Weekend Trip to Tinara, 200 acre cattle farm

We had a great weekend at Tinara. Absolutely no one around. An amazing night sky with lots of satellite spotting. We went for a drive to Bunya mountains and then back for lunch at Maidenwell pub then back to camp to cook a camp oven, and drinks by the fire in the afternoon. A very cool night and a frost in the morning was nice. We towed our 15ft van to the hill without any problems but you would want a reasonable 4wd and offroad van for it. I enjoyed it being a bit of a challenge to get to the site.

Scenic campsite where You get a bit of privacy, because campers here are not packed together. You get that nice view from a hill and it's perfect when You are chasing starry sky and a bonfire combination. Make sure to bring very warm clothes during winter, You'll definitely feel that windchill to Your bones. I also met a host at the gate while reading for directions and she's a very lovely and warm person. I definitely would go back there.

6 adults in 3 vans. Had a lovely time. Views out across the valley and the best fire pit! Great instructions to our site and within a short drive to the Bunya Mountains NP

Weekend Trip to Hilltop Farm, Camping and Glamping.

The hosts were extremely lovely and accommodating, always greeted us on their way past. Our Dogs were allowed off leash even with the cows free roaming around us which was awesome! Cows were friendly and wandered throughout the camp every now and then. The camp spot itself was amazing and was mostly out of eye site from others. Would 100% come back :)

We camped at back creek S1 and it was gorgeous, had a lovely view of the mountains, and surrounded by horses. Kimberly and her mum were the best hosts ever. Coming around to tell us a bit about everything, places we could go exploring or 4wding. They also spent almost 2 hours tripping back and fourth to their house and the neighbours to help us fix a flat tire, couldn’t recommend this place more.

Kippa's Rest is a fantastic camp site. Plenty of room for our group of 3 vehicles, 2 camper trailers and a caravan. Secluded with shade trees which would be great in the warmer months. It's far enough away from the other camp sites that you can't see or hear anything. A little bit of background road traffic noise.

Such a great spot! Cannot wait to go back! Super easy drive to get to the land and then easy access down to your site. The area is so peaceful and so well kept and maintained. Hosts are wonderful. Left feeling so relaxed and refreshed. 10/10!

I stayed at the cosy camp and it had a stellar view, good firepit and some great level spots. The raw honey was excellent too Hosts were like lovely, and everything was easy to find. Recommend for a bit of astrophotography.

Weekend Trip to Hilltop Farm, Camping and Glamping.

We had a magic night away at the Whitbirds Nest site – one of three peaceful spots on the property. Just two hours from Brisbane, it was an easy Saturday arvo drive after kids’ sport. We spent the afternoon kicking the footy, playing tennis and board games, then settled in by the fire to watch the sunset and the stars roll in. The tent was cozy, the sunrise was stunning, and the kids loved meeting the horses and Shetland Pony. Bit of wind overnight, so worth bringing a sturdy setup if it’s in the forecast. Big thanks to lovely hosts Leacia and Phil – that extra bag of firewood was gold. Quiet, private, and those hilltop views are worth the trip alone. Highly recommend!

1 night at Cheriton Bush Camp

Honestly already planning our next visit. We just loved our stay at the Cheriton Bush Camp. Everything was just a breeze from beginning to the end of our stay. Has beautiful clean " flushing toilets", no potable water though so don't forget to bring your own, the camp kitchen is full of character and I still wonder if there might be some yabbies in the the dam.. Next time I will find out. Thank you for your hospitality Sam we hope to see you again soon

2 nights at Cheriton Bush Camp

Great little spot for a couple of nights or a stopover close to Brisbane. Sam is lovely and welcoming. There’s a camp kitchen, toilet and firewood available as well as a large communal firepit. We will definitely be back next time we’re in the area

