Bottle Tree Farm is 10 acres situated on top of a slightly sloping hill which overlooks the surrounding hills, farming crops and Boat Mountain. We have a very old big bottle tree in the middle of our farm, which is one of the biggest in QLD. The sunsets are absolutely amazing here, so golden. The rural roads are lovely for an early or late evening walk on. We rent out a fully contained studio as well which is seperate and inside the farm fencing only for booked guests. Pets welcome for a small fee. You will be sharing the paddock with three beautiful friendly horses, roaming at their own pace. In the paddock there is also a little renovated shed turned into a cute outhouse called the Heart Shed. Which is just being finished, soon to be able to be booked. The farm is within a 7 min drive of two IGAs. Plus very close to all the wineries (10 km approx) and it’s delicious food! It’s also the same distance to nearby Bjelke Peterson Dam for water skiing and water sports. Wondai has some gorgeous shops including a wellness shop with a magnesium float tank, antique shops, and the likes. There is a dairy museum in Murgon. A dinosaur and fossil museum called 55 Million Year Old Museum in Murgon too. Also a visit to the Ration Shed Museum in the Indigenous and alcohol free community of Cherbourg is very educational and really worth a visit and only 10 mins away. It has beautiful indigenous pottery and art too. Boat Mountain is nearby and has spectacular views and is a beautiful walk with lots of Koalas. The area I believe, is a hidden secret and has a sacred feel. Come and experience it for yourself.

We stayed at Camp 1 for the king’s birthday weekend Oct 25 and it was stunning! We enjoyed the beautiful views on the mountain top and the abundance of firewood around the place which could be accessed with the right tools. Naomi was kind enough to coordinate our group booking and keep us together without any extra unknowns on the same site. The longhorns were beautiful to see and there were additional places to visit, driving only 20-40mins away. Great spot although a little windy… but to be expected on top of a mountain. There aren’t many trees on the top so take shade for the warm sunny days!

We set up camp in a shady, flat area next to and well above the flowing creek. It was a beautiful spot and the bird life spectacular! It was a short walk to the swimming hole and flying fox. This & the kayaks were great fun. The swimming hole was in a shady grove that provided a cool and relaxing spot to watch & relax! There were three beautiful horses roaming free that were gentle & friendly too! We can't wait to come back!!

This campsite is absolutely incredible. The views are some of the best I’ve ever experienced – whether it’s sunrise or sunset, every moment feels picture-perfect. The atmosphere is so peaceful and quiet, making it the perfect escape from busy life. Everything is well kept and the whole place has such a relaxed, welcoming feel. If you’re looking for somewhere to switch off, take in breathtaking scenery, and truly enjoy the outdoors, this spot is unbeatable. I can’t recommend it highly enough.

We booked Camp 1 for a birthday weekend and cannot fault our stay! When we camp, we want to do so away from the maddening crowds, immersed in nature, the country side. This spot was that! We've all agreed, this is now one of our regular picks. We got to hang out with long horns, horses and birdlife. The dogs loved being able to run around instead of being on leash. If there were other campers we didnt know! We all look forward to heading back and exploring more! Naomi was very helpful and a breeze to communicate with.

We spent a wonderful 4 days camped in our 22' caravan at site 2. The Property is vast with very nice views from all the hill tops. Access into the site was a breeze with well maintained gravel roads, and good clear instruction from Naomi. We went exploring both on foot and in our 4WD. There were lots of dams for our dogs to go swimming in but the water was far to cold for us humans at this time of year. If your looking for a secluded, private, true off-grid bush camp, then we highly recommend Dontoria Downs. As a side note, we came in and left via Blackbutt to the North. The unsealed public road had just been touched up and was in fantastic condition. Currently accessible by just about any vehicle (Inc. 2wd). Having said that, it is truly a "dry weather only" road, as the decent/assent to cross Emu Creek is VERY steep on both sides of the valley. We had no issue towing our 3tonne off road 22' van through there with our 4WD Hilux in 1st gear low range for the decents. If you are towing a large/heavy camper or van and are inexperienced or not confident driving very steep gravel roads then we'd recommend you come in from Crows Nest end.

