Our property is located on the site of the First Kilkivan Township and was home to a gold rush in 1868 where a 73 oz nugget was discovered.
Guests will have access to a portable toilet and fire pit throughout their stay.
Gold is still found in and around the creek with fossicking permitted at an extra daily rate of $25 per person. As this is private property we require that all the QLD Fossicking Act rules and regulations are followed this includes having your own permit which must be supplied before fossicking is permitted. These rules include no machinery or pump operated sluices such as high banking sluices.
Detectors are welcome and some great finds have been found with them including gold and coins from the 1860’s.
Large groups are welcome.
There are many great shaded camping spots along the creek or a large open area of about 50 acres for larger groups. There is also a year round swimming hole fed by a solar bore on the property for anyone wanting to cool down.
Kids under 12 are free but if fossicking must be covered by a permit. Pets are welcome.

The Cooke Family welcomes you to “Hopevale”. A beautiful 113 acre property bordered by Wrattens National Park at the edge of the world in the peaceful Widgee district of greater Gympie. Jason, a landscaper by trade, and Jacinta a teacher by profession, met many years ago at a national Christian youth conference. Four beautiful children later and many years down the track, they bought Hopevale as a blank cattle fattening property in 2018. After much hard work, they have made it what it is today, with plans to continually improve.
We have different camp options available, one of which is set up for those guests also wanting to stay with horses or just have a larger group booking.
Guests will have access to a toilet and shower throughout their stay which is within walking distance from each of the campsites. Campfires and pets are welcome.
The property has only had 4 farming owners in its 110 odd years since it was first surveyed and selected in 1915. The Hillcoats, Bishops, Cotters, and now the Cooke’s. The families over the years have used the property for timber getting, dairy, beef and small cropping.
The property is geologically rich with volcanic soils, sandstone escarpments full of caves and overhangs. The mighty Wrattens Falls sits to the back of the property in the National Park and is a sight to behold in full flow. It feeds the head waters of the western branch of Widgee Creek which meanders through the property.
The subtropical dry rainforest clad mountains are dominated by the majestic
Bunya and Hoop pines and are a testament to what once was covering the entire property before being cleared for farming. Remnant riparian creek lines are botanically rich and diverse holding Red and White Cedar, Teak, Silky oak and many other coveted timber trees harvested back in the day.
There are many species of animals and birds that call Hopevale home. From water dragons, frogs and fish in the creeks, monitors, wallabies, deer, koalas, possums and phascogales in the eucalypts. Red-back wrens, pardalotes, rainbow bee-eaters, finches and quail call the open grasses home while whip birds give their iconic call in the forest. Above, birds of prey ride the thermals of the valley looking for their next meal.

We are 10km north of the town of Crows Nest on the Great Dividing Range. 50 minutes from Toowoomba and 2 hours from Brisbane.
The hill on the property (Flat Top) is one of the highest points in the area at 700m altitude.
From the hilltop, you can enjoy 360-degree views of the surrounding area, with views across the Esk Valley towards the Sunshine Coast and sunsets over the hills surrounding Crows Nest.
There are 3 separate campsites on the hilltop, and another site further down the hill alongside the main driveway.
It is very quiet and peaceful, yet only a 10-minute drive to Crows Nest.

There's 1,375 acres of land - the boundaries of our property are the ridges of the mountains that encircle us, and many rare species abound here.
This is a dog and horse friendly property but no pets allowed in the cabin. There is paralysis tick in this region - so we'd recommend treating any animal before you come and frequent checks while you're here.

We are only 45 minutes to Noosa, 20 minutes to the Amamoor Country Music Muster, only 1 km to Mitchell Creek Rock and Blues Festival, 15 minutes to Borumba Dam.
We own a working Dairy Farm, the next property on from the camping site. Opposite the camping grounds we plant summer feed (White Sorghum Silage) and Winter feed (Oats or Barley).

We have 69 acres within the Barambah Wine Trail (which is located in Moffatdale, near Murgon, QLD). Our property backs onto the Bjelke Petersen Dam.
Our property offers direct access to Lake Barambah from your large grassy campsite. You can enjoy uninterrupted views of the lake while relaxing around your camp fire.
The lake itself is wide and deep, and safe for swimming (properly supervised) and all your favourite water activities.
There is also basic access to launch small boats.
Dusty Hill Wines is just down the road and offers local wine tasting and some great meals in their restaurant. There are also some other wineries in the area you can explore and enjoy.
If you want to get your heart rate up, we are 25 minutes from Kinombi Falls where you can enjoy a number of stairs to get to the top. The waterfall is often quite small but the surrounding area is beautiful and the stairs are a good workout.
You will need to be fully self contained as we have no showers or toilets available. Campers will need to take all waste with them on departure.

