Summerleigh Homestead is a historic property located on Deep Creek Valley, 10 minutes southeast of Romsey and an hour from the CBD of Melbourne. Deep Creek Valley is characterised by majestic views and steep rocky declines, carved over millennia by the permanently flowing Deep Creek, originating in the Great Dividing Range and eventually becoming the mighty Yarra River in Melbourne. The views were absolutely stunning and made the perfect backdrop for a peaceful getaway. The property itself is beautifully maintained, with plenty of space to relax and enjoy nature. The host was so accommodating and friendly, they really went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed. It’s one of those places that instantly makes you feel relaxed and grateful to have found it. Highly recommend and would love to come back again!

Lovely spot, surrounded by trees filled with birds and kangaroos hopping by the creek. Pet pony who loves a pay. Generous campfire and wood offering. Toilet a separate building off the house (50mtr walk). Easy bike rides and access to walking trails. Some might consider it close to house, essentially a large (pretty) backyard. You will hear neighbors dogs barking. Owner had some music playing with friends (Sat night) but promptly turned off when kids bedtime rolled around.

I had a lovely couple of nights up at Sunset Ridge! The first night was quite windy but that’s expected in Springtime in the hills. Everything was SO green, every walk we went on was incredible views. The campsite is lovely and secluded, you wouldn’t even know there was anyone else on the property. My dog found the dam on the last morning and enjoyed a cool off. Being able to have her off lead made the experience that much more enjoyable for both of us. Paul was great to deal with too! 😊

The weather was wet and cold and luckily we had a site close to the ammenities block. The site was on grass and easy access drive through. Be a lovely park in summer with access to the lake for swimming, fishing and walking. We could take our dog and she loved it.

We had a great Easter Weekend at Sunset Hill. Visited by Kangaroos, a wombat , wedged tailed eagles and an alpaca! Nice quiet spot, with plenty of space. Ideal location to explore the area, Great communication from our host. Overall met our expectations, we’ll be back !

I felt really welcomed at reception when I arrived and was given a flat, level caravan site and a helpful park map which was simple to follow. The free wi-fi was a bonus. I really liked the security with a code for the boom gate to keep the hoons out. Will definitely go back another time.

Great park! Fantastic location next to a large lake that is great for swimming, close to shops and cycle tracks and the people running the park were lovely too. Nice little playground for the kids, facilities were old but nice and clean. All in all i would definitely recommend it to others travellers.

Weekend Trip to Summerleigh Homestead, circa 1876

We stayed at Sambar camp, a quiet, secluded spot next to the creek. The stay was exactly as expected, owners were friendly and accommodating without being intrusive. Sites were all very well maintained. Quite a steep dirt road to exit the property, so would definitely recommend 4wd if you're towing a camper, or in the wet. Will be staying again!

A gem of a caravan park in a pretty little town. The first night was very quiet however when the park filled the next night (long weekend) we still didn't feel cramped. There is a great swimming pool (lake?) with access from the caravan park. The amenities were very clean, there was seating under the trees and play equipment for the kids. I highly recommend this caravan park and would love to return one day.

Loved our stay at Sunset Hill! A big, secluded site with gorgeous views from every angle and ample shade for the hot days. The nearby dam was perfect for the dogs to cool off, and Paul's communication was top notch!
