The Craigbourne Dam is a all year round recreational fishing ground and stocks many species of fish i.e. Atlantic Salmon, Brown Trout and Rainbow Trout to name a few.
Our property is a pet friendly park but we do ask all patrons to be considerate of the surrounding farmland and live stock .
As we are a fully self contained campground we do not provide power, toilets or showers. You'll need to have your own amenities and discard of any rubbish .

Beautiful located right beside the Ringarooma River. Fish in the river, swim or just spot a platypus in the river. There is a kayak that you are welcome to use to have a paddle in the water. We have a 40ft shipping container now on site, this has books and games you are welcome to use during your stay. It also has jams, sauces and honey for sale. Property is located a 5 minutes' drive out of Derby. You can cross the river and then you are on the bike track that will take you to Derby or Branxholm, this is a beautiful walking track or carry your bike across river then ride.
Quiet location perfect place to stay for a few nights. Awesome quiet spot to get away. Property is on a working dairy/beef farm.
Wood available for sale at camp to use in fire pits for just $10 a tub.
We have just put in a private dump point for guest convince.

Access height has been raised to 3.7meters. Pine Ridge has been developed over the years to be a natural park land with a good variety of local vegetation including stands of mature trees. lower scrub has been removed for physical and viewing access and to keep the property more secure and manageable. The vegetation also provides significant protection on windy days compared to many other open places. Native animals and birdlife abound the location. There is a community pergola area beside the substantial water hole which has a small jetty allowing easy access for swimming. There is also a stone barbecue and fire pit area available on suitable weather conditions.
There are ocean views from the property's main road areas, which also provide a large area of flatish firm ground with large areas providing easy maneuverability and turning.
The property is 2-3km from the main highway turn off that leads to the Douglas Apsley National Park. The corner of the property is only 50 meters from the park edge, with the Parks main access several km further along Rosedale Rd. The turn off is only 2 km from the town edge. It is sealed road except for the last 100meters and in good condition.
FIRES. Ok unless a fire ban. GOOD BAGS OF WOOD ON SITE FOR $20. NO OUTSIDE WOOD CAN BE BROUGHT ONTO THE PROPERTY AND BURNT. I HAVE TRIED TO MAKE A MIDDLE GROUND ON THIS ISSUE BUT UNFORTUNATELY SOME HAVE ABUSED THE FAIR RULES SO THIS IS NOW THE SITUATION.

I offer private bush camping beside a small lake on a 103-acre rainforest property. Only one group is allowed at a time, making this an exclusive camping and bushwalking experience. Guests also enjoy private walking-track access into Tasman National Park, including routes toward Tunnel Bay and Shipstern Bluff.
A toilet is available in the owner’s home, and fresh drinking water is provided. Stays are limited to a single group, with a maximum of four people, so the space is entirely yours to explore in peace.
Please note that the driveway is not suitable for large campervans. Two-wheel drive vehicles are generally fine, but care is required. There may also be an opportunity to arrange a short extended stay in exchange for light gardening work, by prior discussion.
Important: This is not a party property. It is a private residence in a uniquely quiet and secluded location on the edge of a high-value national park. Playing loud music or behaving in a drunken, antisocial, or otherwise disrespectful manner will result in the owner contacting the police. Please keep this in mind before booking to avoid any issues.
Due to serious fire risk and the potentially devastating impact on the surrounding area, campfires are highly restricted and permitted only in safe weather conditions, as determined by the owner.

You’ll have access to your own private walking track into the national park, along with a vast natural area to explore. The property is largely undisturbed temperate rainforest, featuring creeks, springs, a 35-metre waterfall (after good rain), incredible plant and animal diversity, and countless places to wander at your leisure.
You may even spot a resident Tasmanian devil, and you’ll certainly be surrounded by native marsupials—plus the occasional enthusiastic greeting from my doodle dog, Roo.

Discover Leven River Camping at Wattle Farm, a tranquil retreat nestled on the edge of the wilderness, where the river and forest greet you at your front door. This naturally forested 100-acre property is a haven for abundant native wildlife, offering an idyllic escape into nature.
When you book, you'll secure a site within one of our designated camping areas, with the freedom to choose your exact setup spot upon arrival. We offer two main areas: "The Big Paddock" (left of the road) and "The Little Paddock" (right of the road).
The Big Paddock is ideally suited for smaller campervans, tents, swags, off-road caravans, and camper trailers. Here, you can set up anywhere within its bounds; pitching your tent among the trees or along the river is perfect for a truly immersive experience. An approximately 3-acre clearing is also available by the river.
For easier access directly from the road, The Little Paddock is an excellent choice. While suitable for smaller vehicles, it's also ideal for larger caravans. This area offers approximately 5 acres of clearing right beside the river. Both paddocks are conveniently located just before the bridge and provide ample open space for outdoor activities like frisbee or cricket.
Natural Surroundings & Activities:
Leven River Camping borders the Dial Range Nature Recreation Area and a Nature Conservation Reserve. Our sites are set on lush, green, fern-filled river flats within a sometimes misty forested valley, cradled below Mt Duncan and Mt Lorymer. The surrounding area boasts popular hiking and mountain biking trails.
The Leven River itself is a highlight, offering some of the best trout fishing in North West Tasmania. You'll also find perfect spots for kayaking, along with private river beaches where you can relax, paddle, swim, or enjoy a picnic.
Access to the property is via a very scenic 4km, well-maintained gravel road that winds downhill to the base of the valley.
Important Information
No facilities are provided on-site. Guests must bring their own camping toilet (a dumping point is available in Knights Rd, West Ulverstone) and are responsible for all rubbish removal.

