Lovely campsite, separated into 5 sections. paddock 1 is an individual site, paddock 2 has 3 sites (closest to the kids playground), paddock 3 is next to the river, paddock 4-5 is next to the river and floating pontoon + communal fireplace. Fire pits provided for each site. Extremely spacious and well cared for. No facilities so need to be fully self contained. Fairy lights scattered around the place for some added ambiance. Aaron was lovely. Really pleasant stay, thanks!

1 night at Cradle Mountain Fishery and Camping

I arrived after dark and was greeted by the host, who was lovely and so helpful with all directions on where to camp and a little about the site. Camping in off-season meant there was a few spots available and I was able to get a beautiful spot adjacent to the lake, which was absolutely stunning to wake up to. The facilities were clean and easy to get to, and the location was about 15mins from the Cradle Mountain tourist hub. There wasn’t any reception bars with Optus however I did forget to ask if there was any wifi, but it was also great to disconnect for the evening and just sit under the amazing view of the stars. Definitely would camp again!!

Lovely spot to camp beside the dam filled with fish. Spotted a couple of eagles, fairy wrens and plenty of water hens. There’s even a platypus in the dam.

My husband and I stayed one night here and we loved Big Hole Bend! We found it cosy and comfortable with a roof top tent and 270° awning set up. Richard’s instructions to get to the spot were detailed and easy to follow! We were the only ones in the campsite area, seeing plenty of platypus and listening to the river streams. Rivers Edge

Rivers Edge is 24 acres of forest on the banks of the Leven River in Gunns Plains, Tasmania. We are in our own little valley surrounded by tall forests. Preston Creek flows all year through our property and meets the large Leven River where your campsite is situated. Perfect for trout fishing, platypus watching, bird watching or catching the sun setting through the trees on the river bend. There are even the endangered black fresh water crayfish. The site is large enough for up to 5-6 caravans for large bookings, and we only take one booking at a time, so its exclusively yours. We are only 20km to the nearest town, Ulverstone which as everything you need. The road is close by the campsite with easy access to find the property. No toilet facilities at the site. Sat TV is good and limited mobile reception. Telstra works best we've found. River access over a rocky, uneven embankment as it's a natural, untouched environment, just how we and the native animals like it. Campfires ONLY PERMITTED when fire restrictions aren't in place. You absolutely must make sure your campfire is fully extinguished before you leave. Please check "My Trips" (in your profile) for directions once confirmed. Look for the 'Rivers Edge' sign on the entrance gate, then you know youve got the right site and not the neigbours property (which is along side mine on the river) Well behaved dogs are welcome but must be kept with you at all times, no roaming dogs as the road is close by. We love the peace and serenity here so please no unruly behaviour or parties.

Leven River Camping On Wattle Farm

Camping is located in an idyllic spot beside the Leven River, on a 100-acre natural forested property. The property fringes the Dial Range nature recreation area and a nature conservation reserve. Camping is on river flats within a lush, green, ferny, and sometimes misty forested valley below Mt Duncan and Mt Lorymer. Very nearby, there are popular hiking and mountain biking trails. Adjacent to the camping area, the Leven River offers some of the best trout fishing in North West Tasmania. There are places to kayak, along with private river beaches where you can sit and relax, enjoy a paddle, swim, or have a picnic. Camping on the river flats allows tents and campervans to settle into grassy clearings amongst the Wattles on the left side of the road. Larger vans can set up on a larger cleared grassy area on the right side of the road. Both areas are just before the bridge. There is plenty of open space to throw a frisbee or play a game of cricket. The property is accessed from a very scenic 4 km well maintained gravel road that winds downhill to the base of the the valley. ***Please note there are no facilities. La Bena Tarkine Sanctuary

Our 34-acre property is nestled on the edge of the ancient Tarkine rainforest on the north west coast of Tasmania (approx 1 hour 15 min west of Devonport and the Spirit of Tasmania). At La Bena, you will find a relaxing and quiet place to park and camp, that will give you easy access to our wild surroundings. On the property, we have a short but enchanting bush walk to our local creek (great place for a picnic!) that will take you past some giant man ferns, myrtles, celery top pines, pepper berries, and an assortment of gums and native currents. From 4WD tracks to pristine beaches, we are within a 30-minute drive of a huge range of activities and adventures so numerous options for day trips on your doorstep. Famous Boat Harbour Beach is only a short 15-minute drive away and just beyond that is Sisters Beach which has some great coves and hikes (Anniversary Bay) into Rocky Cape National Park that will take you along the coast to further secluded beaches and some sacred Aboriginal sites. If you head inland from La Bena you will enter the Tarkine Rainforest and travel along some great 4WD tracks that will take you to the Dip River Forest Reserve which has the big tree and Dip Falls - you can then head to Stanley for a meal at Hursey's Seafood and then loop back around to camp (a great day out). The camping area caters to self-contained campers only, so please ensure you have a camp toilet with you, and can take all waste when you go. Please leave no trace.