Large picnic table and fire pit for communal use. We offer small group camping or exclusive whole-site booking for Cheriton Bush Camp. No chainsaws to be used on the property. BYO fire wood or we can supply 15kg for $10. Personal fires permitted but above ground fireplaces must be used. We have a small amount for hire for $5.00 each. Generators permitted between the hours of 7am and 9pm only. Pets allowed but need to be on a lead at all times. Unisex flushing toilets with non-potable water. Must bring your own drinking water. We have a Beach Volleyball court, basketball hoop and swing set. Lots to see in the area. Hillview Drive Mountain Bike Trail and Brisbane Valley Rail Trail are a short walk/bike ride from the property. Canoe/Kayak entry point to the Brisbane river off Kholo Road (5km) Our price of $20.00 per site is aimed at two adults and up to three children. Each set up (tent, van or vehicle) is a separate site. We have 3 private campsites to offer, all have good distance from each other with no visibility of other camps. Approximately 400m from other sites. We like to camp with room too! Check for local fire ban restrictions first. There is plenty of wood lying around for use (bring your axe or saw). Things to do - Send some golf balls into space -The creek is seasonal, only flowing after good rain. It will dry up in some conditions. Swimming in the water holes is ok, please check in the water for depth and sticks -Brisbane river is up the road (10mins) to Savages crossing or Twin Bridges. Fantastic swimming or lazing in the running water. -Push bikes, Brisbane Valley Rail Trail is 5min away if you jump on at Borallon Station Rd. Some cattle tracks for the kids to ride along in the paddock also. -Wivenhoe, Somerset Dam in the area for water sports -Wildlife watching, this paddock sustains a large variety of native animals, if you’ve got a keen eye -Bottle Tree pub is just down the road, - bit more than walking distance tho :) -Take it easy.

We have several peaceful campsites available on our off grid property near Crows Nest. Also a private glamping site with a 5m Bell Tent - with everything you need for a relaxing night away. We are 10km north of the town of Crows Nest on the Great Dividing Range. 50 minutes from Toowoomba and 2 hours from Brisbane. The hill on the property (Flat Top) is one of the highest points in the area at 700m altitude. From the hilltop, you can enjoy 360-degree views of the surrounding area, with views across the Esk Valley towards the Sunshine Coast and sunsets over the hills surrounding Crows Nest. There are 3 separate campsites on the hilltop, and another site further down the hill alongside the main driveway. It is very quiet and peaceful, yet only a 10-minute drive to Crows Nest. Enjoy the spring fed dam in the warmer months. 🏊‍♂️ There is plenty to explore in the area, including: 🏞 Crows Nest Falls National Park (good for a swim) 🐃 Bullocky's Rest and creekside walk in Crows Nest (dog friendly) ☕️ Lovely cafes in Crows Nest (eg. At Le Jackz you come to relax and unwind and allow nature to be your therapist.The property is located near Maclagan, a small town situated at the foothills of Bunya Mountains National Park. The majestic Bunya Mountains were formed 30 million years ago and thought to be the remains of an old volcano. The national park features both wet and dry rainforests, grasslands and open bush supporting a diverse range of plant and animal species. From December to March, Bunya pine trees drop cones containing edible seeds known as Bunya nuts. For those keen to do a bit of site-seeing, there is an abundance of nature walks, cycling, historical tours in Toowoomba and Dalby. NOTE: dry weather access only. Maidenwell pub does an amazing Pig on the Spit if you are there the last Saturday of the month and great Pizzas! 370m Airstrip available for fly in visitors with appropriate prior notice. We recommend taking a few carrots to tempt the horses over for a pat. We're on Instagram and Facebook as Tinara Pastured Beef - jump on and follow us! Fully self-contained and off-grid campers only. You will need your own water, camp toilet and to take all rubbish with you - leave no trace. Dump points for toilet and rubbish are located in Maidenwell. **Please note our only all-wheel-drive site, Main Camp, is currently unavailable due private use. All other sites are 4WD access only (not suitable for 'soft' 4wd's). Please do not book The Hill campsite unless you are an experienced and competent offroad 4WDér. Anduramba Bush Camping is situated on a 320 acre property south of Blackbutt. The campsite is on top of a hill with 360 degree views. It's rough and remote with limited facilities, so it's not for everyone. Most people who stay usually fall into one of 2 categories - - 4WD'ers or adventure bike riders who would rather camp overnight in the bush instead of at a caravan park or pub - People who just want a weekend away in the bush with some mates, chilling round a fire with a few drinks If either of those sound like you, I think you'll love it here! There's 2 options to choose from - you can book the campsite only, or the cabin which is located at the same spot. Property features - - Great views - Dogs welcome (just don't let them wander) - Portaloo (flushing) + drop toilet (non flushing) - Shower hut (uses shower bags) - Water available 500m away - Firewood available - Good phone reception (Telstra) - 2WD accessible via Esk or Crow's Nest, 4WD recommended from Blackbutt - I only accept one group at a time, so you'll have the place to yourself The cabin has 12V lighting and a bunk bed with mattresses (double bottom, single top), you'll need to bring your own bedding. A few other notes - - be aware you'll have to drive on gravel roads for quite a distance. 2WD vehicles can get here, but a 4WD is preferable - This is not a 4WD park or a ride park.