I started living here permanently seven years ago, most of the property's out dwellings and the Cabin is built from recycled, reclaimed materials or been handed down.
I am fully off the grid and in the process of trying to become self-sufficient.
The water is pumped from a springfed dam and mostly gravity-ed.
It's a little like McDonald's Farm, an array of birds and animals.
There's an orchard, hothouse and a Raspberry patch which may be my favourite spot when they're fruiting.
It really is an amazing lifestyle, peaceful, relaxing and rewarding.
You should come see for yourself 😉

Access height has been raised to 3.7meters. Pine Ridge has been developed over the years to be a natural park land with a good variety of local vegetation including stands of mature trees. lower scrub has been removed for physical and viewing access and to keep the property more secure and manageable. The vegetation also provides significant protection on windy days compared to many other open places. Native animals and birdlife abound the location. There is a community pergola area beside the substantial water hole which has a small jetty allowing easy access for swimming. There is also a stone barbecue and fire pit area available on suitable weather conditions.
There are ocean views from the property's main road areas, which also provide a large area of flatish firm ground with large areas providing easy maneuverability and turning.
The property is 2-3km from the main highway turn off that leads to the Douglas Apsley National Park. The corner of the property is only 50 meters from the park edge, with the Parks main access several km further along Rosedale Rd. The turn off is only 2 km from the town edge. It is sealed road except for the last 100meters and in good condition.

I offer private bush camping beside a small lake on a 103-acre rainforest property. Only one group is allowed at a time, making this an exclusive camping and bushwalking experience. Guests also enjoy private walking-track access into Tasman National Park, including routes toward Tunnel Bay and Shipstern Bluff.
A toilet is available in the owner’s home, and fresh drinking water is provided. Stays are limited to a single group, with a maximum of four people, so the space is entirely yours to explore in peace.
Please note that the driveway is not suitable for large campervans. Two-wheel drive vehicles are generally fine, but care is required. There may also be an opportunity to arrange a short extended stay in exchange for light gardening work, by prior discussion.

Natural Surroundings & Activities:
Leven River Camping borders the Dial Range Nature Recreation Area and a Nature Conservation Reserve. Our sites are set on lush, green, fern-filled river flats within a sometimes misty forested valley, cradled below Mt Duncan and Mt Lorymer. The surrounding area boasts popular hiking and mountain biking trails.
The Leven River itself is a highlight, offering some of the best trout fishing in North West Tasmania. You'll also find perfect spots for kayaking, along with private river beaches where you can relax, paddle, swim, or enjoy a picnic.
Access to the property is via a very scenic 4km, well-maintained gravel road that winds downhill to the base of the valley.

The water is pumped from a springfed dam and mostly gravity-ed.
It's a little like McDonald's Farm, an array of birds and animals.
There's an orchard, hothouse and a Raspberry patch which may be my favourite spot when they're fruiting.
It really is an amazing lifestyle, peaceful, relaxing and rewarding.

Bert met us on arrival and drove down to site . Explained about the area and came back at m to light the fire for the bath . Very private camp and the bath was amazing. Kept heat for a long time . Very peaceful and relaxing stay . Camp area is very grassy and green with natives and listening to the creek to go to sleep was very restful.

This was the most incredible experience, the host Bert was so lovely and great to have a chat with. The hot tub was set up and ready when we arrived, we got to see a platypus swimming around and climbing over rocks it was amazing. Could not recommend staying here enough.

Nice flat area. Water available to fill tanks. Bins on site. Host is friendly. A little noisy as it is on a main road. Value for Money being close to Hobart outways the road noise which isn’t terrible just annoying at times.

Trudi was incredibly welcoming, and we started in her shop with some tastings of her special pepperberry salts and meat/vegie seasonings. (We bought some and have been putting it on everything!) We parked pretty much wherever we wanted, (probably depending on your own vehicle’s capacity). While there were about 10 campers last night, there was plenty of room to have space and privacy. Trudi offers feeding times with the Alpacas and goats, great for kids both small and older. There are the resident two donkeys, the three friendly dogs and the attention seeking black cat. There are also geese and various types of chickens to look at. After dinner we walked around the property, spotted some pademelons in the bush. Quiet and spacious with privacy camp spot. A great stay for families with kids for walks and feeding the animals.
