We live in a beautiful valley on 30 acres, that not many people know about. We're joined by 3 friendly dogs, 4 horses, 2 alpacas, 2 lovely Camels, Galloway cows and chooks, along with the resident wildlife including many birds, kangaroos, koalas, shy owls, and even an echidna! All this, plus beautiful views from atop our hills, right to the lake, and the delightful winter creek complete with frogs. We are close to the McLaren Vale wine region as well as wineries throughout the Hills and 35 minutes to the coast of Victor Harbor. The Greenman Inn is 5 minutes down the road and has wonderful food from Wed to Sun if you do not feel the urge to cook with wood fires for the cold nights or a gorgeous outdoor area for the warmer months. At present, we offer two areas for camping. Topspot which has lovely views and is quite secluded amongst the tree tops. This site is suitable for tents and camper trailers (need reasonable backing skills and 4WD) The Laneway which is close to the babbling creek is suitable for those with a small caravan, or motorhome, 2WD etc, along with tent campers. (but would struggle with large caravans/motorhomes - please check with hosts) (The Lookout/Highview has spectacular views Please note this site is currently closed due to stock rotation.) If you have any doubts about which to book, please ask. AUTUMN/WINTER MONTHS: if we receive considerable rain the trek up to the hill sites could become slippery and not accessible as it is a farm paddock, therefore unfortunately your booking may need to be cancelled. NOTE: On our farm there is limited phone coverage in the valley (The Laneway). Pets are welcome, however, please ensure they are kept under control (unless discussed with the host) at all times. Please note: This is an active small farm, therefore work may need be continued throughout your stay possibly necessitating the use of machinery and tending to our livestock. If you wish to see some of the animals up close, please let us know and we will try to accommodate. We ask that all fires be contained within the fire pit provided and a portable toilet is available for your use. BUSHFIRE SEASON: Wood and open fires are not permitted in the bushfire season, therefore you will not be able to use the fire pits.

The Laneway
Sam and Chris were super laid back and friendly hosts who graciously showed us around their farm feeding their beautiful animals. The camels being standout characters :D My boy was overjoyed with the experience and Chris was super patient and keen to involve him at every opportunity. The campsite was beautiful and quiet overlooking the Horses and Alpacas. Sam was extra flexible with some last minute booking changes and left us a hamper of cookies, eggs and chocolates! Just a cracker of a place to camp! Thanks so much!

The hosts were really lovely and so kind with a beautiful hand made biscuits and delicious farm eggs. We did not stay for long as we were just passing through but we enjoyed watching the animals and the bird life and walking in the country.

Beautiful spot, lovely hosts

Topspot
Sam and partner were so welcoming to my partner and I when we arrived last minute on a public holiday weekend. The topspot is beautiful but do read guidelines beforehand - you need a 4WD to get to it and be aware of strong winds that could impact your tent etc. All is outlined and communicated clearly beforehand. They were so welcoming, and helpful and even took time to show us the Topspot before we chose to sleep there. Thoroughly enjoyed meeting the animals in the morning too! We only needed a stopover spot for the evening - but would love to return when we have more time and weather is a bit nicer :)

Top spot at Narloo farm was a fantastic place to spend a night. Sam was a great and welcoming host. He came up and got us involved with feeding some of the many animals on his property. The camels (Jordan & Jemima) were definitely a highlight. The only regret I have is not spending another night.

Sam went out of her way to make our experience amazing. Feeding the animals each day was a highlight especially feeding and brushing the camels. We were sad to pack up and leave. We can’t wait to visit again.
