Famous Boat Harbour Beach is only a short 15-minute drive away and just beyond that is Sisters Beach which has some great coves and hikes (Anniversary Bay) into Rocky Cape National Park that will take you along the coast to further secluded beaches and some sacred Aboriginal sites.
If you head inland from La Bena you will enter the Tarkine Rainforest and travel along some great 4WD tracks that will take you to the Dip River Forest Reserve which has the big tree and Dip Falls - you can then head to Stanley for a meal at Hursey's Seafood and then loop back around to camp (a great day out).
The camping area caters to self-contained campers only, so please ensure you have a camp toilet with you, and can take all waste when you go. Please leave no trace.

When you book, you'll secure a site within one of our designated camping areas, with the freedom to choose your exact setup spot upon arrival. We offer two main areas: "The Big Paddock" (left of the road) and "The Little Paddock" (right of the road).
The Big Paddock is ideally suited for smaller campervans, tents, swags, off-road caravans, and camper trailers. Here, you can set up anywhere within its bounds; pitching your tent among the trees or along the river is perfect for a truly immersive experience. An approximately 3-acre clearing is also available by the river.
For easier access directly from the road, The Little Paddock is an excellent choice. While suitable for smaller vehicles, it's also ideal for larger caravans. This area offers approximately 5 acres of clearing right beside the river. Both paddocks are conveniently located just before the bridge and provide ample open space for outdoor activities like frisbee or cricket.
Natural Surroundings & Activities:
Leven River Camping borders the Dial Range Nature Recreation Area and a Nature Conservation Reserve. Our sites are set on lush, green, fern-filled river flats within a sometimes misty forested valley, cradled below Mt Duncan and Mt Lorymer. The surrounding area boasts popular hiking and mountain biking trails.
The Leven River itself is a highlight, offering some of the best trout fishing in North West Tasmania. You'll also find perfect spots for kayaking, along with private river beaches where you can relax, paddle, swim, or enjoy a picnic.
Access to the property is via a very scenic 4km, well-maintained gravel road that winds downhill to the base of the valley.
Important Information
No facilities are provided on-site. Guests must bring their own camping toilet (a dumping point is available in Knights Rd, West Ulverstone) and are responsible for all rubbish removal.

Rivers Edge is 24 acres of forest on the banks of the Leven River in Gunns Plains, Tasmania. We are in our own little valley surrounded by tall forests. Preston Creek flows all year through our property and meets the large Leven River where your campsite is situated. Perfect for trout fishing, platypus watching, bird watching or catching the sun setting through the trees on the river bend. There are even the endangered black fresh water crayfish.
The site is large enough for up to 5-6 caravans for large bookings, and we only take one booking at a time, so its exclusively yours.
We are only 20km to the nearest town, Ulverstone which as everything you need.
The road is close by the campsite with easy access to find the property. No toilet facilities at the site. Sat TV is good and limited mobile reception. Telstra works best we've found.
River access over a rocky, uneven embankment as it's a natural, untouched environment, just how we and the native animals like it.
Campfires ONLY PERMITTED when fire restrictions aren't in place. You absolutely must make sure your campfire is fully extinguished before you leave.

Railton boasts the delightful Goliath Park, with multiple recreational activities available including tennis and pickleball courts, a pump track, skate park, covered barbeque and picnic area and playground. If you head inland from La Bena you will enter the Tarkine Rainforest and travel along some great 4WD tracks that will take you to the Dip River Forest Reserve which has the big tree and Dip Falls - you can then head to Stanley for a meal at Hursey's Seafood and then loop back around to camp (a great day out).
The camping area caters to self-contained campers only, so please ensure you have a camp toilet with you, and can take all waste when you go. Please leave no trace.

The Big Paddock is ideally suited for smaller campervans, tents, swags, off-road caravans, and camper trailers. Here, you can set up anywhere within its bounds; pitching your tent among the trees or along the river is perfect for a truly immersive experience. An approximately 3-acre clearing is also available by the river.
For easier access directly from the road, The Little Paddock is an excellent choice. While suitable for smaller vehicles, it's also ideal for larger caravans. This area offers approximately 5 acres of clearing right beside the river. Both paddocks are conveniently located just before the bridge and provide ample open space for outdoor activities like frisbee or cricket.
Natural Surroundings & Activities:
Leven River Camping borders the Dial Range Nature Recreation Area and a Nature Conservation Reserve. Our sites are set on lush, green, fern-filled river flats within a sometimes misty forested valley, cradled below Mt Duncan and Mt Lorymer. The surrounding area boasts popular hiking and mountain biking trails.
The Leven River itself is a highlight, offering some of the best trout fishing in North West Tasmania. You'll also find perfect spots for kayaking, along with private river beaches where you can relax, paddle, swim, or enjoy a picnic.
Access to the property is via a very scenic 4km, well-maintained gravel road that winds downhill to the base of the valley.
Important Information
No facilities are provided on-site. Guests must bring their own camping toilet (a dumping point is available in Knights Rd, West Ulverstone) and are responsible for all rubbish removal.

