There is an abundance of birdlife, including kookaburras, fairy wrens, greater shrike thrushes, robins, bellbirds, wedge-tail eagles, magpies and owls.
We are within easy reach of Toolangi State Forest with many walks and trails, including the WirraWilla Rainforest Walk and the Kalatha Giant tree walk.
This area is also popular for 4 wheel driving and there are plenty of tracks in the nearby state forest if you have the correct gear, vehicle and an appreciation for the wilderness.
Healesville, Yarra Glen and Kinglake are equal distance away (~20 minutes by car) with services, cafes, restaurants, wineries and shopping:

This acreage was historically a larger soldiers settlements property comprising a dairy, piggery and wool farming. The quality of the land hasn't changed with most of the region's farmland in use, so this is a cool place to stay in the Macedon Ranges.
Currently home to our family, the property is also visited by many native Australian birdlife species, many marsupials including kangaroos, echidna, possums and even a koala.
With close proximity to coffee shops and local stores of Romsey and Lancefield Providore, you have only a few minutes to drive to stock up on local produce.
Walking the trails around Hanging Rock is a 10-minute drive and Mt Macedon lookout 15min.

Our property, "Seven Hills Tallarook", sits high above Tallarook with deep valleys and high peaks, just over one hour North of Melbourne's CBD. The property is 600 acres of thick Victorian bush and farmed paddocks.
We have a wide range of hobby farm animals - pigs, sheep, alpacas, chickens, ponies, a donkey, along with commercial heard of South African Boer Goats. As night falls, the wildlife come out to play - kangaroos, rabbits, deer and wallabies.
Internally, we have in excess of 10 kilometers of roads within the property, the majority being 2WD accessible (weather conditions apply). There are parts of the property which are only 4WD accessible.
Our campsites are placed to allow you to be as isolated as possible - away from other campers (you may see others as you drive past, or they drive past you). At some of our bush sites, you will be able to see other campers, but they are not close by.
Additionally, we anticipate our Fire Danger Period for the 2025/2026 Summer Season will commence in the coming weeks. We have not toggled the Fire Ban on as we do still allow campfires, however campers MUST adhere to CFA guidelines at all times. On days of Total Fire Ban (TFB), no fires, including gas stoves can be lit outdoors. In event of the TFB toggle needing to be used on Hipcamp, this will advise all guests booked on that day and to all future guests. We will toggle it off once the TFB is removed. Furthermore, we reserve the right to ask you not to light a fire regardless of TFB status if we feel weather conditions are unsafe, especially the wind element. We cannot plan the weather and the request to not light your campfires will most likely be on the day and we will advise as such. Our interest is with your safety, our neighbors and our property and our family.

Summerleigh Homestead is a historic property located on Deep Creek Valley, 10 minutes southeast of Romsey and an hour from the CBD of Melbourne.
Deep Creek Valley is characterised by majestic views and steep rocky declines, carved over millennia by the permanently flowing Deep Creek, originating in the Great Dividing Range and eventually becoming the mighty Yarra River in Melbourne.
Below the Homestead, in the valley, along the banks of Deep Creek, are four designated and generously sized camp sites, offering two types of camping. All only suitable for 4WD or SUV access.
- Sambar : one larger caravan or two tents / rooftop vehicles site, located on Deep Creek (half-) island. A premier site.
- Red : one larger caravan or two tents / rooftop vehicles, located next to Sambar.
- Fallow : a one family tent site, or two small hiking tents.

The property, Springwater Gardens, Toolangi, Yarra Valley, is on six acres amongst the tall trees the region is famous for. There is a pond served by a natural spring. There is one campsite available, beside the forest so you will have privacy.
There is an area of thick native forest and a stand of the critically endangered Round-leaf Pomaderris right near the camping area.
There is an abundance of birdlife, including kookaburras, fairy wrens, greater shrike thrushes, robins, bellbirds, wedge-tail eagles, magpies and owls.
We are within easy reach of Toolangi State Forest with many walks and trails, including the WirraWilla Rainforest Walk and the Kalatha Giant tree walk.
This area is also popular for 4 wheel driving and there are plenty of tracks in the nearby state forest if you have the correct gear, vehicle and an appreciation for the wilderness.
Healesville, Yarra Glen and Kinglake are equal distance away (~20 minutes by car) with services, cafes, restaurants, wineries and shopping:

