The Scrub Campsite located in remnant vegetation (14 minutes from Victor Harbor ) is a rustic self check in campsite as the owners do not reside near the campsite.
Campers choose their site in the designated camp spots. Sites are not allocated unless by prior arrangement.
Persons under 18, youth groups, school groups or scout groups etc. are not permitted to book at the campsite.
A communal camp kitchen, water tanks and compost toilet is available for campers use. You can connect your gas bottle to a Kick Ass hot water shower. Fire pits are located at each site. Campers will be advised of fire bans by signage on the front gate. Campers are not permitted on high fire danger days.
Wood can be purchased from the self service white ibc container for $15 for 20kgs.
Please adhere to the camp rules which are posted at each campsite.
The campsite is located on the Heysen Trail and close to many Lower Fleurieu Peninsula beaches and attractions. The popular Belicious Cafe is a 45 minute walk.
Whole campsite bookings can be made by contacting the owners.
We ask that campers respect all other campers, the land that they are camping on and follow the campers motto - Leave nothing but your footprints.

We are located walking distance from lake alexandrina, we’re there are plenty of activities to do such as fishing, boating, and more. This site is a 4 minute walk from the main house and is completely private. The property has its own private road so plenty of room for kids to ride their bikes, we have horses and cows that guests are welcome to feed over the fence. Our property is located in the town of Fountain, 24kms from Port Lincoln. We are a hobby farm that is set amongst the gum trees and have large spacious sites for you to relax and enjoy. On a clear night, the stars are amazing.
We are only a 15 minutes drive from Coffin Bay and its fresh seafood, stunning beaches, fishing and water activities. There are National Parks within easy reach where you can enjoy 4Wdriving, hiking and swimming.
Guests are welcome to bring their horses with them for the duration of their stay. Please contact the host beforehand if you would like to bring your horse so we can prepare. We have great horse facilities, including a large sand arena, round yard, yards and places to ride, including a beautiful beach not far from here.

Welcome to Marron Bush Escape, located in Gosse, in the Western River area (western end, near Flinders Chase National Park) of beautiful Kangaroo Island!
This is a beautiful, remote, rural 250 acre private property, it is home to a number of sheep, features dams that have Marron and boasts the best that nature has to offer. Rest assured, you will not see any neighbours on this property; just picturesque landscapes everywhere you look! It is approximately a 1.5 hour drive from Penneshaw, where you get off the ferry.
We offer powered and unpowered camp sites, as well as a bush, cabin.
Camp fires (small) are allowed when fire restrictions allow. There is a fire pit that can be used when there is no fire ban, with barbecue plate and camp ovens for old-style bush cooking or cooking up your fresh organic Kangaroo Island Marron.
There is a drop toilet at the back and external lights and an external kitchen sink with hot and cold water.
There is one drop dunny and limited rain water (you are welcome to bring your own drinking water if you need extra).
For your convenience, there are recycling and rubbish bins at corner of Snug and Colman’s Rd for all waste disposal.
On half of our property we have sheep and lambs in the paddocks. Bring your camera, and you just might be lucky enough to see little lambs playing and even being born. We may also be shearing and invite you to see how this is done. The other half of the property is untouched natural scrub with grass and trees 12 foot tall. There are koalas, eagles, kangaroos, wallabies, echidnas and lots of other native animals and a creek with small waterfalls. In winter time the ground can be boggy, so a 4WD is desirable and will allow you to explore further.
From the cabin, make your way down past the dams and go through the shiny gate at the bottom of the hill (please close the gate behind you). Here, you'll discover 125 acres of untouched Kangaroo Island wilderness with walking trails to explore. Keep an eye out for koalas, kangaroos, wedge-tail eagles, wallabies, large grass trees etc
We also have two small lakes that you can have a picnic by or drop some Marron nets in for a fresh feed. There are weighing scales provided at the shed so you can pay for them. This is on an honesty system- so please do the right thing, as we have already been burnt from the fires. You must contact me if you wish to fish for marron prior to catching any.
There are no shops or restaurants close by (stock up before arriving!) and you will need to travel down dirt roads but you will really have the opportunity to get off the grid, get back to nature and make memories in the stunning, untouched, Kangaroo Island wilderness!

Loved camping at the scenic sites. The view is amazing and site is very well maintained. It can be a bit noisy in the tent as it is beside the highway but other than that we enjoyed it.

Unfortunately only got to stay for one night and wish we had more time here, such a cool, free / untouched space where you feel so far away from the hustle n bustle.
So quiet and peaceful, would go back tomorrow.

I really enjoyed camping at The Scrub Campsite. The communication with the owner was clear, so it was easy to find and the is good signage as well.
We had a tent and, although we only spent one night there, we had a great time.
I loved that we could pick out our own site. There are some closer to the communal kitchen area, and others further, tucked away. They are all tidy with trees and bushes and a clearing for the tent and the car to park.
There is a firepit, table and chairs with every site.
We took our own wood (you can also buy some there), had a nice fire going and did some campfire cooking.
There is a lot to do for the kids as well if you go with the family.
Waking up to the birds and sunshine was awesome.
Definitely would go back and recommend it to others.

Site 6 is a little more private. You can hire fire pit $10 and crate of Wood $15. The portaloos were not in use, so it was a proper toilet/shower block. Can walk to coast along the river track.

Loved our stay at Nat and Stu's, would highly recommended. Great peaceful spot, close to Vivonne Bay and surrounds. Having the shelter and the toilet was super handy, could have easily stayed another night if time permitted. Host was super responsive and answered all our questions no worries.

Great spot. Good locale to towns. Well sign posted to find camping area. Being able to hire kayaks from our camping location was fabulous. To be able to come and go on the river was especially great with young kids. The toilet is a handy addition very clean.

Lovely camp ground. Lots of wildlife. We saw an echidna, lots of blue fairy wrens, a possum and lots of birds. We stayed at Dam site 1 which was fairly big. A little close to neighbours but not too bad. Marc and Alison have lots of facilities for campers but it is rustic. We had an enjoyable and relaxing stay.

Such a beautiful spot! Views are absolutely stunning! Could see so many stars at night. Toilets are a short walk - and they are nice and clean. Was lovely and quiet and so nice to feel like you have your own space. Would stay again!

We had a fantastic time at this campsite! The site was incredibly spacious and kept very clean, which made it the perfect setup for our group. Honestly, having flushable toilets was such a treat and made the whole experience much more comfortable for everyone.
It was also a very secure environment for the kids to play freely, which gave us great peace of mind. Kylie was excellent with communication before the stay, making everything seamless. We’d definitely stay here again!
