Located opposite a cherry orchard close to supermarkets and food outlets, the property has land for off grid self contained camping and caravans. Unfortunately we do not have toilet facilities on the property. It's within 20 minutes of Hobart, within 2 km of Bonnorong wild life park and 1 km from motor racing circuit. Close to the picturesque town of Richmond a colonial town established in early 1800s. Dog friendly but must be controlled as we have many native animals such as galahs, native hens, ducks, rosella's, echidnas. We grow our own vegetables, have a vast array of fruit trees and variety of berries and free range eggs. Guest's must have their own toilet and shower facilities on board.

The property is partly cleared and partly forested and is situated on, and surrounded by, a bend in the Mersey River in the shadow of Tulumpanga (the Gog Range). Stooge Farm is home to abundant wildlife including wallabies, echidna, wombats and a healthy population of platypus which can often be sighted at dusk along the river. Embrace rest, swimming, canoeing, fishing, barbequeeing, bushwalking, birdwatching in the lost world of Stooge Farm Tasmania Only 20 minutes from the lovely regional town of Deloraine where you can stock up on supplies, enjoy a good coffee and the many amenities and historic streetscapes. As well as camping, it is also available to rent for a variety of purposes; as the ultimate fishing retreat, for wedding, birthday and other significant life events, as a yoga, meditation and lifestyle retreat, or simply the ultimate holiday destination. This is such a special place that you really need to come and experience it for yourself to believe it. We await your visit. *Some important notes before you book: - Campers must have their own toilet and must remove all waste and rubbish. Dogs are welcome but must be leashed at all time. - River water is available but drink at own risk. - We recommend a strong vehicle, and a 4WD when towing caravans as the road in is steep. - This is a quiet peaceful place, and to respect the wildlife and other campers we have a strictly no generators, amplified music or unnecessary noise. **Please note that it's $20 per person per night. Small farm and vineyard at Macquarie Plains in the Upper Derwent Valley, southern Tasmania. The property is 380m from the junction of the Lyell Highway and the Gordon River Road. It has 450m absolute river frontage on the River Derwent (no riparian reserve). The river here is freshwater, potable and a renowned trout water, (licence required). Three kilometres from the village of Gretna. 4WD Preferred. 2WD need to assess river access. Campers need all own amenities and leave no trace. Dog friendly but please see rules, we have livestock and so dogs need to be well controlled at all times. Campfires permitted when restrictions aren't in place (see rules around campfires). Due to hydro generation activity, the river may slowly rise or fall up to 1m (often without rain) so please be careful around the water.

Great location to use as a base to explore Hobart and the area. You are literally on a small paddock alongside a fairly busy road with mostly grass and well maintained. The road traffic did ease off after 9pm but by 6.30am the trucks are back up and down the road. It’s a well used road. Fully fenced area so both kids and dogs are safe. Large trampoline for the kids and fire pits. Rob is a super host and very welcoming. Thanks for having us.

This place is a must when passing through the area or exploring Mt Field national park and Gorden dam. Derek is a tremendous host , full of information on the area and Tasmania in general. We had as much free fire wood as we wanted, water available and a beautiful grassed area over looking the Derwent river. If you like wine, grab a bottle or two of Derek’s reds he makes on the property, and for a hot tip ask him to give you a tour of his vineyard. Thank you Derek for a wonderful 5 night stay. Hopefully we will be back in a few weeks.

This is our second time camping at Derek's farm and his gem is now our favourite spot in Tassie. Derek is one of the nicest hosts ever. He has so much knowledge of the area. We had such an amazing time at Ryelands again. Derek is such a wonderful host bringing carrots for our girls to feed his horses while also giving them both a little keepsake of a Spotted Quoll. This spot is beautiful and pure bliss with ample space for a group of just to enjoy on your own right by the riverside. Plus the wine Derek makes is fabulous! We will be back again
