Our property is 4WD access. You are risking your booking and vehicle if you turn up in a 2WD or family SUV. See Extras for booking park and ride option if your vehicle is 2WD. UPDATE as of late July 2025 - the creek is dry.. Some of our tracks are rutted and may become slippery in wet weather. We do basic maintenance to keep access open for 4WDS. Be prepared to apply your 4WD skills. Kobble Creek West is accessible from several locations on our property boundary. Ideal for creek exploring and rock hopping. There’s even a small lagoon now awaiting. Check out the short hiking trails on our property (there are hike options suitable to your preferred difficulty). Bring your machete for an even greater hiking experience! You can relax by or in the spring fed dam, explore seasonal Kobble Creek, feed the chickens or goats, spot the abundant bird life, or sit patiently and a deer or fox may appear at dusk. Enjoy the evenings sitting around the campfire as you gaze at the stars. All sites have sufficient spacing from other sites to ensure acceptable privacy. You are welcome to enjoy our off-grid camping with the expectation that facilities are minimal. NOTE: Surcharges exist for a number of circumstances, including day visitors and single-night bookings. These can be found in the Extras and must be added at the time of booking for your request to be accepted. NOTE: Please also indicate that you are 4WD and your camping platform and size as you book. This enables us to site you appropriately. NOTE: Each site has a stand alone camping toilet bucket, located behind a small shade cloth screen near your camp site. We have 4 private campsites located near a dam for your enjoyment.  Relax, unwind and listen to nature. There is the good mix of shade provided by trees as well as open sunny areas. This campsite suits self-contained campers who bring their own toilet, shower, and water. (There are no facilities on site) Large open area for outdoor activities. Pets welcome however must remain on leash at all times. Not to chase horses or wildlife.  *Please notify us if bringing a dog*  Please note, we are an active hobby farm and as such you may hear the tractor etc in the distance as we do odd jobs around the farm. Please do not feed the horses as some have strict dietary requirements. Please leave the campsite as you found it for the next camper. Fires permitted in fire-rings provided or in an above ground firepit. Check for local fire ban restrictions first. Free firewood to collect and use in firepit provided. No parties or large gatherings, but happy for small family groups. Perfect location for a quick weekend getaway from the city. Only 40 minutes from Brisbane and a short distance off the Warrego Highway.   Things to do - Fishing  - Kayak or Swimming in the dam is ok, please check in the water for depth and sticks - The creek is seasonal, only flowing after good rain. It will dry up in some conditions.  - Follow the walking trails for bush walks to spot the wallabies, kangaroos and some beautiful birdlife. - Kids can ride their bicycles along the trails. - Ewenique hobby farm is located roughly 500m up the road, great animal farm for kids to enjoy.  - Wivenhoe, Somerset Dam in the area for water sports

National Parks, walking trails, Wineries, Gourmet Pubs and Restaurants, Markets, two magnificent parks with play areas for children and so many other points of interest to see and discover. Being in a rural area we have strict guidelines for campfires. We follow all Local Government guidelines and the QFS. No blazing fires, all fires to be extinguished at night, no coals or ash to be left under trees or on the grass. We will pick up each morning coals and ash if required.

Great campsite, nice and close to Brisbane so easy to get to. Enjoyed the 4WD track on the way in, was a bit of a challenge! Luckily we had a bit of rain so there was water in the creek and we got a swim.

Platypus Point was such a beautiful campsite, we stayed for a weekend but wish we had the whole week as it was so serene and relaxing. We honestly kept forgetting we were less than an hour from the city. Lexi and Kieren were also wonderful hosts, we really felt so welcomed and privileged to stay on their property. The directions for arrival were clear, we even got a map from the gate on the way in with some helpful tips and facts about the area. The communication throughout the whole trip was really appreciated as well, they made sure to let us know about a few truck deliveries and noises but we weren’t bothered by it at all. There was also kayaks left on the campsite which was just another added bonus on our trip as we spent most of our time on the water, which was also beautiful. Hopefully we’ll come back soon and be able to stay for longer as we had such an amazing time.

Lovely cleared area with easy access to the river bank. Caught plenty of catfish, a couple turtles, a perch and a bass on our one night stay. I am pretty certain I saw a platypus also, a brown wide backed creature popped up and ducked back under the water pretty swiftly around 630am to the right of the point. Very private area and quiet. Saw one boat zoom past while we were fishing. Make sure you bring wood as the campfire ring was great to sit around at night. The lovely owners had freshly mowed the grass just before our arrival and had left a handy page of notes on the property for us at the gateway. We will definitely be back :) thank you for sharing your piece of paradise with us.

This was a perfect Hipcamp experience. Everything from the communication, instructions, views, kayaks to use and ammenities were outstanding. We can’t wait to come back for a longer stay and relax with this view. We didn’t get lucky with the platypus this time, but so many birds, turtles and lizards. We had a big downpour in the morning but managed to get out no problem. The hosts, Kieran and Lexi, were so kind. They checked in re weather warnings, offered help in case, early check in to ensure the place was mowed in time, and even refunded me a night because my car wasn’t drivable, no fault of theirs. Thank you both so much, we can’t wait to come back!

Had the most relaxing time staying at platypus point, and will definitely be making it a regular stop! The scenery is to die for, so tranquil with the most spectacular sunset over the river. So much wildlife to spot, and exploring the creek looking for platypus is definitely a core memory. Camp-site is clean and well maintained, with a great firepit and picnic table which is so handy. Being warmer weather, we did spot one pretty little eastern brown snake, so be sensible and wear decent footwear when exploring. Remember it's their home first, and we are just visiting! Hosts are super friendly and helpful. Thanks so much once again, we cant wait to come back.

Had such a beautiful stay at Lexi and Kieran’s land. From the moment I arrived, Lexi was absolutely lovely — warm and welcoming. There’s only one campsite on the property, so we had the whole place entirely to ourselves, which made it feel extra peaceful and private. The view of the river was just stunning. Took the kayak out for a paddle and it was so calm and relaxing on the water. My two dogs had the best time exploring, playing, and just being out in nature — it was perfect for them. Everything about this spot was serene, clean, and well looked after. Such a great place to camp if you’re looking for quiet, space, and a beautiful natural setting. Highly recommend, and I’d happily come back again.

We shifted from the Wallaby site (tucked away nicely) to this one for our 2nd night & they both have their perks! This one is right by the dam with limited tree cover but provides the ability to see/prepare for passerbys (for those traveling solo &/or with Dogs) & swim without needing to leave camp! We ducked out to the vacant camp site (the possum site?) to have our post-swim Zoomies hehe Love the trails to keep pups fulfilled!! Didn't feel like we would bump into anyone! 👌✨ Camp area is behind the Horse yards etc at the back of the property, so it's safe & quiet. Love this space!

A beautiful dam & walking trails! My Dogs & I loved the space of this site & the ample shade to be found while enjoying it! We loved watching the horses & the fact that I can see ahead on the trails in case of other trail users. We'll be back!