Rivers Edge is 24 acres of forest on the banks of the Leven River in Gunns Plains, Tasmania. We are in our own little valley surrounded by tall forests. Preston Creek flows all year through our property and meets the large Leven River where your campsite is situated. Perfect for trout fishing, platypus watching, bird watching or catching the sun setting through the trees on the river bend. There are even the endangered black fresh water crayfish.
The site is large enough for up to 5-6 caravans for large bookings, and we only take one booking at a time, so its exclusively yours.
We are only 20km to the nearest town, Ulverstone which as everything you need.
The road is close by the campsite with easy access to find the property. No toilet facilities at the site. Sat TV is good and limited mobile reception. Telstra works best we've found.
River access over a rocky, uneven embankment as it's a natural, untouched environment, just how we and the native animals like it.
Campfires ONLY PERMITTED when fire restrictions aren't in place. You absolutely must make sure your campfire is fully extinguished before you leave.

You'll find many opportunities for hiking, with trails suitable for all ages and abilities. The closest dump point is a 9-minute drive to the “Town of Topiary” Railton, where you will find a charming coffee shop, a hotel, post office, a petrol station with a convenience store, a mechanic and a takeaway shop.
Railton boasts the delightful Goliath Park, with multiple recreational activities available including tennis and pickleball courts, a pump track, skate park, covered barbeque and picnic area and playground. It’s also where you’ll find a trail head for the World Class Wild Mersey Mountain Bike Network. Every Saturday morning, an idyllic bush setting hosts the Railton Park Run.
Ten minutes up the road you’ll find Sheffield, the Town of Murals and further south, Cradle Mountain.

Campsites are alongside Franklin Rivulet- a picturesque tidal estuary in northern TAS. At Farm on Franklin you can enjoy fishing, kayaking, bushwalking, bird watching, oystering (please cook them), and wildlife spotting.
We are 15mins to Port Sorell, Bakers Beach, Narawntapu National Park, and House of Anvers Chocolate Factory. 25mins to Devonport, 1hr to Launceston, 1.5hrs to Cradle Mt and surrounded by attractions from Berry Farms to Wineries and stunning farmland.
This is a beautiful natural campsite on land near our home. You'll need to have your own power, toilet/shower and leave no trace.
We've had 18 months off, but we're back and hope to see you soon!

Traill's Corner is a 6 acre property situated on the Mersey River.
The camping area is a large open field with a short walk to the river access, and warm springs. It's great for swimming for small children to paddle in, deeper for swimming and kayaking.
We are located 20 minutes from Deloraine and Latrobe and not even an hr away from Launceston.
We are a great base to head off during the day and explore what is on offering our wonderful part of the world. rock climbing, hiking, mountain biking, fishing, there are lots of little towns around with gorgeous shops to visit, such as the Meander valley, Cradle Mountain, the Great Lakes and so, much more.
The river has world renowned trout fishing. Beautiful wildlife around, close to the forest
Our space is improving all the time as we tend te grounds & build on what's here, enjoy our gorgeous outdoor spa which is filled with the natural water from the warm springs up the road at the Kimberley warm springs that flows through the property,

Campsite 4 at Ladybug Camping was absolutely beautiful. Private, peaceful, creek side site was perfect for our caravan. Walking around looking at the waterfalls was lovely. The host Peter was very friendly and easy to chat to. Wish we had booked more time. Thank you for sharing your piece of paradise.

We had this place bookmarked for a while, and finally got some time and what a wonderful set up, we booked the larger site thinking it would be easier with a van but it was very spacious and no issues getting in or out. It was very relaxing to have a drink next to both waterfalls,
We checked out the tent areas and they are amazing! I’d nearly ditch the van and come back with a tent! We arrived late so Peter came down the next morning and explained everything to us and gave directions to the falls!
It was just the weekend that was needed no phone reception and able to fill the cup back up! Wonderful hosts wonderful camp area and we will be back!

We stayed on campsite 4, great spot near the river. We had a 13 m set up car and Van managed to turn it around and park it down near the river. Peter came along introduced himself and then was kind enough to show us around his property to all the waterfalls and inform us that they had large freshwater crayfish which that afternoon we spotted. One must’ve been a foot in size it was massive really cool. Just a few tips. I’d probably engage low range drive if you’ve got a big rig coming down and EG the same on the way out, all in all great spot great host. Highly recommend.

This is my second stay here , I was shocked to have the place to myself.
Such a tranquil quiet camp backing onto to the river.
Watched the platypus play for hours in the evening .

Pleasant and quiet spot near the beautiful bushland above Penguin. We hiked and rode our bikes and generally relaxed. Great views (when the weather is clear) and lots of power and water. Toilets but no showers. Big shout out to Remy the dog, who is very cheeky and loved to snooze outside our awning (and inside when she could sneak in).

Stayed at campsite 4. Met Peter, who was very friendly and informative. During the past 50 plus years I have camped in all states and territories in Australia, and this is my favourite. Extremely spacious and private. A wonderful all weather gravel track. Wonderful listening to the cascading water flowing over the rocks in front of us. A lot of effort has been put into placing hundreds of little painted ladybugs on trees, table and rocks around the campgrounds here. We were able to check out campsite six, as it was vacant, and it’s equally beautiful. Had five very tame pademelons visit us regularly. We also had wood provided for a campfire. The hammock was a treat. The vegetation surrounding our camp was beautiful.The location is also central to so many tourist towns and attractions. You will not be disappointed if you stay here.