This farm has been used as a working farm for around 40 years. This area is where the government planned a dam so generally we have water in the creeks. Most of the camp sites border the creek and all are designed to take caravans.
The house was the original Amamoor Head Ranger, Forestry division, home which was cut in two and relocated from town
up to the top of our hill. From here during the bush fire season you can see fires from Widgee, Kilcoy or the Sunshine Coast. We run on solar and rain water for everything in the house and creek or dam water for our orchards and gardens.
We run a variety of animals and several small orchards as well. Our creek runs into another near this causeway which leads to lots of water in a short time where it sounds like you are living on a beach. Always check with us beforehand if there has been heavy rain and there are several creeks in this area which leads to a rapid build up of water in a short time over many of the causeways out here. When there is water around, the creek will have lots of little fish and a large variety of frogs, some very weird looking ones to study.
While there are many animals on the farm, there are also wild animals who use it as their home and refuge so your pets
must be kept safe with you at night.
Swimming pool on the farm can be used if requested through booking.

Creekside Camp (our main camping area)
is relatively flat, well drained sites along a creek that usually runs. This area offers multiple composting toilets and wood powered hot water bush shower and outdoor bath. There is also a large permanent deep waterhole a short distance from this camping area.
We have temporarily paused out Hill camp sites, due to continuing property maintenance and improvements. The Hilltop on our place is a lovely spot to watch the sunset with a glass of your favorite beverage, and even if you are camped at Creekside, you are welcome to walk or drive up to hilltop. Our venue and campgrounds are situated at the old Jimna State School property. The school closed in 2009 with the last students attending in 2006. It was then sold by the Qld government and has been rezoned as a Camping, Recreation and Events Venue. We have retained all the old school facilities for our campers to enjoy. There is a children’s playground and multi-purpose tennis court for everyone to enjoy. We provide tennis rackets, balls and basketballs free of charge to our campers. There is also no charge or fee to use the court. On most Sundays afternoons (weather permitting), we have social tennis where everyone is welcome to join in.
The old school toilet blocks have the addition of hot showers and all toilet facilities are the flushing type.

Borumba Dam is 4.5kms up the road. It is perfect for boating enthusiasts who want to fish or do various water sports.

If you are looking to get away, put your feet up, switch off and recharge, then this is your perfect spot to enjoy the serenity of farm life with the added mountain views. We have potable bore water, electricity connection, picnic table and bench and firepit. We have two powered caravan sites that can also double up as tent sites. Ideally you should be self sufficient.
Our bore has a solar pump that is rigged up to the water tank at the camp kitchen. Please turn the tap off once you have finished filling up your containers or caravan tanks. Bore water is potable, so can be used for cooking, cleaning, pets, etc.
Any cooking implements and tools that you might need during your stay can be provided at request. Dogs are welcome, just please be mindful of our free ranging chickens, which are generally located at the top of the farm, near the big new shed. We have a calf and mini goats that you are welcome to help us feed.
We are also looking at providing yoga, tai chi and meditation classes in the near future and are also setting up more sites at the back of the property as well as providing access to the creek in the summer.
Please ensure that you are mindful of our neighbours, no loud noises between 9pm and 7am and kindly clean up after yourselves and take your rubbish with you, as we don't have garbage collection at the property.
Nanango has a lovely vibe. It's Queensland's oldest and friendliest town. There are great playgrounds, swimming pool and cart racing in town, which is only about 10 minutes away from the farm. Kingaroy is about half an hour away. There is a great off roading spot in the forest that is literally up the road from us. According to previous campers it's perfect for beginners.

Our property is located on the site of the First Kilkivan Township and was home to a gold rush in 1868 where a 73 oz nugget was discovered.
Guests will have access to a portable toilet and fire pit throughout their stay.
Gold is still found in and around the creek with fossicking permitted at an extra daily rate of $25 per person. As this is private property we require that all the QLD Fossicking Act rules and regulations are followed this includes having your own permit which must be supplied before fossicking is permitted. These rules include no machinery or pump operated sluices such as high banking sluices.
Detectors are welcome and some great finds have been found with them including gold and coins from the 1860’s.
Large groups are welcome.
There are many great shaded camping spots along the creek or a large open area of about 50 acres for larger groups. There is also a year round swimming hole fed by a solar bore on the property for anyone wanting to cool down.
Kids under 12 are free but if fossicking must be covered by a permit. Pets are welcome.