Awsome property, very impressive cattle and great views. Excellent if you need to get away and hear only sounds of nature! We came down from Blackbutt with a full size caravan(off road), and there was some narly bits which you wouldn't want to attempt in the wet at all. Really good experience, hope we can make it back one day.

Love this spot on top of the world no one as far as they eye could see. But I would say you do need a 4x4 the 14ks of dirt road can be a little daunting but it was also in really good condition. We have an old 18ft pop top caravan not built for off road but it handled it well just lower the tyre pressure a little and take it slow. Beautiful spot and great fire pit

We have 69 acres within the Barambah Wine Trail (which is located in Moffatdale, near Murgon, QLD). Our property backs onto the Bjelke Petersen Dam. Our property offers direct access to Lake Barambah from your large grassy campsite. You can enjoy uninterrupted views of the lake while relaxing around your camp fire. The lake itself is wide and deep, and safe for swimming (properly supervised) and all your favourite water activities. There is also basic access to launch small boats. Dusty Hill Wines is just down the road and offers local wine tasting and some great meals in their restaurant. There are also some other wineries in the area you can explore and enjoy. If you want to get your heart rate up, we are 25 minutes from Kinombi Falls where you can enjoy a number of stairs to get to the top. Deep Dime is a 400 acre cattle, fodder and irrigated grain farm. Our primary crop is Lucerne for hay. Creekside Camp (our main camping area) is relatively flat, well drained sites along a creek that usually runs. This area offers multiple composting toilets and wood powered hot water bush shower and outdoor bath. There is also a large permanent deep waterhole a short distance from this camping area. We have temporarily paused out Hill camp sites, due to continuing property maintenance and improvements. The Hilltop on our place is a lovely spot to watch the sunset with a glass of your favorite beverage, and even if you are camped at Creekside, you are welcome to walk or drive up to hilltop. Our property is located on the site of the First Kilkivan Township and was home to a gold rush in 1868 where a 73 oz nugget was discovered. Guests will have access to a portable toilet and fire pit throughout their stay. Gold is still found in and around the creek with fossicking permitted at an extra daily rate of $25 per person. As this is private property we require that all the QLD Fossicking Act rules and regulations are followed this includes having your own permit which must be supplied before fossicking is permitted. These rules include no machinery or pump operated sluices such as high banking sluices. Detectors are welcome and some great finds have been found with them including gold and coins from the 1860’s. Large groups are welcome. There are many great shaded camping spots along the creek or a large open area of about 50 acres for larger groups. On the website a quote states, “In the late 1980’s, fossils found near Boat Mountain just outside Murgon in Southern Queensland rocked the palaeontology world. 15 new fossil species discovered here were found to be 55 million years old, predating any other Eocene period fossils found in Australia by 20 million years.” Suited to all, make a day of it and visit 55 Million Years Ago in the morning, enjoy lunch at a local winery before heading to Boat Mountain to see where they found the fossils and enjoy the sunset. We are a busy working property and horse training facility. Our business consists of backgrounding cattle, growing and irrigating of cattle feed and lucerne, as well as making hay. Fresh farm eggs can be bought if available at the time. This farm has been used as a working farm for around 40 years. This area is where the government planned a dam so generally we have water in the creeks. Most of the camp sites border the creek and all are designed to take caravans. The house was the original Amamoor Head Ranger, Forestry division, home which was cut in two and relocated from town up to the top of our hill. From here during the bush fire season you can see fires from Widgee, Kilcoy or the Sunshine Coast. We run on solar and rain water for everything in the house and creek or dam water for our orchards and gardens. We run a variety of animals and several small orchards as well. Our creek runs into another near this causeway which leads to lots of water in a short time where it sounds like you are living on a beach. Always check with us beforehand if there has been heavy rain and there are several creeks in this area which leads to a rapid build up of water in a short time over many of the causeways out here. When there is water around, the creek will have lots of little fish and a large variety of frogs, some very weird looking ones to study. While there are many animals on the farm, there are also wild animals who use it as their home and refuge so your pets must be kept safe with you at night. Swimming pool on the farm can be used if requested through booking.

