Our site 7 was a little too exposed to the wind, damp soft site (4x4) and needed full ramps to get close enough to level on the rears. There seem to be two sets of rules one for RVs to be quiet and another for the kids in accommodation above to late hours of the night.

We only had a very short one night stay but thoroughly enjoyed the peaceful surroundings and great views. I would definitely recommend this location.

Love the fenced camping area

I love the fenced area for my dog, so he can roam free and I don’t have to worry about him. I feel he gets a holiday too and gets to enjoy the surroundings just like me. I have been numerous times now and will still be going back for more. Love the position with the gorgeous views and the minimal sites. The Cooinda Retreats is well looked after and a pleasure to visit.

The camping area has varying size sites. Views to the sea from most sites and all well grassed. 2 larger fenced off sites with power, so your pet can roam freely within the sites. Fires allowed in the fire season. Very quiet at night due to Cooindas position in the hills. Highly recommend.

Tranquility base.

Cooinda has lush grass and well kept native plant beds making it a beautiful place to get relaxed. Well planned spaces and easily identified pitches/sites with good placement of signs. Facilities (wash/shower rooms, toilets, camp kitchen, porta loo dump point) were all very well laid out, clean and modern. We were able to enjoy a camp fire, Cooinda retreat had fire wood available to purchase and even hire of fire pits offered at a very reasonable cost. Site 2a was flat with a very slight incline, double gated enclosed/ fenced area where our large dogs were able to have some freedom to relax. Bec and Adam were fantastic hosts, very helpful and friendly. Thanks to Bec for providing us with information about where we could walk our dogs to the creek, we enjoyed a 5.5km walk which was wonderful. Beautiful ocean views right from our site. Night sky viewing was amazing, Cooinda has perfect lighting that doesn’t pollute the sky at night however is also affective for navigating on site facilities in the dark. Very peaceful, we had the best sleep. Electric and water hook ups were well placed. Very friendly welcome, instantly made to feel at home. We enjoyed our mini break very much and will most definitely return.

Loved our camping experience. Simple and easy. Adam came down for a yarn and was helpful with checking our satisfaction. We are aiming to rebook in the next week to try and catch some nicer weather. Camp sites available for pets as well.

Great facilities and nice view

Great facilities in the camp kitchen and in general. Lovely little place to sit. Nice, Clean toilets and showers. I was there on a Sunday night so only 1 other campers with their dog in their enclosed Area. View was great looking over victor harbour. I usually prefer a bush camp type situation but this was all that was available and it was great!

The campsite we had was very well looked after. The grass was lush and green and the view for the sunrise and sunset were just divine. The camp kitchen was well equipped and kept very clean. The on site bathrooms were stayed sparkling clean throughout our stay.

Beautiful views and setting. Staying warm around the wonderful fire pit and chatting in our camping group was a highlight. Friendly volunteer care takers made everyone feel welcome.

We absolutely enjoyed our stay at Cooinda Retreat! We booked a pet enclosure site so we could relax with our 1 year old pup 🐶 who has never been camping before. We were in a tent and could park our vehicle inside the enclosure which was really handy. We had no idea what to expect, but we were not disappointed! The grounds were lovely, amenities were modern and clean and the camp kitchen was very handy when the weather was sketchy. We purposely chose a quiet time to camp, so the campgrounds were fairly empty, we loved it 😁 The hosts came and introduced themselves and were very welcoming! We hired a fire pit and they had wood to purchase which was great 😊 There is plenty to do as it’s not far from the main area of Victor Harbor, but far enough that you feel like you are in your own little world. There are plenty of walking trails accessible not far from the campsite as well 🌳 🦅 🏖️ ⛺️ We have already recommended Cooinda to friends and we would stay again 🥰

This is a great site if you do not need to have power. Very large. Easy to access with well kept lawns and magnificent views of Granite Island and the native bushland in the foreground. Camp kitchen and toilets / showers are excellent. Bonus is having portable water and a Dump point.

We had a wonderful stay at Cooinda! We stayed in July and basically had the place to ourselves. Our site (2B) had amazing views of the water and the sites have nice green grass! $10 hire fee for a fire pit and $15 for firewood, was lovely to sit by the fire on the chilly evenings. Cooinda is set up to be self contained and self managed which we really liked, but if you need anything from the owners/caretakers they are very quick to respond to messages via HipCamp! Would highly recommended for a stay in Victor.

Site 5 - Power, Pet Enclosure

We went tent 🏕 camping at site 7, quite nice views being able to just see the ocean line and lots of scrub land infront of us. The area was relatively clean/well maintained. We were able to park our car close by and set up easily. Hot Shower/flushing toilet was well maintained! Didnt cook in the kitchen but quite large and had toaster/microwave/kettle/fridge/BBQ, some hot plates and some spare cleaning products. Easy directions to follow to the site. They have rental firepits ($10) and crate of firewood ($15). Keep in mind before you come to prepare and pack for cold nights it gets very cold at night (3-4°) !

We loved camping at cooinda! The enclosed site was perfect for our two pups and meant we could pull up our caravan and let the dogs enjoy the great outdoors without bothering other people! Beautiful spot. Nice bit of view and quiet location. We'll come back for sure!
