The cabin has spectacular views overlooking the valley with an abundance of wildlife and has a small creek and several caves which have formed over millions of years.
As well as the cabin, we offer a camping area to larger groups that need overflow accommodation if the cabin is not big enough. This makes Hidden Valley House a fantastic option for large groups wanting to have all the comfort and amenities of the cabin, but experience the back-to-basic joy of camping in nature.
Set on an 18-acre property at the start of the Brisbane National Ranges, it is home to koalas, kangaroos, echidnas, sugar gliders and an abundance of birds including eagles and kookaburras. Furthermore, the land is protected by Trust for Nature and Land for Wildlife offering long-term protection for many ecosystems, species and native wildlife.
The property is surrounded by national parks and is only a short drive from charming, historical towns such as Meredith and Steiglitz and only 25mins to Geelong. A number of family-owned wineries are located nearby and within Victoria’s Moorabool Valley winery.

Also eels in a another couple of dams on property, so it certainly has something for all anglers.
550 acre property which has 3 different seasonal creeks flowing through it.
Six excellent hideaway Camping sites to choose from. Some close to the water.
Large sites which can handle 40 campers per site.
Good areas of bushland and also a working sheep farm. Very private areas for camping. Campfires available but only in months when fire restrictions are not in force.
A wide range of birdlife and duck life, wildlife including kangaroos, possums, echidnas.
In wet weather you may need a 4 wheel drive vechile to access some of the sites.
You will need to bring all your camping gear as these are tent and vechile sites only. We dont have any huts at this stage.
30 minute drive to Ballarat, 45 Min Geelong, 2 minutes drive to the village of Elaine and The Farmgate Shop which is open 7 days a week with a full range of all groceries, bbq needs, drinks, snacks, etc.

We absolutely loved our stay here, John was super hospitable and friendly, and checked in on us throughout the stay to make sure everything was ok. The property was gorgeous, lovely hills and trees and backing into a forest, we saw kangaroos and wallabies hop through, and there were rams in the paddock who were friendly but kept their distance. I would come back in a heartbeat, a truely lovely stay.

Top notch spot with a ledgend for a host, takes you far enough in that you really do get that bush feel while having very clean toilets and showers for the wife and not too far to get back on the road epic compromise. We had a fantastic time at Trout Site beside Lake 2. The atmosphere was truly amazing peaceful, immersive, and deeply connected to nature. We enjoyed complete privacy with no disturbances at all, making it feel like we were indulged in nature at its purest.
The landscapes are stunning, and the friendly sheep that came to greet us a couple of times a day added such a charming touch! We were spoiled with beautiful sunsets and awesome star gazing that made the evenings unforgettable.
Highly recommend this spot for anyone seeking a serene escape. Thank you to Mark for creating such a special place!

What an amazing spot! Lots of space, lots to do. It was quiet, so quiet. Very relaxing.
Close to Daylesford and other small town. Recommend Smeaton Hotel for a awesome feed and friendly service.
And Anneke is a gracious host. She check up on us to make sure all was good. She has lots of knowledge of things to do locally.

Beautiful quiet spot. Loads of space to choose from. We loved being able to have a paddle in the dam. The site is cleared and flat but also surrounded by bush which was full of birds and wildlife. A great peaceful escape

We had a last minute stay at Marc’s. Was beautifully kept gardens and nice green grass for the kids to play on. We particularly loved the geese and animals wandering around, was a point of interest for our kids. Power and water available if you wanted it but we didn’t use any. Toilet was fine for what we needed. We made a few camping friends which made the trip extra special for us and the location is great. In the middle of everything.

It’s our very first camping trip which was very fun and special, my 3yo son loves the chickens and geese. The campsite is well maintained and very quiet, very little light pollution which was perfect for stargazing and having beers over campfire, people are super friendly. Highly recommended. It can be a bit windy at night, so bring tents that are low profile and aerodynamic which are better than our ginormous gazebo tent which acted like a big sailing boat in the middle of the night, but we were lucky that the wind stop after 2am so I could had a good sleep in the second half of the night. There’s a Maccas nearby if you need something quick which is always a great option such as a grabbing a quick bite before go to the Adventure Park next door. We would definitely consider to come back again. Well done, Marc and Steve.

We had a relaxing stay at Nirvana., The property is well laid out and felt quiet and private even though there were a few campers there during our stay. Our kids absolutely loved the trampoline and exploring the property to check out the chickens and neighboring horse. They also enjoyed the company of a few other children who stayed. The location was close to everything on the peninsula so we were able to easily explore the area. Would love to come back soon!

Fantastic spot! Marc’s property is amazing…. all the modern conveniences you’d need and want but secluded enough to feel like you’re a bit off grid. We had a lovely view of the neighbouring farms and a gorgeous horse who came up to say a few times! The property is very well maintained and even with 4 or 5 other guests, we had enough space to feel like we were the only ones there. Can’t recommend highly enough and will definitely be back!! The kids loved the trampoline!!!

We loved staying at Misty Mornings! Nice flat ground, great for Caravans, rooftop tents and ground tents. Gorgeous views, nice and quiet and plenty of room between the 2 sites.

Was a lovely little camp site, Mark and his wife were easy to deal with, they even brought some kayaks for us too use on the dam. Nice and secluded, they also allowed the use of the nearby hut. Would recommend.
