It is located just 15kms north of Toowoomba. Our property is part of the Highfields Pioneer Village* complex located just 20 minutes from Toowoomba. This campsite is a wonderful place to rest whilst taking in the scenic surroundings of the village which is the home of the Big Cow. Visit the Toowoomba Fire Brigade Museum which houses an historic collection of memorabilia, documenting the story of the people who have worked every day to keep us safe from fires since 1877. The collection includes Uniforms, Badges & patches, historical records & photographs and over 6 Historic Fire Engine Vehicles, Apparatus, Models & Collectibles. Visit the iconic Ambulance Museum that tells the story of Ambulance services in Queensland. We are within easy reach of Highland Falls which has some great walking tracks and view points of the falls. Pets are also permitted in this bushland area but must be on a leash. We are just 3 mins from local shops, McDonald's, KFC. This is the perfect spot for those who want to wind down and escape the hustle and bustle. We have amenities available and pets are welcome but must be kept on a leash at all times. Sorry, no campfires. Bush Camping. The Cafe onsite is now open on Friday, Saturday and Sundays. *Tickets to the Village are optional and can be purchased onsite from the Kiosk. Recommended time to view the Pioneer Village is at least 2 hours. The Pioneer Village complex is open from 10am to 4pm Daily. Glossary of Terms: Potable Water: means drinking water in a jug, bucket or other pot, it does not mean water hook up. We are Bush Camping we do not provide water hook up, sorry. I have access to the rail trail via private property, or otherwise you can utilise Staines Road to get into Benarkin State Forestry or the Brisbane Valley Rail Trail. Dogs are also welcome who are well behaved and on a leash if others have horses with them. Please note that you MUST ensure your dog has tick prevention prior to arrival. Bookings require pre approval please. This is non negotiable to prepare for your stay. All welcome to visit and please enjoy a campsite that will only ever have 2 bookings at a time in the 1 acre camping area.
