If you have a 4wd you can take a short drive up to Spicers Gap National Park. Here there is a short walk out to the Governors Chair lookout with spectacular views of the Fassifern Valley and beyond. We currently don't have a boat ramp however once you have launched your boat at the public boat ramp we have a nice bay in front of the campground where you can anchor your boat.

Discover secret hideouts, come and enjoy a swim under our flowing waterfall (for those brave enough to during the winter months!) and simply relax and soak in pure wildlife beneath a million stars in the night sky. Binghi Station is designed for the 4x4 enthusiasts. In other words we strongly recommend access by 4WD only as the entry 6klm driveway is very rugged and bumpy in most places due to heavy rain fall past 12 months. Please ask for more details if necessary should you have any concerns based on your equipment. Its an ongoing maintenance. Its the 4x4 adventure. We would rather talk it down than up:-) Currently we do not recommend SUV AWD type cars due to there lower profile and vulnerability to bumps and ruts. It is doable many do it all however about driver confidence and add another upto 2hours to trip :-) We recommend parking up the top driveway and having a preplanned lift down. BE WARNED The driveway and some tracks are rough suited for 4x4 adventure enthusiasts that like to use there pride and joy offroad gear for what its intended. ps One thing we can say you will never get bogged on our driveway no matter the rain fall as its very compacted despite its authentic rough character. The Secret Gorge site is suited to tents, camper trailers and smaller length caravans. All our other site locations are suited to off-road 4WD caravans and camper trailers. Other campgrounds are available near the entry gate that don't require a creek crossing for access and toilets are available on some of them. One side of the property is bound by Emu Creek and the other by Girard Creek, both creeks have enough water with some permanent deep water holes for all year activities. Sightseeing inside the property we have Girard Falls, a 50m deep waterfall, nature at it's best. The only entry into the property is by Emu Creek Rd a gravel road. Emu Creek Retreat is located in the far north-east of New South Wales. We are approximately 200 km from Brisbane, Toowoomba and Gold Coast, 150km from Byron Bay. Tabulam is the nearest town 12km away. Fuel and groceries are available at Tabulam along with a post office, pub and police station. Casino is 68km away and Tenterfield 78km. Once a working cattle property, in the 90's was converted into a camping and 4WD park. Since 2017 has been a family own and operated property, pet friendly, we are using the existing large camping grounds to convert it into a camping paradise. Two properties combined with close to 2800 acres, fronting Paddy’s Flat Rd for 2km and extends 7km to the back fence bordering a 22000 acre cattle property. The front section is undulating with plantation forest (spotted gum) and bushland, towards the back it has mountains, steep terrain and millions of trees with spectacular views and great hiking tracks.

These best describe this 754 hectare (1864 acres) property. Stonepine Ridge is 'remote' - your camp sites are away from any dwellings - but you are still close enough to country towns across borders. There is plenty of space for social distancing. Most camp sites are 50 or more metres apart. The terrain is mostly treed with some cleared, pastured country. On the border with the Queensland town of Stanthorpe, Stonepine Ridge is close to the historic areas of Willsons Downfall and Amosfield in New South Wales. Home to many rivers that traverse the property from top to bottom, the Boonoo Boonoo and Bookookookarara rivers and Undercliffe and Boonoo Boono Falls are close by and are popular sites to spend a few hours walking/hiking and immersing yourself in the ambient countryside. The Boonoo Boonoo and Bald rock National Parks are also within this area. The beautiful New England town of Tenterfield is about 20 minutes drive from the falls and offers visitors many shopping and restaurant options. Be sure to stop en route to visit the World War 2 tank traps - (Australia's Maginot Line) and Thunderbolt's hideout. A short drive across the border into Queensland will give you access to the Girraween National Park and a host of wineries, coffee shops, restaurants and pubs. This camping property is large and you will find no better place that allows for gentle as well as more advanced walking, hiking and mountain biking. The altitude on the property varies from 900m at the top down to 50m to the bottom. The temperature is variable with mostly cool nights, which makes for restful sleep and a nice fire to add to the ambience.

