags of potatoes were for sale too and an outside tap and shower for potable water.
Stayed for 5 nights of R & R, didn’t want to leave but will definitely come back.
Our air suspension on our 18ft off road was put in good use due to the slight decline, take levelling ramps if staying with your caravan or alike. Smaller camper trailers can fit right beside the stream.
Was confusing on location, just enter the driveway where Trent has his solar business sign on fence (forgot name).
Looking forward to visiting again soon.

The property was beautiful well mantained and a view that was out of this world.
Nigel anmd his family were ao helpful and took care of our needs.
I would recommend the Forge Creek to families or just the couple that need a quiet get away and we will be back.
Loved the farm animals as did my grandsons.