This acreage was historically a larger soldiers settlements property comprising a dairy, piggery and wool farming. The quality of the land hasn't changed with most of the region's farmland in use, so this is a cool place to stay in the Macedon Ranges.
Currently home to our family, the property is also visited by many native Australian birdlife species, many marsupials including kangaroos, echidna, possums and even a koala.
With close proximity to coffee shops and local stores of Romsey and Lancefield Providore, you have only a few minutes to drive to stock up on local produce.
Walking the trails around Hanging Rock is a 10-minute drive and Mt Macedon lookout 15min.

Our property, "Seven Hills Tallarook", sits high above Tallarook with deep valleys and high peaks, just over one hour North of Melbourne's CBD. The property is 600 acres of thick Victorian bush and farmed paddocks.
We have a wide range of hobby farm animals - pigs, sheep, alpacas, chickens, ponies, a donkey, along with commercial heard of South African Boer Goats. As night falls, the wildlife come out to play - kangaroos, rabbits, deer and wallabies.
Internally, we have in excess of 10 kilometers of roads within the property, the majority being 2WD accessible (weather conditions apply). There are parts of the property which are only 4WD accessible.
Our campsites are placed to allow you to be as isolated as possible - away from other campers (you may see others as you drive past, or they drive past you). At some of our bush sites, you will be able to see other campers, but they are not close by.
Additionally, we anticipate our Fire Danger Period for the 2025/2026 Summer Season will commence in the coming weeks. We have not toggled the Fire Ban on as we do still allow campfires, however campers MUST adhere to CFA guidelines at all times. On days of Total Fire Ban (TFB), no fires, including gas stoves can be lit outdoors. In event of the TFB toggle needing to be used on Hipcamp, this will advise all guests booked on that day and to all future guests. We will toggle it off once the TFB is removed. Furthermore, we reserve the right to ask you not to light a fire regardless of TFB status if we feel weather conditions are unsafe, especially the wind element. We cannot plan the weather and the request to not light your campfires will most likely be on the day and we will advise as such. Our interest is with your safety, our neighbors and our property and our family.

We absolutely loved our stay. There’s 2 sites on the property and you pass the creek site on the way in the have the whole back paddock to yourself. The area into the site was steep with dirt track so we were a bit concerned with the 21ft full off-road van but it was fine. We loved the peace and quiet however it’s close enough to Romsey if you need supplies and hanging rock is literally down the road if you feel like being more adventurous. Looking forward to the next time we can stay.

Great hosts, and friendly dogs, great fire pit. Fish in the pond (if you're inclined). Loads of birds, some horses. Apparently there is a platypus somewhere, but I didn't see it. Electricity available, but BYO water. Nearest town for supplies is Bunyip (16km). Access via dirt roads for about 6km, so it could get uncomfortable in a car or camper. Almost zero phone reception (which can be a good thing). Some nice trails nearby if you feel like a hike.

We recently spent a few days here with our two young kids and had a great time. Our campsite was right by the lake, providing some beautiful views and a very relaxing atmosphere.
There was plenty of birdlife around, and we were lucky enough to spot kangaroos and an echidna during our stay.
The bathrooms and toilets were immaculate and very well maintained. The kids especially got a kick out of the hot outdoor shower.
The kids enjoyed exploring the vegetable garden and orchard, having a go at identifying the different herbs and plants.
The staff were incredibly helpful and friendly throughout. They were very generous with the firewood, which we appreciated. A huge thanks to Jemillia, who was so understanding when we had a mechanical issue with our camper; she even lent us the tools to fix it, which really saved our trip.
It was a great experience all around. We’ll definitely be back.

Great spot. Easy drive, really clear instructions, and utter privacy. Feels like a rare treat these days to have a campsite all to yourself, so cant recommend enough. Really beautiful birdlike here too. Just watch out for snakes!

This Hipcamp is amazing, with beautiful lakeside camp sites well spaced apart. The bathroom facilities are excellent and we kept clean throughout our stay despite 6 or so other groups staying on the property. Some may find the trip to the bathroom too far but many campers drove up. We ordered firewood with our booking and thought the amount supplied was good value. Highly recommended and hope to return.