Splitters Swamp Creek runs out of the hills, crystal clear water pours over the very beautiful granite rocks - creating a stunning waterfall and a shallow pool at the bottom. It then meanders gently down the valley surrounded by timber. Visitors are welcome to walk a distance exploring the granite rock formations in and around the creek. The campsite is located in a very private location, surrounded by a mix of vegetation and tall trees. There is a variety of native wildlife around, including bird life and a variety of wallabies. The native flora is beautiful, too. In town you will find shops and suppliers for all your camping needs. While you're there, check out the heritage architecture, great cafes, interesting shops. If you're up for an adventure further afield, the nearby national parks are perfect for outdoor adventures, from bushwalking to swimming and you can take the Boonoo Boonoo Falls walking track to a waterfall that drops 210 metres into a gorge, and enjoy eye-popping panoramas in Bald Rock National Park. These best describe this 754 hectare (1864 acres) property. Stonepine Ridge is 'remote' - your camp sites are away from any dwellings - but you are still close enough to country towns across borders. There is plenty of space for social distancing. Most camp sites are 50 or more metres apart. The terrain is mostly treed with some cleared, pastured country. On the border with the Queensland town of Stanthorpe, Stonepine Ridge is close to the historic areas of Willsons Downfall and Amosfield in New South Wales. Home to many rivers that traverse the property from top to bottom, the Boonoo Boonoo and Bookookookarara rivers and Undercliffe and Boonoo Boono Falls are close by and are popular sites to spend a few hours walking/hiking and immersing yourself in the ambient countryside. The Boonoo Boonoo and Bald rock National Parks are also within this area. The beautiful New England town of Tenterfield is about 20 minutes drive from the falls and offers visitors many shopping and restaurant options. Be sure to stop en route to visit the World War 2 tank traps - (Australia's Maginot Line) and Thunderbolt's hideout. A short drive across the border into Queensland will give you access to the Girraween National Park and a host of wineries, coffee shops, restaurants and pubs. This camping property is large and you will find no better place that allows for gentle as well as more advanced walking, hiking and mountain biking. The altitude on the property varies from 900m at the top down to 50m to the bottom. The temperature is variable with mostly cool nights, which makes for restful sleep and a nice fire to add to the ambience.

Splitters Swamp Creek runs out of the hills, crystal clear water pours over the very beautiful granite rocks - creating a stunning waterfall and a shallow pool at the bottom. It then meanders gently down the valley surrounded by timber. Visitors are welcome to walk a distance exploring the granite rock formations in and around the creek. The campsite is located in a very private location, surrounded by a mix of vegetation and tall trees. There is a variety of native wildlife around, including bird life and a variety of wallabies. Weekend Trip to Oakey Ridge

Because of our schedule, we had no choice but to arrive around 7 pm, so we had to set up in the dark. It was raining and very windy, so it was quite difficult for us, but Greg helped us with absolutely everything — pitching our tent, putting up our gazebo, and even lending us pegs since it was our first camping trip and we hadn’t brought any. We were so, so grateful and relieved. And even though it was raining and we couldn’t use the fire properly, he still helped us light the firewood beforehand when we told him it was our first time and we weren’t really sure how to do it. That was incredibly kind of him. We couldn’t see the view properly when we arrived at night, but when we woke up in the morning, the scenery was absolutely stunning. It made us want to come back again on a sunny day — this place is truly perfect. Even though our first camping experience was quite challenging, Greg turned it into such a wonderful memory. We’re so thankful to him. We’ll definitely be recommending this place to others. Even the drive here was beautiful, so we truly, truly recommend it.

Each camp had plenty of space for themselves and there was a friendly vibe amongst other campers. Weekend Trip to Binghi Station

We loved our stay at Binghi Station and the hosts really make the effort to make your stay the best they can. Though we originally booked the Jump'n Rock site, the owners gave us insight of other sites that would be better for us with our two toddlers.. luckily we listened! We stayed at Sandy falls campsite and it was perfect for the kids.. and we did a day trip to the other sites anyway. There can be a few flies depending on the weather but bring your Bushman's Repellant like we did and you'll be fine! There's lots to explore and the rock landscapes are beautiful.. definitely one to remember. Very impressed by all the sites and our hosts!