The Cooke Family welcomes you to “Hopevale”. A beautiful 113 acre property bordered by Wrattens National Park at the edge of the world in the peaceful Widgee district of greater Gympie. Jason, a landscaper by trade, and Jacinta a teacher by profession, met many years ago at a national Christian youth conference. Four beautiful children later and many years down the track, they bought Hopevale as a blank cattle fattening property in 2018. After much hard work, they have made it what it is today, with plans to continually improve.
We have different camp options available, one of which is set up for those guests also wanting to stay with horses or just have a larger group booking.
Guests will have access to a toilet and shower throughout their stay which is within walking distance from each of the campsites. Campfires and pets are welcome.
The property has only had 4 farming owners in its 110 odd years since it was first surveyed and selected in 1915. The Hillcoats, Bishops, Cotters, and now the Cooke’s. The families over the years have used the property for timber getting, dairy, beef and small cropping.
The property is geologically rich with volcanic soils, sandstone escarpments full of caves and overhangs. The mighty Wrattens Falls sits to the back of the property in the National Park and is a sight to behold in full flow. It feeds the head waters of the western branch of Widgee Creek which meanders through the property.
The subtropical dry rainforest clad mountains are dominated by the majestic
Bunya and Hoop pines and are a testament to what once was covering the entire property before being cleared for farming. Remnant riparian creek lines are botanically rich and diverse holding Red and White Cedar, Teak, Silky oak and many other coveted timber trees harvested back in the day.
There are many species of animals and birds that call Hopevale home. From water dragons, frogs and fish in the creeks, monitors, wallabies, deer, koalas, possums and phascogales in the eucalypts. Red-back wrens, pardalotes, rainbow bee-eaters, finches and quail call the open grasses home while whip birds give their iconic call in the forest. Above, birds of prey ride the thermals of the valley looking for their next meal.

We are 10km north of the town of Crows Nest on the Great Dividing Range. 50 minutes from Toowoomba and 2 hours from Brisbane.
The hill on the property (Flat Top) is one of the highest points in the area at 700m altitude.
From the hilltop, you can enjoy 360-degree views of the surrounding area, with views across the Esk Valley towards the Sunshine Coast and sunsets over the hills surrounding Crows Nest.
There are 3 separate campsites on the hilltop, and another site further down the hill alongside the main driveway.

We have 69 acres within the Barambah Wine Trail (which is located in Moffatdale, near Murgon, QLD). Our property backs onto the Bjelke Petersen Dam.
Our property offers direct access to Lake Barambah from your large grassy campsite. You can enjoy uninterrupted views of the lake while relaxing around your camp fire.
The lake itself is wide and deep, and safe for swimming (properly supervised) and all your favourite water activities.

This farm has been used as a working farm for around 40 years. This area is where the government planned a dam so generally we have water in the creeks. Most of the camp sites border the creek and all are designed to take caravans.
The house was the original Amamoor Head Ranger, Forestry division, home which was cut in two and relocated from town
up to the top of our hill. From here during the bush fire season you can see fires from Widgee, Kilcoy or the Sunshine Coast. We run on solar and rain water for everything in the house and creek or dam water for our orchards and gardens.
We run a variety of animals and several small orchards as well. Our creek runs into another near this causeway which leads to lots of water in a short time where it sounds like you are living on a beach. Always check with us beforehand if there has been heavy rain and there are several creeks in this area which leads to a rapid build up of water in a short time over many of the causeways out here. When there is water around, the creek will have lots of little fish and a large variety of frogs, some very weird looking ones to study.
While there are many animals on the farm, there are also wild animals who use it as their home and refuge so your pets
must be kept safe with you at night.
Swimming pool on the farm can be used if requested through booking.

Our venue and campgrounds are situated at the old Jimna State School property. The school closed in 2009 with the last students attending in 2006. It was then sold by the Qld government and has been rezoned as a Camping, Recreation and Events Venue. We have retained all the old school facilities for our campers to enjoy. There is a children’s playground and multi-purpose tennis court for everyone to enjoy. We provide tennis rackets, balls and basketballs free of charge to our campers. If you are looking to get away, put your feet up, switch off and recharge, then this is your perfect spot to enjoy the serenity of farm life with the added mountain views. We have potable bore water, electricity connection, picnic table and bench and firepit. We have two powered caravan sites that can also double up as tent sites. Ideally you should be self sufficient.
Our bore has a solar pump that is rigged up to the water tank at the camp kitchen. Please turn the tap off once you have finished filling up your containers or caravan tanks. Bore water is potable, so can be used for cooking, cleaning, pets, etc.
Any cooking implements and tools that you might need during your stay can be provided at request. Dogs are welcome, just please be mindful of our free ranging chickens, which are generally located at the top of the farm, near the big new shed. We have a calf and mini goats that you are welcome to help us feed.
We are also looking at providing yoga, tai chi and meditation classes in the near future and are also setting up more sites at the back of the property as well as providing access to the creek in the summer.
Please ensure that you are mindful of our neighbours, no loud noises between 9pm and 7am and kindly clean up after yourselves and take your rubbish with you, as we don't have garbage collection at the property.
Nanango has a lovely vibe. It's Queensland's oldest and friendliest town. There are great playgrounds, swimming pool and cart racing in town, which is only about 10 minutes away from the farm. Kingaroy is about half an hour away. There is a great off roading spot in the forest that is literally up the road from us. According to previous campers it's perfect for beginners.