We have a whole beautiful valley with crystal clear spring-fed creeks, patches of rain forest and hillsides covered in grass-trees backing onto Wrattens State Forest. There's 1,375 acres of land - the boundaries of our property are the ridges of the mountains that encircle us, and many rare species abound here. This is a dog and horse friendly property but no pets allowed in the cabin. There is paralysis tick in this region - so we'd recommend treating any animal before you come and frequent checks while you're here. The Cooke Family welcomes you to “Hopevale”. A beautiful 113 acre property bordered by Wrattens National Park at the edge of the world in the peaceful Widgee district of greater Gympie. Jason, a landscaper by trade, and Jacinta a teacher by profession, met many years ago at a national Christian youth conference. Four beautiful children later and many years down the track, they bought Hopevale as a blank cattle fattening property in 2018. After much hard work, they have made it what it is today, with plans to continually improve. We have different camp options available, one of which is set up for those guests also wanting to stay with horses or just have a larger group booking. Guests will have access to a toilet and shower throughout their stay which is within walking distance from each of the campsites. Campfires and pets are welcome. The property has only had 4 farming owners in its 110 odd years since it was first surveyed and selected in 1915. The Hillcoats, Bishops, Cotters, and now the Cooke’s. The families over the years have used the property for timber getting, dairy, beef and small cropping. The property is geologically rich with volcanic soils, sandstone escarpments full of caves and overhangs. The mighty Wrattens Falls sits to the back of the property in the National Park and is a sight to behold in full flow. It feeds the head waters of the western branch of Widgee Creek which meanders through the property. The subtropical dry rainforest clad mountains are dominated by the majestic Bunya and Hoop pines and are a testament to what once was covering the entire property before being cleared for farming. Remnant riparian creek lines are botanically rich and diverse holding Red and White Cedar, Teak, Silky oak and many other coveted timber trees harvested back in the day. There are many species of animals and birds that call Hopevale home. From water dragons, frogs and fish in the creeks, monitors, wallabies, deer, koalas, possums and phascogales in the eucalypts. Red-back wrens, pardalotes, rainbow bee-eaters, finches and quail call the open grasses home while whip birds give their iconic call in the forest. Above, birds of prey ride the thermals of the valley looking for their next meal. “We have been blessed beyond measure with a small slice of God’s wonderful creation that we would love to share with you.”

Bottle Tree Farm is 10 acres situated on top of a slightly sloping hill which overlooks the surrounding hills, farming crops and Boat Mountain. We have a very old big bottle tree in the middle of our farm, which is one of the biggest in QLD. The sunsets are absolutely amazing here, so golden. The rural roads are lovely for an early or late evening walk on. We rent out a fully contained studio as well which is seperate and inside the farm fencing only for booked guests. Pets welcome for a small fee. You will be sharing the paddock with three beautiful friendly horses, roaming at their own pace. In the paddock there is also a little renovated shed turned into a cute outhouse called the Heart Shed. Which is just being finished, soon to be able to be booked. The farm is within a 7 min drive of two IGAs. Plus very close to all the wineries (10 km approx) and it’s delicious food! It’s also the same distance to nearby Bjelke Peterson Dam for water skiing and water sports. Wondai has some gorgeous shops including a wellness shop with a magnesium float tank, antique shops, and the likes. There is a dairy museum in Murgon. A dinosaur and fossil museum called 55 Million Year Old Museum in Murgon too. Also a visit to the Ration Shed Museum in the Indigenous and alcohol free community of Cherbourg is very educational and really worth a visit and only 10 mins away. It has beautiful indigenous pottery and art too. Boat Mountain is nearby and has spectacular views and is a beautiful walk with lots of Koalas. The area I believe, is a hidden secret and has a sacred feel. Come and experience it for yourself.
