Forest Lodge Farm – 4WD Access Only - We are 8km up a windy gravel road. Nestled in the stunning high country of Pyengana, just 8km off the Tasman Highway, Forest Lodge Farm offers a peaceful off-grid camping experience surrounded by beautiful Tasmanian scenery. This is a place we truly love, and we're excited to share it with others looking to disconnect and immerse themselves in nature. While the campsite remains quiet and peaceful, forest lodge is also part of a working farm - a place full of life, activity and the simple joys of country living. We use our land for fun as much as work, from horse riding to spending afternoons fishing. We want you to feel a part of our farm and if you see us, please don't hesitate to say Gday! You will spend your days here swimming or trying your luck catching trout in our large dam or explore our picturesque 4.5km walking track that winds around the farm, through sections of ancient myrtle forest, and up to a scenic lookout with beautiful views of the surrounding countryside. Our location is also the perfect base for exploring some of the region's best walks and waterfalls, with Ralph Falls Lookout just 20 minutes away, St Columba Falls 25 minutes away, Mount Victoria (45 minutes), and Mount Albert (37 minutes) all within easy driving distance. Please research these hikes before heading out to ensure they're suitable for your experience level, and check for any trail closures or updates, as we're unable to provide current track conditions. Please note that this is a pack in/pack out campsite, so you'll need to take all rubbish with you when you leave. There are no toilet facilities on site, and there is no mobile phone reception, allowing you to enjoy a true off-grid camping experience. In the event of an emergency, Wi-Fi is available at the main farmhouse.Set on the edge of a freshwater dam and surrounded by bushland, this off‑grid campsite offers a peaceful escape into nature. With no data or reception, it’s the perfect place to switch off and settle into the sounds of wildlife moving through the trees and across the hills. Forest Lodge is embraced by ancient myrtle rainforest, where towering trunks, deep green foliage, and cool shaded understories create a timeless, tranquil sanctuary. The forest wraps gently around the property, adding a sense of seclusion and calm that makes every moment feel grounded and restorative. While the campsite remains quiet and peaceful, Forest Lodge is also part of a working farm — a place full of life, activity, and the simple joys of country living. We use the land for fun as much as for work, from horse riding across open paddocks to spending long afternoons fishing in the dam. We want you to feel a part of our farm and if you see us, please don't hesitate to say Gday! At forest lodge we have a designated walking track that winds through forest and open terrain, offering chances to spot native animals and enjoy the changing views across the farm. The campsite itself is spacious, natural, and quiet, with rocky outcrops, tall grass, and shaded pockets that make it feel like a true bush retreat. IMPORTANT Please be advised that when hiking on our designated track, we ask that you remain on the marked path. The surrounding rainforest is dense, and it is easy to become disoriented if you wander off. We also request that you do not approach any livestock. Our cattle are not domesticated and can be unpredictable, so you must keep distance please. Forest Lodge sits 600 metres above sea level, and as a result we experience slightly cooler temperatures than the valley, along with weather that can change quickly. Please come prepared, as conditions can shift throughout the day, but for the most part its every camper's dream.