On arrival we were meet by the owner Paul & he’s dogs ,he showed us ,where our site was,with the access driveway to camp site freshly made. A nice & very secluded camp site (2) very well maintained beside the creek which was flowing but very low as it’s the dry season
They was a nice swimming hole,with a bit a rough track to it
Also a great eco toilet hut

Very happy with this quiet and bushy property plus a nice waterhole to cool down in. And hard to believe upto entering the property, this place had the flashest dunny i've seen this side of the border 😁.
The host was great and very accommodating.

Hope Valley is a beautiful place to camp. We stayed at Pilgrims Rest site, and we were right on the edge of the creek.
The separation of the sites in my opinion is fantastic. I couldn't hear anything other than the sound of nature and the creek flowing.
The drive in along Amamoor Creek Road has some great views, but be aware of livestock as they can sit pretty close to edge of the road.
Anita is a great host. She stopped in and said hello shortly after we arrived.
Honestly, I have nothing bad to say about this place at all. This was our first Hipcamp experience and I'm glad I chose this one as a starting point.

We loved our stay at La Dolce Vita @ Amamoor Creek it was a very relaxing stay on the creek. With plenty of room for us to set up. It was very peaceful in the beautiful landscape of the lush green fields and creek trickling in the background. Would recommend and would happily stay again. Thanks Steve

We loved camping @ Hobbsy’s Gully…very peaceful & the cows were very friendly hosts…abundant birdlife & just a great spot.
Close to town for supplys & Bunya Mts is a handy drive for a day trip

Paul was a friendly host! We stayed on site 4, very private, beautiful quiet bush surroundings and I dog loved being able to scout around off leash. Very neat and well kept site. The creek unfortunately is dry. The compost toilet was great and very clean. Firewood was available .We enjoyed our relaxing 3 day stay.

We booked site 7 for four nights. We have a 4x4 and a 4.5m camper trailer. We fitted perfectly on this site. Paul had wood for sale which burnt well. The fireplace was well placed.
The area was private and the site was large. There are minimal site's here which we found was a real drawcard for us. We slept like babies for the entire stay.
We took our dog along and she was allowed to run off lead which was a real plus.
There is lovely swimming hole just near site 6 which was very refreshing for swim and a play pool for the dog.

Great spot but not overly private. The link on the listing was wrong unfortunately so we didnt know where to go and with no reception it made it difficult. Tried to message host but didnt get a reply. We booked the Bella's billabong area and its nice and wide and spacious but thought it might have been more private but its right along the driveway. Other campers also walking through our site to swim wasnt ideal as we expected a site with privacy.
Still a beautiful spot but not sure if we would come back.
Watching the horses roam was really cool though

I needed a break away from the hustle and bustle of the city and Jimna Base Camp was the absolute perfect location! Spotlessly clean amenities and plenty of room. Peace and tranquility, surrounded by trees and birds! Pete’s hospitality was 5 star, and I absolutely loved my time there! Gorgeous bush walks, swims in the creek, chats over coffee with the locals all adds to the appeal! Will definitely be back!

Quiet spot with great hospitality. Shower and toilet is functional, clean and stocked so you don't need to bring the extras. Take advantage of the camp kitchen to do the washing up. Would definitely return. The Fig Tree provided plenty of shade.

We loved camping at Mountain View Camping, everything you want in a simple camp ground. Beautiful views, lots of space from other campers and the toilet was kept clean. Such a great option for families with dogs. Our dog loved being able to swim in the creek and be with us.

Top location, Norm met us at the gate and took us to our spot on his trusty rider mower. Beautiful spot. Very peaceful 1 neighbour about 100 metres away. Elizabeth and Norm were great hosts.

I’m very new to Hipcamp app and La Dolce Vita is my first experience. Absolutely love this farm. Amazing open view of the forest and the creek. You can choose your own camp site. Convenient with mobile portable toilet trailer. Warm welcoming from Steve with many helpful guidance for Amamoor Creek area. Highly recommended.
