On our 28 acre property you have access to an extremely large dam for your water toys ( non powered) and mowed walking tracks all over the property. Campers must be self contained with their own toilet. Kangaroos are everywhere and an abundance of birdlife have the 2nd very large dam all to themselves. The site provides complete privacy and peace and quiet except for the bird song. The Heritage township of Childers is 5 minutes away by car, Woolies, restaurants as well as a main street that is very worth while walking down. Great coffee shops and interesting old Hotels. 100 secluded acres located on the Gregory River approximately 15 minutes from Buxton township. The property is nestled amongst thousands of acres of national park for bush walkers an explorers. Guests need to be fully self contained and no toilets are on site. Access to the Gregory river enables fishing from the bank and a spot to place a crab pot to secure a local feed of fish or mud crab. There is also the option to put a kayak into the river from the bank. Campsites are located approximately 100m from the river bank so only a short walk to the water. Despite there being some snags, I have caught some very decent fish and crabs all from the property. For those wanting to spend a day on the water, I can guide guests in my boat to help land one of the many metre barramundi that call the river home. There are approximately 15 native beehives on the property and I am happy to show guests inside some hives as well as how to locate some in the wild for the interested bushwalkers and nature lovers. The property does not have power, water or toilets so please plan ahead. Significant rainfall can also make accessibility an issue along the 1km driveway so I would recommend a 4 wheel drive, however if it is dry a 2WD would be fine.

1 night at Mystery Craters: Moonlight Stay
The peaceful country setting, is what appealed most to me. There is a coffee shop on site, and there is an opportunity to buy crystals and other items if you wish. “The Earth room” appealed most to me, which prompted me to book another night. This room has many amazing crystals and fossils and incredible artwork on display, with a background of beautiful low frequency music which I felt was deeply soul touching and healing. The unusual, mystery craters are located on a small section of DNA’s property, and are understandably fenced, otherwise walking around them could be dangerous. There is no ‘otherworldly glow at night’. I enjoyed my stay close to lovely gardens, the craters & natural Bushland.

Recently stayed 1 night. What a gem of a place. As there is only 1 site you have the place to yourself. So peaceful. Highly recommend to anyone who loves nature and silence. Plenty of walking tracks to check out the wildlife. Dennis came by to say hi and give me a rundown of the area. Very nice gentleman. I will definitely be back.

Lovely peaceful spot on the Burrum River. Lots of birdlife and kangaroos. Gorgeous cows. Easy to stroll around and appreciate the work going in to the property. We were there for a 1 night "shakedown" with new van. Grounds neat and tidy, directions and information from Michael very clear.

Such a peaceful camp. We enjoyed sitting by the river and watching the birdlife. We were lucky enough to camp right by the river and enjoy the views from our campsite. Bring midgee repellent as there are sandflies at dusk and dawn. James is lovely, helpful and made us feel at home.

A fabulous stay alongside the creek with fire pits and wood provided to use. 2 spots to choose from with lovely grass everywhere. A few dips in the driveway/road in, but managed with a 22” van with lower clearance. Great directions and caring hosts, thanks Dennis and Sue for a great stay! Kayaks available to use on the dams and walking tracks across the property.

beautiful spot to stay on the river being able to catch mudcrabs and do fishing. Very relaxing spot and we where lucky to have no one else stay on the property for two nights. Easy to find and driveway is good to get a 20 foot caravan in. Michael was a fantastic communicator responding to texts asap. Harvey bay 30min drive and the township of Howard 5min away with IGA , battleship, pub, butcher and a few other shops.

Dennis and Sue have carved out a lovely private spot on their land for visitors. Lots of options to pitch a tent or park an RV alongside the creek that is teeming with birdlife. They keep the grass mowed short with nice cleared trails to roam. There is a privacy tent for your toilet. There is a swing, a table with benches, a fire pit, and the site was stocked with wood. They offered the use of a paddle board and boat for the dam which would be wonderful in hot weather. Childers is a very short drive, and has an all the amenities you might need. 10/10. Thank you for having us!

The property is totally private and caravans cannot been seen from the road, the owners live on the property and only booked guests are to enter the property offering security and peace of mind. Whether you want to bird watch, kayak, fish (catch and release only), hike or ride one of the many trails or sit, relax and read your favourite book, we promise a warm welcome; from the wildlife and the proprietors Tracie and Jimmy. Dam Crazy is also pet friendly, dogs must be cleaned up after and may be walked off leash on the walking trails (please be mindful of other campers, farm animals and wildlife), they may also swim in the dam but must be contained or kept on leash in the campsite areas. The dam is very deep and could have snags washed down in floods, so we suggest children wear life jackets, and MUST be supervised by adults at all times around the water. Enjoy a convenient and relaxing base to discover the best of Hervey Bay at our 150-acre cattle grazing farm located just 3km outside of town, with plenty of space for campers. To access the farm, turn right off the Maryborough Highway into Chapel Rd, then turn right at the picnic table beside the bikeway, and do not drive over the cattle grid. Campers must be self-contained with their own camp toilet, but there is a 24/7 dump station just 2km away. A stone's throw from the campsites is access to the mobility corridor/bike path, which takes you straight into Hervey Bay and continues all the way past the shops to Urangan pier, offering 15km of ocean frontage to explore. Our farm is located about 2.5km from both hospitals (private and government) for any care that you may need. All specialists and consulting facilities are very convenient. Next door to the campsites is our fantastic local cafe, The Depot Espresso Bar, open at 6 in the morning. They're happy to take orders for our campers from 5:30 if you knock! It's perfect for hopping on your bike from camp, grabbing your morning caffeine fix, and continuing on the day's biking adventure. Campfires are permitted, but please BYO firepit, and there is plenty of fallen timber you are welcome to collect and split yourself. Pets are welcome too! It's totally safe. Feel free to put on some music and have a few drinks by the campfire, but we want our farm to be a place where our animals and our guests feel safe and relaxed, so we do not accommodate noisy parties.
